Week Zero
Germinated in water for around 24 hour, then directly in soil (leftovers, mostly discounter soil) in 0.5 l pots.
5 out of 7 seeds germinated successfully.
Week One
its my first Grow and I started with some random seed from different buds I smoked. high probability that there is a gelato or critical in there, but you can't be sure. Planted in a mix of discounter soil (leftovers) in 0.5 l pot for a short seedling stage. Seeds where germinated in 1 day in water, then directly in the soil. 5 of 7 seeds germinated, which was a surprise to me. Light were at 30% the first day, upped to 35%, then 40%, day by day, just to be sure it was not to intense. kept around 75cm distance to the light in the first week, only lowered once a bit to maybe 70cm.
because there is a high chance of male plants, I will pop 3 more seeds from fastbuds, when they arrive.
Week Two
we are in Week 2. all plants got transplanted into 11l / 3gal pots, which will be the last pot they are in (not planing to transplant once again, but im not sure).
The Plants all loved the transplant, got almost 0 stunned growth. there is no showing of sex yet. One Plant is a little behind in growth, but still looks alright.
I use biobizz allmix and the feeding will be done with biotabs alternative from bioplantenvoeding.nl. no feeding yet, because the all mix will give the feeding for around 3-4 weeks, so next week will be a good time to add the feeding, because of the slow release nutrients (building in the soil). Hope this will go well; if so, this will be a very easy and beginner friendly grow method.
i popped 3 more seeds from fastbuds a few days ago and they already in seedling stage. I have to reduce the plants to 6 flowering plants in the future to be legal (growing for my wife and myself). I calculate with some male plants from the random seeds I had.
my light is at 50% with 60cm distance. I will reduce the distance to around 45cm and up the power to around 60-75% in the next week, which will start tomorrow (10th of April).
i will update almost all weeks with videos, during the complete grow.
thanks for checking out my first grow!
Week Three
im happy with the random seed, I see not much of a difference yet, they all look indica or indica-dominant. one plant is most vigorous, all but one are all growing nice. I also popped one seed of fastbuds fast flowering seeds: gorilla cookies, orange sherbert and gg4 sherbert.
Everything going nice in week three, seedlings coming along. they will need transplanting soon, but I'm still hoping to see some sex before that, so I can sort out male plants. I am also not sure if the random seed are autos or photoperiod. I still decided that I will top all plants to give the seedling a little time to catch up some more.
this week was feeding time. I feed the plants with a biotabs alternative. im not 100% sure with this, but the biovin is used as the startrex, colonize as the bactrex and the bottled nutrients are the orgatrex. two tabs in 11l / 3 gal pots. these nutrients take some time to work. I use biobizz allmix and we transplanted around one week ago. maybe that's a little bit early, but I think it will be fine. in the End of Week 3 I can't see any burns. some nice fungus formed, so I think the nutrients doing its things.
i plan to level up my LST-Skills with the random seed plants and probably don't do a lot on the fastbuds plants to even out the difference in lifetime, so that will mean I maybe get less harvest from the fastbuds plants, but that fine for me. we will see how it turns out.
thx for checking out my grow, im a first time grower, but I feel like I have earned some knowledge In the last years by educating myself, so I hope the grow is interesting for all the nicely growers here. I don't aim to do everything perfectly, at least I don't monitor everything but I do my best to keep the plants happy and in a good place to grow and flower.
Week Four
We are in Week Four. Everything is fine, plants are happy. the Random Seed Girls are going off, each in their own way. The fastbuds Seedlings will hopefully catch up. I will try to keep the other ones low and will do only some scrogging with the fastbuds.
So in the mid of week 4, I removed two, imo the weakest of the five, bigger plants, to transplant the seedling into the 3 gal / 11l pots. this is the end formation for this grow. in a few weeks I plan to flip to flower as I aim for smaller/lower plants.
so this week I started to LST the bigger plants to keep them low. I wait with the middle one for a but, because she is so vigorous and bushy. I ask myself if it would be the best top the highest node one more to get a nice bush of kolas from the lower branches. I'll wait and see. the lady one the left show some purple stems and you can already smell a hint of fruitiness.
I noticed some burn tips, so no more feeding. Till flipping to flower I will only give tapwater and do some LST to the bigger plants.
One picture shows how they popped back up after LST. I will re-adjust the downbending through the rest of the week.
