Wk 1: Changed growing medium to 10% soil, 25% perlite, and rest of it is Coco coir. This is my first time using mostly Coco coir as a growing medium. Everything looks fine, seed took a little longer to pop up but I think it's because of the temperature of the tent. I was trying to keep it in the low 60's at night for the flowering plants in the same tent. So I think that caused her to not grow well.
I didn't feed her yet, which I think was a huge mistake, she's tiny. The temperature wasn't ideal for such a young plant and I didn't keep a humidity dome on her. I've permanently stunted her for sure. I've seen bigger plants at the end of one week!
WK3: Finally a little progress. I realized I should've been watering & feeding her more often in coco since coco is an inert growing medium. Also, I didn't buy the correct Sensi Bloom for Coco. I know she's stunted.
Week 4: Yes, she should be much bigger at a month old... But I'm just glad she survived since I made a series of mistakes in the beginning 2-3 weeks. She will probably be much smaller and yield a lot less. It's only my second grow and using a soiless medium which I have no experience with at all- Hopefully, I'll dial it in with the next set of grows.
Week 5- She's more like a plant from week 2-3 but she's finally taking off. She will probably stay in the Veg state a little longer since I stunted her the first couple of weeks. She's tiny for being almost 6 weeks old. I think she'll be in Veg for at least another week or 2. Roots look healthy tho, they keep trying to pop up.
Week 6: I cut down on her nutrients and boy she did not like it. Over night during Day 37 to 38, Mini is showing deficiencies. I can't keep up! I read that she's a heavy feeder, but wow, she really is... I'll have to continuously feed - so I'll go full strength nutes and feed on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, I think she's going into flower. I totally fudged-up this grow. Oh well, she'll only yield a small amount but hopefully it will be good. Next grow, I think I'll try her in FFOG soil so she's getting full nutes from the very beginning.
Oye, of course she's in flower!
Week7: Already, wow, time flies. She definitely is showing my early neglect, because she's tiny and now flowering, throwing out pistils. I can tell she's still stretching so hopefully some gentle LST will stretch her out some more to help develop those bud sites. My prediction is that she's going to finish in 10 weeks, we shall see. At 5-6 weeks of vegging she should be huge by now 😕.
She is quite the hungry girl. she's one of those girls that constantly eats, and never gets fat! Lol.
By the end of the week, she stretched some more... now to get those buds nice and fat&phat :)
She first smelled like dank weed, now she's smelling like fruity weed.
Week 8: I don't think she will finish in 10 weeks now. Well, I hope not anyway. Looks like she has a few more weeks to fatten up. Not sure what will happen though. She may stay small and thin, we'll see.......
Week 9: GSC Mini stretched a lot more than I thought she would. I think I will end up with nearly .5 ounce dried from her.
She's packing on the bud weight, and I can't touch her without my hands coming out sticking together. She is one frosty plant!
Hoping she goes to about 11-12 weeks and packs on a ton of weight! Hmm probably another 2 weeks is more likely.
It's unbelievable how much she grew and packed on the weight during the flower phase. I'm impressed!
I dread touching her with my bare hands because of the stickiness, lol. This girl is on FIRE! Cannot wait for the Chop and Cure.
Week 10: GSC-Mini is exceeding my expectations! I thought she was going to be quite puny because... I have a bad habit of stunting my plants in weeks 1-4. Imagine how big she would be if I could've vegged her correctly?! I know many growers have issues during flower but can veg their plants beautifully. Me, I'm special - I belong on the short bus during the Veg stages but during Flower I almost look like I know what I"m doing. No worries grower-friends, I shall persevere and eventually figure out what I'm doing wrong (I hope)!
She's so frosty and her colas have definitely fattened up in the last week. I think she has 1 maybe 2 weeks max until chop! She smells like a sweet mint mixed with diesel funk.
Day 69: She's about 90-95% cloudy and no amber. I think she has another full week and we'll see.
Week 11: The trichomes are looking quite cloudy with a few clear ones here and there and some amber here and there. She's getting the chop around day 78-80. She's frosty as heck. She has a funky sweet minty smell mixed with citrus and diesel. What an odd sounding smell combination. She's a stinky one for sure!
I think I see some purple pheno in her which is really interesting to see. I've personally never experienced a purple phenotype.
DAY 76-77: They are getting the chop tonight! I will report back with the results next week!
The harvest: I got 35 grams dried, and I'm really happy about that. It's over an ounce and for my second grow, I feel like it's a win. I dried her for 3-4 days and now she's in a jar to cure.
She was really easy to grow and it's really great seeing your grow week by week! The community here is encouraging!
