I grew sage and sour 20 years ago.
Always wanted to do a pure sage.
Heard sage does well organic, but my organic growing knowledge is limited.
Have also heard sage is a late bloomer. Can confirm that. They both look like they are in week 3-4 of other strains. I expect to take it to week 12.
1 plant is in a 5 gallon pot, 90 day beanstalk controlled release fertilizer. Some flower boosters by way at atami bloombastic which I got as a Freebie from my local grow shop.
Second plant is in a 3 gallon pot, just organic gaia green, original application mixed into the soil. About a week ago the second application scratched into the surface and watered with some molasses.
Super stretchy, one of the tallest plants I've grown. Wasn't topped but is still growing very wide side growth. Looking to grow it again, will Scrog in a large container
Will update coming weeks 🌳
Coming in on week 7
Top dressed another round of gaia green.
They are starting to bulk flowers after slow start. Heavy sativa leaning. I'm guessing I'm going 12 weeks.
3 gallon pot is organic. Really should have been in a 5 gallon as well, but I was limited on space originally. 4tbls of all purpose. 2tbl of the other ferts.
5 gallon is with beanstalk controlled release 90 day ferts. Interesting product, 1 pot bag designed for a 5 gallon planter. 73 days of fertilizer. Will start adding advanced nutrients to finish it off.
Great strain this. Very bulletproof. Other than the slow flowering start. Prefers lower nutes.
Also added 30 minutes of darkness to see what happens 🤷♂️
Week 8. Going at least 11 weeks, maybe 12. Trichs very clear still.
Might have to stake up main cola on 5 gallon soon. Night temps at 65f. Day temps between 72-77f.
3 gallon organic top dressed a few weeks back with gaia. Just water and a dash of Molasses this week for water. 2+ litres every 3 days or so.
5 gallon is day 79 of 90 day controlled release beanstalk fertilizer. This water 300ppm of bloombastic, overdrive and a molasses. Approx 4L of water every 3 days.
Can't wait to grow s.a.g.e. next fall with the knowledge I have now. First true 70/30 hybrid I've grown. Very slow flowering response. Will veg it longer next time, let it get ready for flowering.
Week 9 S.a.g.e by TH SEEDS
5 gallon beanstalk controlled release fertilizer. Day 85 o 90 days of CRF.
Added 2ml/L of overdrive. Buds and leaves are getting nice and sugary.
Went away for a few days, left the wife in charge of nothing, still managed to turn down the ventilation and the room spiked to day temps of 85f and she didn't refill the humidifier and things got down to 30% rh for a couple days as well. See some foxtailing on the 5 gallon plant. 3 gallon organic was unaffected.
I'll be home until the end now hopefully. Get day flowering temps lower this week.
Day 70
3 gallon organic: showing cloudy trichs with some amber heads. Put some ice cubes on the soil yesterday for shits and giggles. Will chop down in a few days.
I suspect shortening the light cycle pushed this plant to finish earlier. If I was impatient I could have taken it down in week 9.
5 gallon controlled release fertilizer: day 92 of the 90 day fert. Watered with overdrive 2ml/L 4litres. Mostly cloudy trichs, some clear.
Will take another week.
Cut veg light off. Way more sugary than the organic plant. Need to experiment with how to get that from organics.
Took both of the top colas at 71 days.
Cloudy/clear trichs on the 5 gallon salt
Cloudy/amber heads on the 3 gallon organic.
Leaving the rest of both plants to 77 day. Will also black them out for 3 days.
