Looks like Runtz bounced right back from the super crop!
I honestly figured the earthbox girls would be stretching more and have better growth. I think I have been over watering by watering down the reservoir too fast after it’s gone. Im going to let it stay dry for a day or two before filling again like I was previously doing on the last runs.
Day 14 flower!
Hitting 60 DLI today will be pushing 60 DLI for the next week and half to 2 weeks. Then slowly working back down until harvest.
The two Runtz phenos are just absolutely killing it in the 30 gallon no till with coco loco and strawberry fields top dressed with craft blend and compost under the migro array 2 and SF1000. Ive never seen plants grow so big, so fast. I’m already running out height and they just started stacking buds. I will probably have to do some more super cropping to keep things in order.
definitely messed up not doing two plants per earthbox. Last run it was just such a pain getting access to the plants in the back so I could keep up with the canopy but I also vegged longer too.
Well when I left the grow room yesterday I slid the migro lights up the last bit they’d go. They were around 5 inches away. When I checked this evening when I got home from work both plants had grown vertical so much they were touching the lights and unfortunately I did get some burning on the leaves. Nothing has shown on the buds yet but I would imagine I will see the effects. I had to rehang all the lights a different way to get the last 6 inches out of the grow space. I really hope their stretch just completely stops. I figured a good lollipop would slow them down a little bit but I think it sped up growth. I couldn’t believe the growth over night
The girls are getting way too tall, would you guys recommend super cropping this late in flower? (Almost 28 days) or should I just keep dimming the lights?

Personally, I would choose methods that reduce stress.
Raise your fixtures, add a fan on them to keep ballast cool and this will help prevent your plant tops from burning as well.
You can then gain a few more inches by placing a trellis above and slowly working it down over time.
Try to focus onspreading the tops towards the inner walls of the tent from center point. That way if they do continue to grow, they might be able to grow above the fixture.
With my current grow, where I ran into a similar issue, I researched as many possible solutions and there was one I wasn't able to try which was running straight blue lights until stretching has ceased since I didn't have any readily available.
As far as dimming... I didn't. Fans on the lights and ballast worked miracles on preventing burn. Plants are much more robust in this stage. I just kept an ever watchful eye on them.
The girls are getting way too tall. The stretch they had was insane. Some branches have grown up past the lights. Should I supercrop this late in flower? (28 days) or just dim the lights so they don’t burn the buds? Most of the canopy is at about 60dli at 70% power
Man I had the same problem in my 1 meter high box with pineapple express. The plant touched the lamp and some leaves were electrocuted.
I did supercropping at the beginning of flowering, and in the middle of flowering and she feels great. At first it may look scary, as if the buds will now break the stem from their weight, but they quickly get stronger and even start to rise later.
The most important thing is to knead the stem well and do it no sooner than 24 hours after watering! It is best when the pot is dry.
Start of week 6 flower, girls are at 52.5-55 DLI this week on 11/13 light schedule. Hoping to get these babies finished by may!
Runtz sure did put a work load on me through stretch but damn I love to see all that growth. I tried to flower them early so I wouldn’t have had the running out vertical space problem but they still just stretched 5x-6x their size from when I first flipped to 12/12. They’ve been some really amazing plants to grow!
Oreo definitely growing some fat top colas. Right now it looks like her main cola is gonna be fatter than CC’s main cola from last run. I love it but it’s starting to worry me a bit.
And Sour strawberry just smelling absolutely delicious. Best smelling plant in the grow room for sure
They stretched like no other plant I’ve grown. Especially for only vegging for 30 days. (Left) pheno has nice beautiful denseeee buds with mostly gas flavor with some subtle creamy notes. The other pheno came out less dense with fatter buds with some fruit and cream flavor.
Update: Man the left Runtz pheno is tasting so good after a few weeks of curing. She’s tied rn for my favorite smoke from this run. She is loud and gassy. She is also super sticky
A little disappointed in how she turned out. Was a tough one for me. Below Average looking buds, decent smells, but her buds are super dense. Probably the densest of all the plants.
nice, tight, dense buds with a candy strawberry smell. Still waiting to try the buds after the cure. I did try the lower buds that didn’t go into the bags on day 11 of the dry but haven’t tried them since. Gonna wait a few months and let them go for a long cure before I start smoking. IMO, They definitely have the best bag appeal from this run.
She smells exactly like the last time I grew her. The smell/taste is so good. It is my favorite flower from this run. The flavor is almost a salty caramel up front when you first inhale but then its just heavy fuel on the mouth and throat
@SkunkleDamo, please look at my week 5 veg pictures. It was actually day 1 of flower. She stretched normal; around 2-3x her size from flipping. I messed up and should’ve vegged a little longer or grown two plants per earthbox to get max yeild in the 3x3’s but I’m trying to stay legal lol
I would love to grow this (runtz)! Looks nice and lush. My Ohio growmie got one due for harvest next week and it has some amazingly fat colas. Wish you the same!
@@CRANKSTER_420, how close are you to south east Ohio? lol I’ve gotta buncha clones I took from Runtz rooting right now and I definitely can’t use them all
@McGrowin, I still use Gaia green every now and again. It’s what I started growing with. I’ve just done no till with build a soil and honestly it’s made things so much easier and I feel like I notice faster growth
