I germinated the seed on May 14. On the 15th I planted the seed in a rapid rooter plug, and put it under a 35W CFL bulb. It sprouted on the 17th. On the 18th it was showing roots through the plug, so I transplanted to a solo cup.
I began placing the seedling outside, mostly out of direct sunlight. By the middle of the week, I gave it direct sunlight by midweek. At night I place it back under the CFL. I will transplant to a 5 gallon smart pot on the 29th, with Promix HP soil.
I fed her a 1/3 dose of Fox Farms Big Bloom on the 8th. She is starting to grow faster, and appears to be the taller, lankier pheno. We shall see! (Oh, and all of the pellets are slug bait. Found an empty shell in the pot this week. Take that, you little jerk!) Overall it was a less than productive week. It rained and the night time temps were very low for June. Hopefully things will pick up, once the temperatures rise some.
I'm relieved. The night temperatures have increased, and the rain has let up. She's growing again. It'll probably hurt my final yield, but I'm hoping it'll just take longer than projected to finish. I killed a single spider mite last night, so I'll be snagging some spinosad at Bimart on my weekend. If you zoom in, you can see some bites on the leaves.
I left for a week, with instructions for my stepdaughter to give her some water a couple times. So the bottom leaves are a little lighter colored. I'll be giving nutrients in a day or two.
We're in week 8. Just maintaining water and nutrients, waiting on little miss shrimpy to give me a few grams. 😂 I've noticed a jumping spider is sometimes in the leaves. I encourage his occupancy and have named him Jiminy.
I'll attempt to capture a picture.
She's bulking into what would normally be one single secondary cola on a better grown plant. These must be great for guerilla grows, because I have to put my face right in the buds to smell them. What there is smells wonderful, however. I'll be switching back to photoperiod Northern Lights, but, when I decide to use the rest of the auto seeds, I've learned some tricks for next time.
Maintaining. She's fattening up. Maintaining nutrients. Today's temperature is supposed to be around 109. So I made sure to give her a good drink this morning.
Overall, I'm very happy with this plant. It was stunted by very cold weather and rain. But for a 12 inch pant, it gave me almost half an ounce. And what there is is very nice. It tastes just like the photoperiod stuff I've gotten in the shops. It's very smooth, and super relaxing. It melts away stress. I had some before bed the other night, after drying for 4 days and curing for a week and a half, and I was mellow and relaxed all the next day. I might try this strain indoors later, but I'm going to stick to photoperiod NL for a while.
@Korfer, 😂 No joke! It was an exceptionally hot summer, with some really late cold spring nights earlier. Made for an interesting season. Stunting early and foxtails late. Amid rookie mistakes.
@Stinkfox,yeah but i believe automatica autoflowering are more durable in bad conditions. Its what I read on several places..
It's fucked up when you cant control the nature and the weather, especially in these modern days of CHEMTRAILS :D, that's why I will always rather stick to the indoors, altough I planted 2 unknown plants on the sun, and they're developing pretty fast and nice considering the amount of light they receive per day. Go check them out :D
@WhiteWidow, Spring fooled me. We were having 90 degree days for a couple weeks. Then we got near freezing after I planted outside. If I grow outside again, it'll probably be a photoperiod strain. Something more forgiving.
@CANNASIM, I just harvested my photo northern lights. Quick dried a few lower buds. And now I'm dead relaxed. This is definitely my all time favorite strain. Good luck! I'm sure you'll enjoy it! 😀
@Stinkfox, Same reasons we whant to try this strain for night time. The WW is very good but is kind of a bomb some times and gets us spacey, or eletric in the beginning, lol, the auto should have some more cbd because of lowrider mix, i think. Cheers! 👍🏻
@iMeus, Bwahahahahahaha! That thing was awful. My first autoflower, and only my second grow. The smoke was great, however! Almost had a bubblegum smell. 😋
@Korfer, Thank you! It wasn't on purpose. And she's an auto, so I'm unlikely to get much from it, at this point. But in Oregon we can have 4, and my tent only has room for 3. So I figure I'm not out anything by experimenting outside.
I'll get a taller, wider tent soon. 😄
