Start of week 4. Plant took the next two cuts really well. Leaves are a little bit dark, thought I gave grow fertilizer but saw in my diary that that is not the case. Looks like N tox but I don't know what could have caused that. By going light on the nutes it should be solved.
Will have to wait for the next 4 cuts but it will probably happen this week.
Day 22: No water, no feeding.
Day 23: Soil is still moist.
Side branches almost ready for LST.
Day 24: No water, no feeding.
Side branches got LST'd. Removed both first true leaves since they got mostly shaded. βοΈ
Day 25: Soil is still moist.
Not much to do with her yet ...
Day 26: Gave 1l of tap [email protected] with
- 1ml Calm agent
- 4ml Root Juice
Main branches almost ready to be topped.
Day 27: Soil is still moist.
Topped all the 4 branches again for a total of 8 colas.
New growth is slightly twisted. I think I damaged it during LST. Won't be too much of a problem I guess.
Day 28: Soil is still moist.
Plant took the topping very well again. New branches are slowly forming.
Removed the 4 main fan leaves since they were partially shaded and not doing too much for the plant.
Stay tuned for next week and happy growing everybody! β€οΈ
@Sonic27, Adding some more things that are important in my opinion:
- first plan your layout, then start training
- don't top too early: side branches need some substantial growth and the main stem needs to be thick enough
- same applies for side branches (in this diary I was too early for example)
- be gentle when applying LST
- don't use thin wire for LST, it can cut into stems that break when they grow further
- when stems don't properly bend, give them a slight pinch, that way they get softer
- don't cut off too much plant material (as stated earlier)
Hope this helps. β€οΈ
@Sonic27, Thank you!
I am a noob myself π. People have different preferences when it comes to mainlining. As you can see in the pictures I kept most of the fan leaves, at least for a short time period after doing a cut. Imo that is important so the plant can do photosynthesis. Other people sometimes cut them off which looks kind of cool and clean but could stunt the plant more.
Best way to learn is to try it yourself. Then you will see what works best for you. Best of luck mate! π
