I'm using RO water, adding calmagic to around 300-400 ppm then adding v1 and v2 around 30% strength, ph up 5ml at a time intim ph is 6.0.
I make up 20 gallons and pushed through the media to fully saturate. Then make another 20 for the week. At this stage I am watering for 3 min after lights on. Allowing it to dry a bit each day to hurry roots along.
They really took off for only 7 days. A little dark but no burning. I've added a feeding at 5am. Maybe the blueish leaf color is potassium def=more feed. IMO.
Feed at 7pm for 3 min and 5am for 1 min. See how that goes. Not concerned either way. Switched to floramax to reduce white slime developers in my reservior..
They really took off again. Mixing 40 gallons this week. At the end of this week I'll flush with the remaining solution and then make a new reservior up. I had some slight white slime in my reservior so switched from calmagic to fliramax cal mag and fe as it doesn't contain any organics.
Continue feeding at 7pm for 3 min and 5am for 1 min. I'll be trimming off the largest fan leaves and adding the 1st screen before end of week 4.
This strain, I've grown before in soil. It's twisty leaves and all that are mostlty it's genetics. It really responds well to defoliation (extreme in flower). In Veg to reduce humidity and get light and the co2 into plant.
The plants are doing well. I lollipopped, install the 1st screen on the 1st day of week 4. Mid week I added the upper screen prepared for the end of week 4 to flip..pictures show how they progressed through the week 4 getting ready for the flip..the nute schedule during this week was the same veg nutes as the week before.
I flushed with flower nutes, purging out the veg nutes on day 6 of week 4.
1 weeks of flower, not very exciting. Plants pushing up. Leaves are replenished and hopefully the plants efforts to grow new leafs will reduce the stretch going forward.
2 full weeks of flower today..(actually day 15 from flip). The pistils started at 1.5 weeks into it. Plants pushed up and i supercropped about 15 tops that bolted attempting to keep the canopy flat.
1 small problem was discovered that is likley the cause for the bolting colas. The AC infinity temp sensor slide down into the canopy. I suspect a few days of higher temps as it was not regulating my daytimes and colder nights caused more stretch than I was hoping.
Leaves are replenished even more. On Day 20, I'll strip all the fully grown fans leaves with a stem. And any weak chutes I missed day 1.
Day 20 of flower, was time to shwazze these plants again. Was fun tranquil. The Mrs looked in and said, man that's allot of work..without skipping a beat I replied, "You mean allot of love."
Day 20 in theory, the plant still has time to recover some leaf, and redirect energy to developing the bud sites I left behind. Whether that's what is really going on or not, this is a great way to grow mainly top shelf buds instead of larfy bud. My goto method when I like a strain enough to put into the big tent.
I probably removed 50 plus bud site whole branches that just didn't quite make it to the top net in combination with over crowded within a square, also lost 4 mains to a broken top..elbows got in the way reaching over..cut those branches entirely off.
Rather than bending, I simple removed the weakest lower branches.
In addition to this, any short shoots that were going to hug the main cola eventually growing into the main buds. This reduces risk of mold and allows the bud to receive light all-around.
Updated my nutrition data. Converting from grams to tsp. Basically, I'm running the floraflex nutrition schedule at 75%.
Adding floramax cal mag fe to RO water to 275ppm before adding b1, b2, then bulky b, then ph up until 5.8-6. Why 75%? I started at 20% and worked my way up. I may get to 100% the schedule but increase only if I see deficiencies..
4 week completed of flower tomorrow. Plant has stopped pushing up. Young fan leaves are relaxed and healthy..stretching has slowed, if not stopped on the highest colas and a few lower have made it through the 2nd screen. Happy to be in week 5, feed and environment stays the same for the mext 3 weeks, time to 😎.
The buds will go through some rapid changes next few weeks and then week really fatten up week 8. That's my experience with this strain anyways. First time in the big tent so only time will tell.
Day 35, plants are doing well.
I increased my 4 lights up to 100% a couple half days this past week. Timer kicked out for 2hrs on the second day. Weird as I run my lights at 100% early veg,18hrs a day, without issue. 5' away and I let the plants grow to the light.. Not stressing this atm.
