First grow - yay! Decided on Power Kush and hoping for the best :) Purchased a little indoor set up and keeping it the garage away from prying eyes. Let's see how it goes
Re-planted her into a bigger grow bag (20l) filled with coco-perlite 50/50 and she seems happy. Giving her about 1.5l of water containing nutrients every 3 days
Decided to go with topping technique and did the cut this week.; not sure if it was too soon but all looks good so far - just noticed a slight yellow tinge on the tips of two of the big leaves but will keep a constant eye on her :)
Last week of defoliation and also just trying to keep the heat down in the tent - having quite a warm week and saw the leaves were starting to roll up a little bit.
Quite an adventurous week - we had a bit of an overheating situation, which highlighted some shortcomings that required immediate attention; i.e. a thermometer, better air intake, do not park the car in the garage (next to the tent) after a long trip on a hot summer's day. Some of the leaves show the damage but think we caught it just in time
Hoping to harvest in the next week or two; in the meantime will be feeding her just water from now on. Took some nice close-up photos of her this week :)
She's blooming nicely and packing on some more weight. The summer heat is ongoing and we're doing our best to keep the temperature in the tent below 30°C - better climate control would be nice but not in the budget at the moment.
This week we got a nice microscope to have a close inspection of the trichomes :) Some of the heads started falling over from the weight so we put in a bamboo stick to keep her upright. Think we're heading into the final stretch now! 😎
We're in the process of DIYing a drying box with sufficient airflow and we'll be cutting her down this week; the leaves have started turning yellow... Harvest is Coming!! 😬
Although we don't have anything to compare it to, we're extremely happy with the outcome and found our first grow to be easier than expected! We're enjoying her sweet and smooth taste and definitely recommend this lady for the evenings (ps. the hash is pretty potent!)
It was a huge help having the GrowDiaries community (big thanks to Mark from Dinafem too!) to assist with providing extremely useful information, tips and motivation. Next, we need to get hold of some Remo Chemo

I don’t think that you topped it too early. I usually wait till I have 6 nodes and then top the plants 🌱 at the 3rd node and remove everything except for the 2nd & 3rd nodes creating a plus shape. Bottom line is that there is no wrong way to top your plants. As long add they are healthy and growing well then you should be fine

Don't own a microscope but I do have a camera with a really good macro lens which will hopefully suffice in the meantime? I'm posting another update tomorrow for week 13 - let me see if I can get some close-ups of the trichomes which I can add to the post. Thank you for the advice, much appreciated 👊

Just going of the pictures I would say you have more than a week left. I would say closer to 3 week's which will give more time for those buds to fill out 👌

Also, do you own a microscope to check trichome colour and development?
This is the best way to judge the harvest window. Getting up close and personal with those trichomes really let's you see how they are maturing 👌
