It's been an exciting week. A lot of reading and research, particularly into lighting, nutrition and growing media. I opted for Coco Soil, as it has no artificial feed etc and 100% natural and only using spring water with the added nutrients. For the seedling stage I decided to use a self watering tray, as over watering is a major risk. The seedlings only take what they need. I will continue with this type of method throughout the grow.

I have lost the LSD strain. It succumbed to a weak stem, we all have that problem from time to time lol, so this diary will be with the Peyote Critical. Everything is going well for the rest. I have placed buckets of water into the tent now to increase humidity, as advised by a fellow member, so hopefully that will help a lot too. The first leaves are starting to take shape and fill out. I'm hoping to get them out of the seedling tray in the near future and get them into their own pots. The next 2 weeks are going to be very exciting as I hope to see them develop into some sexy females. They are already feminised but they'll begin to look very good.

Dam! Where do I start? Firstly I started to get yellow leaves. Secondly I also seem to have stunted the growth. The yellow leaves were due to lack of oxygen. I am using coco soil and I did not realise that the soil can hold up to six times more water than normal soil so that caused a few issues. I also managed to cut the roots when I transferred the plants to new pots. This has also delayed the growth. I think I have managed to get it in time and everything seems to be going OK but I feel the next 2 weeks will be the big tell. I expected the babies to be fuller and taller but hey! I make the mistakes so you don't have to lol. I've no real questions to ask because I think I solved the issue with the help of a fellow grower and a bit of research.

Grow Questions

I looking to put a 20L dehumidifier into my tent (1.2x1.2x2.0) Is it best outside or inside of the tent? It also has an ioniser function. Is it best to turn this on or leave it off also. I'm having humidity issues. It's not overly high 65% but I would prefer it to be 50/55%

If you are exhausting the air of the tent outside into the room, then it does not matter if the dehumidifier is in or out. Before getting the dehumidifier, try raising the lights out temperatures that will keep the humidity down. A small heater will be cheaper to buy and operate.

I've had a lot of trouble with these plants just lately. As I have been growing in Coco I did not realise that I really needed to add Calcium and Magnesium to their water, as the coco will deprive the plants of these vital nutrients. However, it is a learning curve and I am really enjoying the science behind it all. I hope that my experience with this will help a few of you from making the same mistakes.

After the switch to soil from Coco and adding Cal/Mag there seems to be no stopping her! She is a resilient wee thing, and I swear she grows bigger ever single day. I'm glad that I stuck with her and took the time to research the issue. I know people say "it's a weed, it'll be fine" but I'm of the mindset that if you go into something you try to do your own research and learn from mistakes. I've had a lot of help from Undercover Grower and he's been a great asset for advice too. This is a great community.

Holy Hell this has been a stressful grow. As the name suggests I am a noob. I have had soil/coco issues then not enough nutrients, then too much. The Peyote Critical has proved to be one hell of a hardy strain and put up with all my mistakes. She has finally settled down and is growing at a tremendous speed and really starting to fill out. She must be a good 9 inches tall, I'll measure her next week. I'm also starting to get a smell off her too, which I was quite surprised about at this early stage.

As with my other plants I am also giving her spring water. LST is doing well too, and she seems to be responding too. I was extremely worried about starting LST on her at such a late stage. However, I found doing it when the lights first go on in the morning a lot easy, as she seems to be more easy to bend. I don't know if that's a thing or my perception but I'll carry on with it that way for now. I can't wait to get her into flower and sees what happens but patience is the key for me here, and that's difficult enough.

She is getting rather big now and I'm getting more concerned that when I put her into flower she may be too big. She is about 15 inches and growing daily. The LST is not bothering her at all. She comes back within hours.

Finally, after the issues with the coco soil and the slow growth I have put this sexy ladie into bloom. As mentioned in my other diary I will be continuing with the veg nutes for another couple of weeks, and I'll be adding the bloom nutes in a week's time. I am really looking forward to seeing the first signs of flowers. I read that it can take a good few days but it's like a child waiting for Christmas lol. So, the next few weeks are going to be very exciting. Any tips at this stage would be very welcome.

She is getting fairly big now. I can see almost daily growth. I've added the canna Flores to the daily routine and they are looking really well. As with the Liberty Haze I have trimmed the bottom third to help with air flow and making sure the nutrients get to where they're most needed. I hopefully have a few decent bud sites on the plant now and ill just have to wait and see what she has to offer.