Week Five
we are in Week Five. I labeled the Plants from the random flowers I saved and popped, before any Seeds arrived.
We have RNG 1#, which is the only one with purple stems, I guess its the genetics. no sex yet. growing fast. did some LST to spread out the branches.
RNG 2# is the bushy one in the middle. no sex yet. I deleafed a bit and bent the main 2 stem from the top to the sides, so every sidebranch get light to grow up.
RNG 3# is the first to show sex. it a female, so im very happy. she is the slowest of the 3 RNG, but I wish all are slower like her. also to some LST to spread the branches.
The fastbuds try to catch up, but they are not there yet. I guess the push up till the end of this week. few cm to go. you can see some differences.
so all in all, I think everything is still fine, the RNG 2# has burned tips, I guess from bad watering and buildup. I tried to better my watering. leafs looking fine and the growth is still nice. LST is going fine to aside from one mishap with RNG 1#. when re-adjusting I broke the main stem =( no big deal for me, because we have to wait till the fastbuds catched up. they are in week 3 now and they will start to explode soon (I hope).
in this week I deleafed where the fan-leafs were blocking new growth and in the lower parts of the plants. its early for this, but I only have a small monkey fan and I want good air movement inside the plants.
i pulled the light up to 50cm distance and put it on 70%. I plan to reduce the light cycle to 16/8 and up to 75-80% power soon and flip to flower as soon as possible.
I did a light feeding with the 5:2:5 organic nutrients once, 1 liter divided to all plants, just to keep the soil alive. at the weekend I did a good watering and really take care the plants are watered right, did way too less watering in the beginning. then I corrected it by watering from below. after waiting 1 or 2 days, I did the right watering and now I wait till the soil dried up a bit. the uptake from the plants are very different, so it makes it hard for me to do it right as I am a beginner in growing. plan to get autopots in the future =)
thanks for reading till the end and checking out my grow.
Week Six (more like Week 4 or 5)
alright, a lot happened. first in rearranged the plants to get a nice even canopy to flip to flower. as planed, I changed the lights to 16/8 and upped the power to around 75% at 50cm to the canopy. every plant got a topdressing with Terra Preta, rockdust, biovin and seeweed (rooting powder) and fed the plants with colonize and organic feed 5-2-5 (see pics).
I got worried about the bagseed. on RNG 2# I see what's looks like male and female sex. on RNG 1# I think there a female sex signs, but I am not sure. only on RNG 3# I see more than one female sign on the nodes. I read you can have a high chance of hermies with bagseeds. on the other side, some strains came from bagseed. but I don't search for strains, so two new plants appeared suddenly. one gelato from zamnesia and one San Fernando Valley X The Purps from growers choice, both feminized and photoperiod.
I decided to keep the RNG 3# as she is the safest to grow out. she shows female sex clearly and is the smallest of the bagseeds. so the fits nice with the fastbuds and the two new plants. I can happy give the bagseeds to a new home, so maybe I still see some result from the RNG 1# and 2#.
I mixed some new soil with amendments and transplanted to 11l pot. they also got a good chunk of colonize and the normal dosage of feeding. I watered them in and the gelato popped back up, the SFV was a bit sad, some lower leafs hung down, but she like the transplant. both are in very good shape.
one day after the transplant I will do some deleafing and training. also I get the mars hydro clip fan to get some needed air-circulation in the tent. so in a week or so, I will flip to flower, this will be the last update in veg.
thanks for reading or checking out my grow. I took a lot more footage to do a seed to harvest video for yt.
Week Seven
Flipping to flower was a good idea because of the 6 plants in this little space.
They all got into stretch and I had to adjust the light a few times. The gorilla cookies (front right) is the smallest and slowest, the gg4 sherbet is also pretty small (back mid), the orange sherbet. (Frond mid) almost catched up to the other older plants. The sfv purps (front left) stretched a bit, some sidebranches shot up, which is very nice. The gelato (back left) stretched more than the sfv and shows nice flowers starting to grow. The bagseed (back right) shot up the most with 3 big colas.
All plants got a topdessing and mulch from hemp clippings. I water every to every other day with 0,5 to 1 liter.
The tent got filled up pretty fast and I’m fighting the urge to defoliate. Plan to wait till day 21 of flower.
Thanks for reading.
