Germination
I started all three girls on the 6th of May 2024. Slushy fist immediately germinated and went a bit leggy. Fat Banana and Purple Punch both took a bit longer to pop above the ground, but they both stayed more compact. A bit of leg is never an issue though! Planted Slushy Fist a bit deeper to allow more stability. Under the large grow lights she seems to be much happier. The other two are doing alright, but Purple Punch has a bit of yellow discoloration on her true leaves which worries me. We will have to see how it rides, but if it looks rough I will have to pull it. I did a Happy Frog X Ocean Forest combo this time. I filled all three pots with about 3 gallons of Ocean forest/perlite and then topped the last two gallons of each with Happy Frog. I am hoping the first week or two in the Happy Frog will help avoid the heavier nutes in OF until the plants are ready. Very excited to see how Slushy Fist does! I managed to win 5 seeds during a 4/20 giveaway and I can't wait to watch her grow! I had never heard of DreamBeans before and even this site hasn't, so this might be something special! I am excited to try Fat Banana and Purple Punch (Hopefully!) my last few RQS runs have been very successful.

The girls are actually 14 days old today! So the first week of veg is all wrapped up. They have all been doing well! (Especially fat banana... Her growth was astonishing.) I am happy that Purple Punch seems to have bounced back in a good way! Her first true leaves will always show the damage, but it didn't take her down! (Still not sure specifically what caused this to occur.) I gave the girls 16 ounces of water a few days after transplant. Once again using the ring method. (2-inch ring of water around the outermost leaves) And repeated the process a few days later with 32 ounces. I had to feed Banana and Punch again just yesterday because they were thirsty! I think the bigger tent just has more airflow so the large containers dry out faster when they aren't being fully saturated. I will probably be feeding Slushy Fist today when lights come on in the later afternoon. I gave Banana and Punch just a taste of Grow Big and Kangaroots to see how they respond. Along with a dose of Cal-Mag to get things where I want them. I intend to spray all three with Flowers Kiss here in under an hour when the lights go off. I am going to start introducing some nutes to Slushy Fist as well, and we will start adjusting from there! Everyone seems to be happy and healthy so far.

This is actually week three-four. We had a busy last two weeks so I wasn't able to keep up with the dairy. They have absolutely exploded in growth and I am extremely pleased with the 2/5ths happy frog and 3/5ths Ocean forest container. (Happy frog on top and Ocean forest on the bottom) I haven't had to feed these girls once yet (Outside of 6.5 PH water), but now that they are entering flower its about time to introduce some of the good stuff. Slushy fist looks amazing, and the RQS girls are chugging along as expected. I wanted to LST this time around but because of the unforeseen circumstances I missed my window and I am going to simply do what I did last time and spread them out as much as I can and let them do their thing. The yield last time was fine, so I won't complain if I get that again.

Here we are, 33 days from sprout and everyone is flowering! Slushy Fist just hit the 3 foot mark, and is bulking up hard already. (Her main stem and branches are all solid and thick even though she looked a bit spindly at first.) Purple punch is battling some Cal/Mag issues and I have been giving her some epsom salts and a heavier hand of Cal/Mag to try and help, waiting for the new growth the let me know. Banana is doing well, just chugging along and getting very dense. I will need to give her a haircut soon, but I wanted to let her get well into flower before any stress. That has been my method this run. No stress and the best damn stable environment I could provide. So far it has worked well! (Outside of Purple Punch needing a boost, but some auto's seem to want more CalMag than others. I am going to lollypop Slushyfist soon and work on the other two after. They are extremely thirsty! Going through a half gallon a day each. (Water by the gallon every two days.) I am giving them a healthy dose of Beastie Bloomz, Tiger Bloom, calmag, and a few assorted extra's from the Fox Farm line to help balance things up.

Another week! Flowering has been going strong now for a bit. The girls are starting to get a hefty dose of Tiger Bloom, Beastie Bloomz, and an assortment of boosters. (Purple punch is on a special regiment of 7+ Ph water with Epsom salt and a bit extra cal mag to try and balance her. Her soil PH dropped too low so she had a bit of lockout. Slushyfist is starting to point straight up, so I know she is getting more light than she wants. I am dropping the intensity a bit and bringing her down to 18/6 (Started at 20/4) I have also moved a fan to the top of the canopy to try and keep the upper leaves a bit cooler. Hopefully, she will settle a bit, but I may end up super cropping her since she broke the 36" mark. This week will be more nutes and some defoliation and a touch of training. (I need to get the banana spread out a bit because god damn she thicc.) I am guessing we have about 5-6 weeks of flower before harvest, so hopefully everything goes smoothly as we hit the peak heat/humidity outdoors here in Minnesota. The dehumidifier is already moving about 30 pints a day.

