@iLoveGoodWeed, Not get me wrong. But read a actual research done on flushing. All of info in your comment is basically bro science. Unfortunately.
Only true in is if you have excess Nitrogen in your soil It going to create a issue with too much chlorophyll in leafs. Thats why balanced feed is important. Chlorophyll is your enemy if you wanna good tasting bud.
Also if you have buffered soil its more likely you going to kill that plant before you will hit EC 0.6 or below from return water.
@Atalant, When flushing before harvest, the runoff should have an EC of 0.6 or below. This low EC indicates that most of the built-up salts and nutrients have been removed from the growing medium. Here’s why this is important based on my experiance and what I read.
Improved Flavor: Flushing helps eliminate excess nutrients and salts, which can lead to a smoother, more pleasant taste in the final product. Unflushed plants may retain a harsh or chemical taste.
Better Burning:. Weed that has been properly flushed will burn more evenly. Excess nutrients can cause the buds to burn improperly, leading to a black ash instead of a clean white ash.
Enhanced Aroma. Removing excess nutrients can enhance the natural aroma of the cannabis, allowing the plant’s terpenes to shine through.
Cleaner Product. Flushing ensures a cleaner final product by reducing the amount of residual nutrients and chemicals, which is particularly important for those using cannabis for medicinal purposes.