Week Eight
Impressed by the stretch (first time grower…) no problems but funghus nats. The older plants got into stretch faster, the fastbuds are still behind and take longer to transition, only the orange sherbet kept up.
They got a last feeding, so nothing much to do except watering and keeping the nats population down.
Still waiting for defoliation as it get very full
And I can’t keep the rh below 70%
Week Nine
Reaching the end of stretch, so I defoliated and cleaned up the lower 3rd of each plant. I still see no problems or signs, so still nothing much to do. Some plants started to put their energy into flower production.
I removed the mulch because I had the feeling it was perfekt breeding ground for the fungus nats. I waters with nematodes and used neemoil to get rid of the pest.
Other than that, no problems, nothing much to do. Happy grower.
Week Ten
Week Four of Flower. Sadly I had to remove the gorilla cookies because of hermies. In hindsight, I think I had a lightleak in the corner of the tent, but I’m still not sure. In the corner was also an intake pipe and the monkeyfan for undercanopy airflow.
The removal made some room for the other plants, so the tent is still filled.
The bagseed and the sfv are still the furthest and have nice bud development. Also both of them got sticky very fast.
Orange sherbet spreading out big, but buds take their time. Same with the gelato and the gg4sherbet.
Not much to do, which is good 😊
As always thanks for reading
Sadly I had to cut down the gorilla cookies because I found a few male parts. I don’t know the reason she hermed. May there is a light leak from the intake vents, so I covered the end of the vents.
She was pretty far behind, so maybe the defoliation was to mich stretch, also the little monkeyfan is directly infront of her, so the got some air an her stems. Maybe all that stressed her to much
I checked all plants and didn’t find any herms. Hopefully it stays that way
Week Eleven
Week Five of Flower and everything goes nicely, buds are getting bigger. Check the video to see all plants. Stretch is done.
fighting fungus nats. Watering with tapwater only with no ph testing. I did a sort of Recharche with the colonize and some liquid feeding 5-2-5 in low dosage.
I think we are close to the infamous answer „two weeks“ to the question „are they ready harvest?“
We will wait till they are ready.
Thx for checking my grow
Week Twelve
Flower Week 6 and so far so okay. I got worried about nanas on the sfv, but it turned out it was just new growth. The fungus gnats came back, stronger than before, so I covert the soil with sand to prevent them from laying more eggs.
Alle the plants looking fine, on some days I had to fight high humidity and temps. This will bite me a week later, check week 13 ;)
Week Thirteen
Flower Week 7 - so the high humidity bite me, found some budrot on 3 headbuds of the orange sherbet and the gelato. It was easy to remove and everything else looked fine. I got a second venti and pumped up the exhaust fan. This was the problem, I kept the exhaust to low.
Luckily after fixing the problem, the run ended without any more problem. At he time I planned the harvest date and decide to wait one more week to get full 8 weeks of flower. So one more week to report, after that the harvest results will be posted. I want to include some pics of the finished flowers, so this will take another week or so to post.
Greetings
Week Fourteen
The last week of flowering for the run. Still high humidity in Germany, but I manage to kept it under 65% in the night, in the day at 50-55% (lightcycle at daytime).
Harvest is planned on the 3rd of july, after that date we have around 10days with a nice humidity to dry, around 60% with the aim to dry for 10 to 14 days and curing in grove bags when dry.
The harvest result will include the finished flower, so it will days 1-2 week to post. As the time of writing, it’s already curing in the bags.
Sorry for the late update.
I harvested all plants together to dry in the tent for a slow dry. It took 8days till the stems broke/snap and everything felt dry by the touch.
I cured and stored in grovebags. After 10-14days of cure, the flower were ready to smoke.
Had to burp the bags, because the rh was a bit to high, but all in all unfelt very safe with the geovebags.
Very happy with the result. In the end I got 240g of flower from all plants with 200watt led, so a bit over a 1g/watt.
Goal for next run is to get 2g/watt.
The bagseed flowers give a nice and strong high, not the greatest taste, but smokable.
Biggest yielder with great taste and buzz, strong high. Very citric smell. This was the best strain to grow. Nice structure without any training and biggest yield, even when she was 2 weeks behind.
Great smoke and high, but not the greatest taste, some terps got lost when drying, she smell very fruity, but those smells and taste got lost, so it was more earthy and spicy taste with little to none fruit.