I finally stopped being lazy and got around to some trimming and training. (Very minor training) Everyone had plenty of leaves that needed trimming and I had to spread Banana out because holy hell she is thick. I trimmed a bunch off of her and took a lot of lower bud sites that were never going to produce. Slushy fist had a few leaves removed, but overall she is so well spread out on her own that she doesn't need much help. Purple Punch is similar, but I am going to keep an eye on her. She might need some LST as well if she fattens up in the middle. I went a bit autopilot the last few weeks because of work, and home stuff. The plants certainly suffered a bit from that. I think I overcorrected on Purple Punch, and I probably dosed Slushyfist and Banana a bit too much. I am going to dial back the nutes a bit and reduce the amount of water I am giving at each feed. (Dropping to 3000ml from 4000.) Still, I think all of them should make it to the finish line and I am excited for the finished products! Both Slushy Fist and Purple Punch are expressing their terpenes now. Slushyfist has a bit of a citrus background with a cheese/skunky forefront. Should be an interesting smoke! Purple Punch honestly has a peppery fruit punch smell to it that is tantalizing. I think Fat Banana is starting a bit as well, but she can't compete with the other two at the moment. (She is taking longer than the other two though because she is a much larger/denser plant) I am shocked to see how far along SlushyFist and Purple Punch are. We are at day 47. I expect both might land right around their suggested times which is always nice. I expect Banana to run a few weeks longer given her progression compared to the other two.

Dialed back hard on the nutes this week, and gave them a few pure water feeds. All the girls are chugging along and stacking away, but each has their issues. I am not too worried about any of it. It really is just battle damage from growing so large and fast. They are mainly eating the lower fan leaves away, and I had some light burn on the upper canopy because they have all gotten a bit too large for their enclosure. I dialed back the light intensity and switched to an 18/6 light schedule to try and mitigate the damage a bit. (The bigger issue is with the summertime temps I can't get a nice cool period for the girls. During the fall/winter/spring I can easily get the room down to 62-64 and have the daytime ride around 72 during flower, but this time I am stuck around 70-71 at night with 76-78 daytime temps (Fahrenheit of course.) They are actually on day 51 from sprout as of now. So we are technically in week 8. I figure Purple Punch and Slushyfist should end right around their 10-week estimate, and then I can let Banana ride until she is ready. (I would guess she has closer to a month, but we will see!)

Can't fill out the conditions for some reason, but no big changes there. Finally getting the temps down to around 72 during the day and 69 at night, so at least that has helped. I harvested SlushyFist and she is currently drying. (Higher temps than I like, but it is what it is.) She never had many fan leaves and stretched because she was in the small tent with the weaker light. Next run I am giving a slot in the bigger tent to see what happens in there.) She certainly didn't reach her maximum maturity, but for around 60 days she will give a decent harvest. It should at least hold me over as I wait for Banana and Punch to come to their conclusions. Punch looks like she will be ending in a week or less, and Banana is rounding that final two week corner if I had to guess, but she might drag a bit. Her colas are all getting nice and uniform all the way down the branches, and I expect her to swell nicely.

Another week down. SlushyFist is still drying away. (Day 7 today) while Purple Punch is fading away and finishing up nicely. I think we are within a week of chop, but we shall see (Seeing a bit of amber, but I would like a bit more!) Banana is really stacking up now. Her pistils are starting to change en mass, and her buds are swelling nicely. She probably has a few more weeks to fully ripen though. Its been pretty much cruise control mode for the last few weeks. I tend to the girls every few days to relieve them of their depleted leaves. They are getting about 3000ml of water every 3 or 4 days at this point. Punch has slowed down so I know her end is coming. Looking forward to the final results and to see what kind of haul I get this time around! Banana will definitely be my record setter, but its going to be interesting to see by just how much!

SlushyFist has been dried and is in week two of cure. 63 grams of dry buds all trimmed and ready to go. She has a fantastic citrus/dank taste and the high hits hard for a plant that only lived for 58 days! I will correct my mistakes from this run and really see what she can do next run. Purple Punch is currently on her third day of drying. (I chopped her about 49 hours ago) She ended up perfect, and I can't wait to try her! The terps are out of this world, and the nugs look excellent. Aiming for a 12-day dry and then I will trim her up and see just how much she produces. Fat Banana is coming in for her landing. And boy does she need to. She can't hold her side branches up anymore by herself. I have had to add a lot of support to keep her upright. Her nugs are abundant, fat, and getting even fatter. The last of the white pistils are changing over, and the trichomes are cloudy, but only the very tracest amount of amber is starting to show, so I am trying to get her to the 20th or so and then I will consider chopping. (She is eating her leaves extremely quickly now, so the end is near.) I will have more Fat Banana pictures next update since it will be her time to shine. This was definitely a Purple Punch week.

Punch is down and so is Banana! (Update to come) Everthing looks excellent and the drying has been smooth so far. Punch smells amazing, and the banana actually gets some smell to her after the chop. For the whole grow she smelled like a very muted slice of banana bread, but now that is coming out stronger. So excited to see how she ends up after the cure.

This will count as my final update for this dairy. Fat Banana has been trimmed up and she gave me 137 grams of smokeable nugs and about 162 grams total weight. She is an absolute beast and my current record holder. Sitting on about 9 Ounces of weed after this run, so I will take that as a major success! Banana's nugs were dense and sticky as hell, so I am sure she will be a fantastic smoke. Not the strongest terps, but when you get a nose full it reminds me of coffee and banana bread.

Banana Banana Banana! She is down and drying. Some of her colas were effing heavy! Can't wait to dry, cure, and enjoy this harvest! *She is trimmed and curing now. The final weigh-in was 137 grams of nugs for smoking with an additional 25 grams for edibles.