Happy New Year Everyone. I trust you all had a great time over the festivities. My pride and joy is growing really well with no obvious issues which is always a good sign. I am now giving her PK13-14 along with the other nutrients, and she's soaking them all up. The buds are growing slow and steady. It's got to the point where I could quite easily spend most of my free time in the tent, possibly play a little music maybe talk sweet to her lol. It feels like I have another woman, well that's what the Mrs says anyway. Lol. As stated in my other diary I will be looking at the next stage and what to do when it comes to flushing the plants to make sure the end result can be the best it can be. I'll fill in all the information here anyway. So, that's this weeks update and not much to report other than I need to be more patient. Have a Great New Year and I am wishing you all the best with your own grow(s)

They look a bit droopy because it's watering day today. I only water them every other day, and it seems to work for me. I'm still giving them all Natural Spring Water everytime I water them due to the natural minerals in the water and no Chlorine in the water and other cleaning chemicals from tap water. It's not as expensive as it sounds, as most supermarkets have a cheaper variety. I just adjust the PH to between 5.8 to 6.2 particularly due to the nutrients I'm feeding them, as they dissolve fully in this PH range. The buds are coming on nicely and I do not seem to be getting much more growth upwards, which is cool by me. I have put gardening canes to most of the plants, as they seem to be getting daily heavy and I would not want to lose any branches now (don't know the correct name for them). Anyway not a great deal to report this week just that everything seems to be going well fingers crossed.

Well, I've added my dehumidifier to the tent and it is doing a great job. It's a 20L one and really circulates the air and the humidity is down to a reasonable level. Temp was a bit high because I had to close off the air for 20 minutes whilst I did a little housekeeping and watering. No major issues, maybe a little nutrient burn but thanks to a mate I've combated that.... Hopefully lol.

Here we are again and another week done. It's pretty standard stuff now and I'm just waiting for another couple of weeks then I'll start the flush. I would of thought that the buds would be getting bigger quicker but I suppose I have another 4 weeks until harvest so hopefully see them grow much bigger.

Well, I've missed a week due to a holiday. The photos are not great quality, as my phone blew up due to a faulty travel plug and it was straight out of the pack too. Anyway, came back from holiday and most of the plants had bent over due to the weight of the buds too. Not a bad issue I suppose and none of them snapped. I've spent the last few days sorting them out albeit very crudely. They are starting to fill out quite well and not long now until the flush.

Well, I'm a few days after my normal slot due to work etc but hey you don't want to hear about that lol. Everything is ticking along nicely. All my Trichomes are still clear, I don't know whether I should be pleased or not but it's certainly looking like I will have a couple of extra weeks to go which will probably take me about 7 to 10 days after the advertised flowering time. This apparently is a regular normal thing that happens. I don't know what I'm more excited about, am I excited about the harvest or starting a new grow lol

Well that's it folks. It has come the time for harvest. It was a sad, sad time for me but there's good times ahead. I will fill in all the "harvest" information over the coming days. I am doing a whole plant dry. This will take a little bit longer but the results will be good. Thanks for following along. There will be a new diary coming soon.

Hi, its true higher Temperatures lower the Humidiy , but then take care everything above 28 degree( and you already have27) is in the " stresszone" .weed likes temps between 20-28 most. Happy growing

dont worry too much about bending. monstercropping i think its called when in flower too. i often bend first then roll the stem between thumb and finger ,crushing it to makr it softer and floppy. it will still get nutes up to it so dont worry. they create knuckles to support weight . i have just done same to a few of my ladies. they recover fine . even if you snapped one by accident , you can tape it up well and still get them to harvest. do it slow and she will bend and relax into the new position ( sounds like wedding night advice ,sorry) if u squash a stem firmly enough you will hear a crack that does similar job to the rolling. will show you in photos on my next barneys farm journal update as i do one as an example

@Ganjagrandaddy, yeah mawe, I've managed to get it down to a reasonable percentage. The leaves are getting quite sticky now. I think I have about another 30 days in flower, as they are roughly 30 days since the switch. I hoping for a great yeild.
Ganjagrandaddy

and they will mate. look into flushing myth before you deny her the food and growth loss potential. go for a slower dry could make all the diff to her swelling period. I am a firm believer that flushing was to save industrial farms 2 weeks of nutes , which leads to bigger profits overall. Our harvests are massively different to theor needs. Science does not really support flushing, even with all the hype of " agents" to buy. please at least have a read up before taking a action

@Ganjagrandaddy, I recently had to chop a plant only 2 days after feeding her , she was a hermit so danger of pollinating my tent, I didn’t get much as it was 3 weeks early but I was really surprised at how smooth it was and how even the burn was. I honestly think it’s because I didn’t over feed her and so will feed my girls up till last week now to see, so I agree from this one early harvest that it didn’t seem to make any difference to the taste. Except maybe extreme cotton mouth,,, but that could just be the weed lol.
Homegrown79
Homegrown79commented6 years ago
@Ganjagrandaddy, I will definitely have a good read into flushing. I have seen 2 sides to the theory but more research is needed. I am still about 25 days from harvest anyway so hopefully get something good.

The Bigger the Plants get, the more HUmidity they transpirate. Is the HUmidity only in your tent=? or into your area so high=? I would place the dehumifidier in the Tent. And if its only in the tent so dampy, give a circulation and a good airflow, maybe its possible to open the tent=? If the Humidity is everywhere so high, keep the tent close and Put the dehumidifier inside.I wont use the ioniation function . dont see any good effects here
