Received Chem D (2000 original variegated) and GMO (Skunkmasterflex) clones on 3/5/24 from a friend. Watered one gallon pots containing Roots Organic Soilless coco mix with nutrient solution and then planted into one gallon pots.
Set Chem D up in the autopot and moved it to its own tent in the 4x4. I defoliated a lot of the plant. I am currently doing a grafting experiment where I graft a scion (branch) of the Chem D onto the GMO mom rootstock. Two branches were removed for grafting. I plan on vegging this for 2-3 more weeks before flipping to flower.
Have been defoliating to open up air flow at the bottom of the tent and allow light to reach lower bud sites. Will do another round of defoliation around day 21.
Keeping up on defoliation better early on will help on the next grow. I shocked the plant by accidentally putting 3EC into my reservoir instead of 2.5EC. I noticed within a few hours so it didn’t affect things to much.
Leaving the plants for a week. Filling up the autopot reservoir so they’re taken care of while I’m gone. Getting an acrid chemical smells with skunky notes. It’s quite smelly.
The tent got to around 84 while I was gone. It’s shocked the plant a little bit. I need to upgrade my inline fan from 4 to 6 inches but until then I’m making do. I turned down the light so the temp is back to around 80 with lights on. Very smelly chemical aroma with skunky notes. Starting to notice a slightly earthy smell. It smells wonderful!
Been a bit sick this past week but this plant reminded me I haven’t lost my sense of smell! It reeks of an earthy/soil chem smells. The buds are filling out nicely in their final month.
Cutting this plant down around day 67/68. Starting to let the plant dry back every other day. I’ve had to lower the light intensity the last few weeks of flower because of temperatures but it still looks pretty good!
Harvested at day 70. Wish I harvested a week sooner, it smelled a bit stronger then. It’s still some stinky flower! Gonna be growing - a “Mystery” OG (unknown lineage) in this tent next.