I then set the outside lights to 100% and inside 2 lights to 75%. PPFD was around 1000 PPFD at the canopy. Usually, at this stage of flower, I grow with the light at 850PPFD with my outer lights set to 75% and my insides set to 66%. 4 bc blonde lights put out a very even spread of light with no hots spots the 4x8.
I do periodically push the light intensity a bit at this stage, to help get the right amount of light deep into the canopy for a few hours a day to help bulk up the lowest sites. I think it works, they seam allot harder..
After a full day at 100% and 75%, I also quickly saw my upper fan leaves starting to take a slight taco shape, indicating the intensity was a little high for too long... No burning, tho. This reminded me that it can't be high noon for 12hrs a day.. not with my setup.
I am going to cautiously push a couple days next week with my outside lights at 100% and my insides at 75%. I run the insides less % as the light overlapping has the ppfd very even.
I will try to Increase my humidity to 65 RH for the next week and set CO2 set at 1000. See if I can push for week 6.5-7.5 without causing stress. First sign of stress again, I'll ride it out at the last weeks 850ppfd then 650 PPFD then 400 the last 2 weeks..
At these settings and being week 6 of a 70 day strain, I'm expecting the plants to drink more and bulk up larger than ever. ..I'll test my coco before feed cycle to see if it it is drying out a bit between feeding..Decrease the volume per event and increase frequency as needed.
I also plan to do a flush at the beginning of this week. Monday using full nutrients flush to push out any build-ups of salts in the coco that might cause a nutrients imbalance moving forward.
Basically the flush will be..feed to runoff, wait 20 min, then feed another 10 gallons through all 8 plants until I get 10 gallons out the drain. Measuring the EC to be certain 1.9EC in, is 1.9EC out. I do the flush hand feeding with a 2 liter measuring cup and syringe the runoff from each plant.
Day 46, plants are slowing down. They'll be one more push, but this will not be like the last week and a half so itsbtime to slow things down.
I see some signs that i need to reduce the nutrients. Signs being slight tip burn on a very few the fans with a hook upwards indicating transpiration doesn't balance with light intensity, more noticeable and trustworthy signs are the darker shiney/waxy leaves inside the canopy. I'm not sure if my video uploaded or its quality while I write this, so I will comment on that later.
Being only 3 weeks until harvest I've also cut the CO2. If looking close, the upper buds are starting to throw new pistils and elongate indicating that the co2 and heat may cause foxtailing if I push any further.
I've reduced co2 from 850 to 650 and light from 1000ppfd, to 850ppfd and then this morning to 700ppfd. End of next week I will reduce even further to around 550ppfd before the last week at 400ppfd during the flush. All this lowers the temperature and slows transpiration.
I've reduced the EC from 2 to 1.7EC and turned on my mister as well to maintain humidity to 55% . One less variable to worry about..humidity was fluctuating 47-53% last week. Higher humidity also slowing transpiration of water and nutrients. Hoping these changes have set the girls up to only get just the right amount to finish pretty..
Next week, tomorrow the nutrient mix will have full tilt instead of the bulkyB.
Today I'm commenting at the beginning of this week. Ill post pictures near the end of the week and make comment if something is noteworthy.
I switched from floromax cal+mag+fe to the floraflex version due to its volume,
concentration and price. Growers I know also said it runs as clean as the floromax.
I also changed to full tilt from the bulkyb a week earlier than I planned.
The mac1 mother plant was a 10 week strain to mature but I'm seeing that these girls are further along in this environment and substrate. Their mom was flowered in soil and under an sf4000 with green planet medi one nutes.
I am eagerly interested in the difference in the final smoke.
I also flushed from over 2000ppm (cause of darkened green leaves) to 1500ppm pushing 4 gallons per plant at 1400ppm solution. Measuring runoff of each plant.
Then I mixed up another 40 gallons of RO water and nutrients to enter the full tilt portion of the schedule for the next 2-3 weeks. I will run this schedule for 2-3 weeks before a 1 week flush depending on plants maturity.
I had lowered my ec last week with the bulkyb..this week I'm back up to 1.9-2.0 as their is a major reduction in nitrogen..most of the EC comes from the 240 grams of fulltilt. Because I flushed, if I see burn I'll increase my lights intensity again. Always a balancing act..
