As far as I can tell she looks happy. I see the new growths in the crevices. I wonder if I should trim off them little leaves at the bottom, I think I'm gonna wait tho. Just to be safe. She did well with transferring to this big pot from the little garden cup. I read that auto flowers hate transferring, she didn't show one bit of shock. I was careful to not disturb any of the roots. Everyone advised me to wait til she had more of a root ball, however considering that the roots were gonna travel towards the bottom holes.. yeah, I think it would be more difficult once them roots establish. That's just me tho, do what you want. I think of the roots as the tiny capillary veins we have throughout our bodies, and how delicate they are. Either way, she didn't die!!! ❤️

I noticed a lot of you OG growers have dry clippings of the fan leaves laid around in the soil of your plants.. why? Is it kinda the same as mulch? What's the benefits? Please and thank you 😇

It's refered to as chop and drop and it's great for raised beds and bigger container, organic/living soil grows that can turn over top dressing efficiently. Or for beds with worms as well. It feeds your mulch layer yes, which feeds your microbes, increases your brix etc..also keeps the temps down on your top soil but can lead to pest issues and mold if your Organic matter content gets too high. Then you'll want to add more digestive bacteria like LABS to help break it down or some Kashi blend is really amazing for living soil.

Natural break down. composting essentially. It'll break down and turn into nutrients for the plants. It's only of benefit if you are using living soil really aka using microbial life in your soil. In coco or peat forget it. Guys that grow organic in living soil just use that soil again and again so they dump discarded plant material right in the soil to break down and become food for the microbs which shit that food out and that's the gold that the plants absorb.

There is no benefits truly. By the time it takes for it to break down, and turn into Mycelium. You need a few weeks. And you need 2be on enzymes but the risks of mold go way up with leaving leafs on your sub unless you got good air flow. Which should move all over your plants body. Dead leafs can attract bugs. When they die they release a smell that will attract munchers + they make more you got pests. Generally sometimes if I see old leafs and good Fungi you leave it. You notice the dif. Mold is green, and bud rot is bad.. but? There's lots of benifical fungi. I had FPP. and lil yellow mushrooms grew and lots of yellow fungi down the sides of my pot. At the end of ripening the plant had eaten the entire lot. What was left was remnants of yellow Fungi that turned white and last bits of Mycelium was left Killer bud. But, back to your point. Look for good Mycelium reaction from dead growth. Generally there's a nutrient in every line that helps break down broken roots and so ppl cam reuse soil. Just something to break down the old dead growth to beni fungi and that's it. (Oh and top up your soil. As reused soil clearly won't have nutrients. So I use Mega worm on my reused soil. Or worm castings ppl use. Its like staring of with new soil. Much cheaper also when you go through 1000L per c

This is an addictive habit.. not smoking the harvest, that's the reward!! I not ever in my life thought I'd try my hand at this, and I'm finding such satisfaction in just growing! I'm still a bit nervous to trim or clip anything just yet. It probably wouldn't hurt it if I pulled like 2 of them beginning fan leaves from the bottom.? And I'm looking at the Fox farm fertilizers trying to decipher what when if and all that unknown fun stuff which I best make some decisions because it's gonna flower soon enough. And I'ma be keeping my eyes out for baby balls!! Lol. Wondering if any of you guys tried snipping any the hermaphrodite parts off before they managed to mature? Could it prevent seeds? Just curious..

I trimmed her fan leaves in week 4ish, she didn't show any signs of shock or distress. Other than she slowed her growing for a few days. She's back to herself thankfully, all pretty green and Happy. Been studying the next steps in the coming weeks, and comparing nutrients/fertilizers from multiple brands and their reviews and results from sources and other diaries. The little gnats don't bother me much, I kill them when I catch em. And for shits n giggles I strapped a swath of backwards duct tape on the sides of the plant pot, see if I can catch them tiny flying speckles. Fun fun. ☺️🍀❤️

She's been growing like crazy the last 2 weeks, new leaves, new stems, new little things almost everywhere here n there. It was brought to my attention that my light source isn't strong enough to get her to the harvest line. I didn't think about that ever really, considering you read so many things about autoflowers not requiring light schedule and other misinformed information. 😶 So I don't know, this is my 1st plant so I'm just glad she's not dead. I managed to get a better more equipped grow light for my box, a vivosun. I didn't get the big awesome one or anything like that. Just 100w, no dimmer one. Gotta start somewhere. I started feeding her every other watering with Fox Farm grow big, big bloom and added a little open says me this last round. I've been warned she's "gonna be a big girl",. She's all natural, I've only trimmed off a few excess leaves, nothing crazy. Happy Mardi Gras🍾🦐

