1st oct
5 fem seeds dark heated incubated (rootit). all five took 2 - 5 days to pop.
7th
tansfered to (capped soaked dried ph set) 4" cubes with vents open just water 24hr
13th
pebbled incubator lid off 65% hum 25 deg 18hrs (piranha 2 ml per cube hole)
warming pebbles and liquid in incubator base to encourage root growth. feeding mix 1 or 2 65 ml injected. (if needed) 2nd at hr 12-16 wetting base before night to keep hum and wet roots. stems are hardening with good growth. still very light breeze as fragile but full. once hardened i will change to drip irigation for veg. dont over feed at this stage if slight purple on stems nodes n veins as nitrates can be boosted later. roots are the key and the aim is to get a thick dense carpet. my next stage is feeding by drip, aim is to flush old nuts using gravity which inturn draws in air. when moving to NFT table the cube cannot be in direct contact with NFT film but sit on roots.
NFT should have oxygenated feed slowly flowing down through carpet of roots, avoiding pooling but enough to draw in to cube what it needs. so constant watering/ feeding and breathing hence bigger crops.
im not sure of there individual genome variation yet i will clone all 5 before bloom
on schedule but still hardening, new mix today. starting misting leaves after lights out. remember you only mist the under side making sure not to over spray (no drips) nitrozime and gf root with wetting agent (breaks water down) we want thick leaves for health lower humid produces wider leaves as it tries to capture more moisture from the air this creates more area on the leaf to absorb more light. the genomes are showing
i have 1 sativa leaning, 2 tall but compact indica leaning with good nut uptake 2 on catchup but both more indica.
i wont change much this week untill fully hardened and a good root system
moved to drip out of incubator to spread out. good roots and hardened and will be ready to clone next week b4 bloom. over watered 1 as it sat in a sump in the incubator but resolved by moving onto drip on a tray.
drip is 1 - 1.5ltr p/h (20min) x 4 (changed to 15 min)
i mist with nitrozyme and gf grow stim 15 drops of wetting agent in 1.5ltrs to remove water tension, but using solo spray with a cup at the end as ionic wetting agent is not to go into the water system.
The weathers got cold and after service i left the rad on full in b room, overheated (27deg) n drooped a little but resolved. still to set up bloom n move things about, ed ros super bud seeds to germ and i need to pick a mother but being purple in a factor not resolved until i see all 5 bloom n test.
fitted new rvk 150 x 600mm air filter, new pump tigger pump for drip for 2m height and ive turned on the dehumidifier for heat. im ready to clone a sample of each one probably take 10. misting with ionic spray prior to cloning.
setting up the NFT table clean and 40ltrs to sit for 24hrs to remove chlorine, incubator setup vac'd the growroom and added in/outlet to the outside.
It is supposed to be on 24 hours. Can you turn it off during lights out? Probably, or you could turn it on a couple of times during that period, but it will always be best to leave ir on constantly.
5 on NFT 1.5m table, hps dual spec 600w with wing reflector, 150MM rvk fan and filter with dehumidifier, water heater airstone and circulation pump.
40ltrs in tank, some do 24hr watering but instructions said turn off at night? ive done both but 24hr stops top heavy falls at the end. leaving sleave on cube then sealed into table with cube caps cubes cannot touch water but sit on roots which water flows through.
added 2 ltrs fresh water mid week.
tailing at weekend but not topping as young plants. 1 is very small last to pop 1 sickly clone, 2 are quick growing and popped early with good hight, 2 are inbetween. only 8cm between them all but 2 have lots of arms and spreading out.
#numbered as the 5 seeds popped:
#1) massive plant thats very strong, she was easy to clone with indica genome but sativa hight and thick stems (looks like a big indica) lots of arms.
#2) she is inbetween #1 and #3 more like #1 than #3 but medium hight, start of shorter arms not as easy to clone.
#3) massive like #1 but sativa genome and again not as easy to clone and droops easy.
#4) exactly the same as #2.
#5) tiny too compact arms struggling to reach net struggled getting clones as too small. could be waste of space tbh but no decision until crop.
all had good roots but can be sensitive my next step is to remove any arms that have not reached the net and any growth on arms below arms cola, this includes damaged leaves not healthy, this will stunt growth for 2 days but the idea is to push the energy too the buds closer to light, it takes alot of energy from main buds to bloom;these lower buds, so removing them makes her concentrate on her top buds and cola.
id class them as a medium skill level.