I added some pictures since last weekend. Buds are going through the final swell now. The leaves are starting to dry a bit but still cool to the thumb suggesting they are still tranpiring welle..no burning. 3 weeks left and still seems dialed in.
9 days since my last update. Most of the trichomes are still clear with very few cloudy.
The buds are throwing a few new white pistils as alast-ditch effort hoping to be pollenated.
End of life in a few weeks and I'll expect a few minor chunk like foxtails duing these weeks as new calyx swells over the pistils
Upper oldest leaves are starting to dry out a bit. Slightly brittle but still green and cool to the touch indicates they're still transpiring.
Definitely getting more frost.. I'll get some trichome pics up Friday.
I've lowered my res to 1.7ec. Nest week will be the same..
My lights are at 700 ppfd until friday..600ppfd then.
My feed frequency is 1 gallon per plant per day, 3 min 5x per 12hr of lights on..runoff is 1.9ec at 1630ppm in and 1910ppm out..with ph of 6.2..
I'm keeping my co2 on at 500ppm for another week. When I lower my lights to 450ppfd I'll run the co2 at 400 until the end..simply maintain Ambient co2 a little more evenly. Otherwise the tend can dip below 400.
Typical of the Mac1, I'm seeing a mix of rounded and cone shape buds. Very frosty..the lower pistils have receded into calyxes and are also hard and frosty..looking like it's gonna be a bumper crop.
Trichomes day 55 are as expected. 2 weeks to go at least.
This is the 3rd week running the floraflex full tilt after Starting it a week earlier than the schedule..
I'm hopeful to see some amber trichomes in 1.5 weeks then I will flush until I see some fading fan leaves or 20% turning amber with the remaining mostly cloudy.
I've run the floraflex full tilt up until now. Just changed my reservior to RO water with floraflex cal mag fe and ph to 5.9.
..lights were reduced to 33% 2 days ago. I have 3.5 days remaining and will cut the feeds on Thursday first light.
I am excited to harvest on Friday. Looks like it will be an easy trim. I plan on taking only the fans leaves, leaving the sugars in tact to protect the trichomes from falling off during the cure and then again storage. This strain is just starting to fade midway and showing some calmag def with maybe 3 top. Buds are solid and very sticky. The smell is really intense with citris and sweet gassy sting to the nose. By all accounts she's ready.
I'll keep this diary going after the chop to have record of my drying, trimming and curing. Updates will be on or after Sunday once all the work is done and my grow cleaned up. Its spring here and maintaining 50-55rh while drying will be a Breese. I expect to hang them for 7-10 days before bucking them down..then for the burping until 62% is reached. Then cure 3 weeks before a smoke report.
I shut the lights off friday, ran 24hrs dark , woke at 4am today and setup the drying 4x4. All trimming and hanging was complete by 9:45am. I setup a 6" AC infinity target to 60RH and run at 1 below 60 for the time being. Its been several hours and its holding 65. The ambient is 55rh at 19 deg..pretty safe so not too concerned about drying too fast. I put a small oscillator tower fan under the hanging buds as well and not directly onto the weed.
All and all, harvesting the 8 mac1 was a Breese. I started setting up at 4am and was finished at 9:45. The bud to leaf ratio was decent and the turgid leaves were crisp snapping off.
In 1 picture theres only 2, 5 gallon pots lightly filled with trimmed fan leaves. The sugar leaves were sticky, i cleaned my scissors 2x per plant. All the buds are hard and heavy. Smell is "off the charts" of gassy lemons. I dont do wet weight. Will add more information regarding dry weight later.
Only 3 branches were smothered out and were hard but undeveloped with white pistils. There was even a bud all the way down at the truck was pretty swollen as well.
I am very impressed with the floraflex hydro setup. I had everything taken down washed, dried and my next soil run in this tent by noon.

I had everything taken down washed, dried and my next soil run in this tent by noon. This week was as expected..trichomes continued to mature..I eneded up at about 10%-20 amber different from bud to bud. Easiest harvest I've ever had and very little waste.
Thanks, I used the Active Aqua Adjustable Flow Submersible/Inline Pump 800 GPH. I don't use any of the flow regulators from the bubbler. Wide open..back at the tank I put a small 90 deg elbow at the top of the to allow air into the line after it turns off. Stops it from siphoning..