Got a @VIVOSUN light 100w for the big box. Moved things around cuz critical 47 is getting big. I'm not sure when flowering starts or what it really looks like. I did try to get picks of the tiny changes I've been seeing under the canopy. She's starting to grow a lot of new arms and leaves and filling up. I started to add a little tiger bloom every other water and some FF open says me. Not a lot just thought it might trigger her to start flowering perhaps. She's an auto so she'll do her own thing when she's ready. However I want to be ready too. Lol I've been thinking about getting some red lights that have a 700n to add to the lighting? Yes no? 🤔 Maybe.. 😏 one things for sure, my house smells amazing 💚💚💚

I'm proud of my first grow. I think she looks great. I'm still learning everything and then some. I'm glad I chose to grow an auto first, it's given me better confidence in my gardening skills. An has allowed me to understand how this plant grows, the growth structure and to witness all the subtle changes. It's been enjoyable ☺️ It's funny cuz I don't like to kill anything yet I'm looking forward to it when it comes to harvesting. Kinda a twisted relationship, protect her throughout her life just to kill and consume her in the end. A Hell of a way to be rewarded. 😆

She's getting sparkly. Time doesn't seem to be effecting us none. We're chilling. Them little first sets of white hairs are starting to curl inwards and changing into little orange hairs. And there's a few new sets of white hairs I do believe that's a good thing. Every now and then I find a dead leaf. It doesn't seem to be an issue. So I just give her what's recommended and I'm bad about being on time with any of most of it. It's good tho. We're all happy here.

Other than trimming a leaf here n there, I've let the beautiful critical 47 grow el natural. I like to touch her and sniff my fingertips.. 💚 Her growth has slowed, every now and then I find a little crippled or shriveled leaf. Which I don't think is anything to worry about, most plants do drop leaves. It's when the top ones are showing issues, that's your worry zone. If anything I know she's got plenty of nitrogen due to the dark green foliage. However the lower canopy has a lighter green because the more important half the top, takes away from the bottom. As long as the fruit is getting the attention, that's what's important. However, the green isn't so light it's lacking. It's just a slight shade of the green atop. Eyes are the window to the soul. Use em. 😉

I want to thank you Paul @New420GuySeeds for this beautiful plant. She's getting close to that time. I'm both excited and a little sad cuz we've done this grow together. Kinda a fucked up reality. Critical 47 has a few lower branches that are starting to drop due to the weight of the bud. I been curious if I could lop off some these baby branches at this stage without consequences.? Anybody know? Maybe sample the bud before the harvest.. would be nice. Ive been doing my best at snapshots of trichomes so I may get a better ETA of the due date. This will be my first ever to harvest anything more than a common cherry tomato. Lol. Any useful advice is welcome, start a chat if ya wanna!! I love company! And hey we already have a shared common interest! Gotta start somewhere. So critical 47 is sticky and smells up the whole house, no deficiencies noticed, growth has stopped as far as I can tell, yet she is still feeding without waste. I changed my regular fertilizer from the fox farm to Dr JimZ. With good results. The fox farm is a great fertilizer as well. I do mix the chicken soup for the soil with the fox farm trio. Cha Ching beastie blooms and open sesame. Dr. JimZ Bloom Kaboom is a once a month application for flowering plants. Good stuff. If I were to grow her again I would, an I would definitely put her in a larger container without the burlap sack. Don't use that crap it's no good. Lol. It's created a protective base under the soil for pests to dwell. I'm sure when I pull it all up there's gonna be a super complexed colony of mighty gnats, I think of some ancient Greece city with all the thrills and shit. Lol. Gnat overlords. My own damn fault. Gnats aren't that bad, they're just eating dead roots. There's definitely worse pests to have in the garden. "Nicole, how do you keep them so dark green?" Easy. I put used coffee grounds into my cannabis plants top soil. If I don't make a tea with it. You can find these helpful recipes @RoyalQueenSeeds with all the good info and instructions. I also make banana brew for my girls, it's rich with everything they need. Helps them grow strong. The coffee grounds help them maintain that healthy green glow (nitrogen). Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week. Take care.
