Here we go :-) Day 0
I'm starting these beans off in in these jiffy blocks as for it is easier and less hassle than pre soaking rock wool and worrying and ph'ing the blocks :-)
These beans are courtsey of barneys. Thank you Mr M
Day 4 and I was getting worried but they are just about to break the surface :-)
Finally 5 days and we have action
Mixed up some nutrient of formulex and dipped the bottom half of the blocks (after pre soaking for 24hrs few days before) so the roots go looking for water
short video of how nft works. you have to use the white spreader matt, only one layer! it helps spread the water & nutrient out into a even film that runs off the end of the tray and recirculated.
Plants are doing well. I've sat them on a tray with some spreader Matt and have the water run past them for a few minutes every few days so not saturate the blocks and let those roots go searching for water.
When these are big enough I'll move them into flowering tent without damaging the roots!!
Looking well, the roots are well underway. Still only turning the pump on every few days to encourage the roots out and not to saturate the blocks. Will be moving from veg room to flower soonish.
Moved into flowering tent today. Still on veg feed til I see a flower. Happy days. May the flowering commence :-)
Chucked in fish tank heater to keep water around 20c as the tap water is coming out at 12c
These are growing well and looking like a lovely plant. I should see a flower soon . They're filling out the table enough now. The smallest one is trying to catch up...have HST all the though you wouldn't think it.
Water has been changed for fresh batch of feed
Into 3rd week of flowering and the flower is coming. The plants have doubled in size even the little one. Defoliated today after the pics though.
All looking super healthy and have good roots.
I have not changed the water this week. I've just been topped with half strength veg feed in the 50ltr tank...
Changed water half way through the week so I can put in flower feed as the flower is well coming on now
Flowering feed is only few days old as i changed half way through last week as the flower had come out. Should be good for another week...then a new fresh tank. Plants themselves are looking great and the flower looking good.
I didn't check how long these take to flower as the flower took awhile to come out so I'm thinking these are at least ten weekers
Start of the 5th week. Ive changed the 50ltr tank for fresh feed so time add the pk 13 14 aswell on 5th week.....they're all looking super healthy and very nice flowers forming....pulled off some shade leaf to get some light through the plants. Happy days :-)
Topped up tank few days ago with a little (30mlA & 30ml B)more nutrient because when u add water alone it gets diluted and it's the 5th into 6th week of flowering which the buds are starting to fill out.
Now its Monday when i would normally change the tank for fresh water and nutrient but this week I'm leaving the pk13 14 in for few days more. I'm not adding more as i would be over fertilizing with pk.
On checking the water level it needs another bucket(10ltrs) to fill tank to its full level then I'll ph it and leave for a few days s more, checking ph daily
This should get some tongues wagging.(Screw is only through one plant)..I see this screw through the the main stem idea on insta...I think RQSeeds posted it from someones diary and it's supposed to boost trichome production.
I laughed and thought what a load of bollocks...So now i thought it's the last ten days or so for this one shiskaberry so why not give it ago.
I don't know how i will be able to tell the difference as my plants are smothered in trichomes.
The first 6 pictures are of the plant I have drove the screw through and as you can see they are already coated in trichomes already.
Will I spot any difference? Who knows
Have been flushing now for 10 days . The colour has dropped out the leaves on the middle plant which is a good sign...Just given them a water change . They have had 50ltrs of clean water.
My tap water is so cold (7c) I fill up a clean plastic dustbin of water the day before so it will be room temp the next day as i dont want to shock my plants roots with stone cold water
this is a hard plant to defoliate as I am damaging bud as I try
Monday.....
This is the start of the third week flushing hence the colour...all 3 plants are at different stages.
I drove a screw through the stem of the plant that looks finished 4 or 5 days ago now.
I see this on insta i think RQseeds posted it from a diary and it supposed to increase the trichome production by stressing the plant but my plants are already coated in frost so god knows how you would tell the difference.
🤷♂️
The middle plant with the fat top cola seems to want to take forever to mature up and the other plant on the end that is still green 🤦♂️could do with another couple weeks. I don't know how it's still green after 3 weeks of no food...should be a clean smoke lol....
Had to throw in a dehumidifier as humidity was getting high, into the mid 60s I now got I'd down to 51%
Thursday.....
I've chopped down the plant with the screw in the stem. It's finished before the other 2 plants...it absoultely stinks of hash today. The other day I had grapefruit smell....I can't tell any difference in trichome production with that screw in the stem as they were covered in it anyway......I won't bother trying that again
These all ended up perfect I can highly recommend it to grow.
S
I've chopped 2 out of 3 down so will be adding more info and pictures over coming days...I've had the smell of sweet grapefruit on the biggest plant and on the first plant a really strong hash smell ...they're going to hang for at least ten days to dry with most of its leaf on and shade leaves removed.
This would've been impossible to weigh wet but now im thinking about it I could of used suitcase scales....
I've hung the plants separately so I'll get an individual weight of each one when dry.
1st plant weighed 110g dry
2nd weighed..........220g dry
3rd plant weighed a poor 75g
They've took two weeks to dry
Can't wait to smoke these....the yeild looks awesome off this biggest plant.
Nice looking plants but trimming the god damn things took fucking hours......bloody hell I've never trimmed something so leafy...yes I spat my dummy out😂🤣🤣
This has taken two weeks to dry with all its leaf on...the 1st plant tastes like hash and smells so strong of hash, 2nd plant is on the fruity side of things and I'm yet to try the 3rd
I have had the biggest plant tested and the results were outstanding @27% thc
The plant with the screw in stem tested @17% but apparently 1 week wasn't long enough
The 3rd plant tested at 22.4% 0
That run is really cool ! I like how your roots looks likes a carpet week 11 and also the screw in trunk thing , I gave it a try long time ago. And if you are on Insta then take a look at @savagedwc : hr is the king in putting things between his stems or in is trunk ✌️🏼😊
@OutForReal, thanks🙏
....the roots are crazy at the end...I'll take look......I don't think the screw done anything...not in 7 days but my trichome production is crazy before doing it
@Riles, it's all in the early stages of rooting...you have to air trim the roots and don't saturate the blocks...you need a good strong root mass to start with
@Reaper, 😂 we need more tent if we want to produce enough xD
but ... i'll use everything to make cookies, brownies, aromated rum, use rosin press and vape.....
@EhlersChick, I see this on Instagram by RQS sharing a picture and it's supposed to boost trichome production...my plants are covered as it is...I do the hst early on in flowering as the buds are not heavy...
I cant see it doing much but i thought I would try it 😳
@@hydrohippy, the moment I saw the screw I thought, "Well that's a HST technique I haven't seen before". My version involves slightly squishing the branches with pliers, not so they are so soft they're floppy, just enough so that they're, well, stressed 😃 Looking forward to this harvest!
@Wachsemilian, cheers I'm trying to get out in one piece🙏to get some cool photos 😎
I know them buds are to heavy for the branches tho...soon as they're out the net I'm fucked lol
👍👌 WoW good job! the big one looks so dense 😋
do you have a prediction about yeld? 😜
PS: where is the picture of root carpet? Bulbi need some pictures before sleep ^^
@Dedon, thanks they are all so dense...it was impossible to photo with all buds standing up as they were so heavy.
I had to cut it up and lay it out on the floor .I think about 6 or 7 ounces on the biggest plant.
The third plant is still on the table attached to the roots😂 til I chop it down...it isn't as impressive as the first two....it is a bit smaller but still nice
@Excalibur, thanks they do look good...yes I have a small loop microscope x60 nice and powerful..it's hard to get myself close as i got to much in the way ...it's an easy one to grow :-)
