This will be my second growdiary on this site and this time I chose a strain
that was on my list for a long time. Pineapple Chunk from Barney's Farm.
It took 3 days to germinate 5 out of 5 seeds at temperatures between 23.1 – 26.6 °C (73.5 – 79.8 °F)
and humidity levels between 69 – 96 %.
Like always I put the seeds directly into the soil that was pre-watered with Rhizotonic & CannaStart
and ph-adjusted to 6.0 Temperature of the water was 24.5°C (76.1°F)
As soon as I saw movement above the soil, the cobs growlight was turned on.
I started with 60 watt at 46cm (18 inches) but that was not enough DLI (13)
and the seedlings started stretching a bit too much.
So I turned up the power to 64 watt and lowered the cobs to 42cm (16.5 inches)
which gave me a DLI of 15.2 Just see if that's enough, but I think it will do for now.

The first week went smooth for the 5 Pineapple Chunks.
They stretched just a litlle bit the first 3 days. But I will solve that when they go in the airpots.
I haven't turned on the Airfan yet.
There's enough fresh air in the tent for the seedlings and it's not getting to hot.
The cobs are dimmed to 60 watt at 49 cm (19.3 inches) from the seedlings giving me a DLI of 16.1
The heatmat is set at 23°C (73.4°F)
and there's a small fan blowing a gentle breeze along the seedlings.
This will give them a stronger stem.
Once this week I gave them ph adjusted tapwater with a small amount of nutrients.
I added 0,80 ml Rhizotonic + 0,80 ml Cannastart to 500 ml (0.13 gal) tapwater (ec 0,77 – ph 6,0)
and gave each seedling 75 ml of this solution.
Temperatures stayed between 22 – 25 °C (71.6 – 77 °F) and humidity between 48 – 87 %

This week went without any problems. They're on scedule and next week I'll repot them.
I'm gonna keep 4 out of 5 because I have only room for 4 plants in 15 liter airpots.
On day 12 I removed the seedling that was making the least progress.
It gave me the opportunity to check the roots and they looked fine. I'll guess it will be the same with the other seedlings.
I've already filled the airpots and placed them in the tent so they can heat up a bit.
There's a large heating mat (RootIt 40 x 120 cm/ 15.7 x 47.2 inch) underneath the pots
to keep the substrate at 21 – 22 °C (69.8 – 71.6 °F)
I've given them 70 ml ph-adjusted tapwater + Plagron nutrients( amounts see above) each once this week.
Once a day I spray them with a solution of CannaCure and tapwater (15ml + 150ml tapwater, ph level = 6.1)
The cobs are at 68 watt with a distance of 49cm (19.2 inches) from the Pineapple Chunks giving a DLI of 19.
Temperatures fluctuated between 21.7 – 24.2 °C (71 – 75.5 °F) and humidity between 51 – 94 %
I've turned on the Airfan and the fan-controller is set at 30-35%.

The third week started with repotting.
I'm using the 14 liter (3.7 gallons) Airmaxx airpots again.
The second coblamp was turned on and both lights were dimmed to a total of 132 watt at 48 cm(18.9 inches)
from the plants on the first day of the week, giving a DLI of 23.
4 days later the power was raised to 140 watt and the distance was lowered to 45 cm(17.7 inches),
giving a DLI of 26.5 and it stayed that way for the rest of the week.
The lowest 1 finger leaves and the lowest shoots were removed on day 20.
Next week I'm going to top them.
Day 15, day of repotting, I gave them 200 ml of ph adjusted tapwater with Plagron Power Roots (ec 0.5 – ph 6.1) each.
The next 2 days were dry.
Day 18 I gave them 300 ml of ph adjusted tapwater with Plagron nutrients (amounts see above) each.
The next 2 days were dry again.
On the last day of the week I gave them 400 ml of the same solution they received on day 18.
Twice this week I gave them a shower with CannaCure.
I added 40 ml to 200 ml tapwater (ph 6) to make the spray solution.
Temperatures fluctuated between 21.5 – 26.3 °C (70.7 – 79.3 °F) and humidity between 41 – 84 %

The Pineapple Chunks are growing really good. I'm very impressed.
I guess maximum another week of 18/6 and then it will be time to switch.
I've topped them between the 5th and 6th node, giving me 8 shoots/plant to scrog.
Next week the scrog screen will be installed.
The cobs were lowered to 43 cm (16.9 inch) with 148 watt on day 23. DLI was 30.4 (469 PPFD)
On day 27 the power was raised to 168 watt at a distance of 47 cm (18.5 inch) from the plants.
DLI was 34.4 (531 PPFD) This height & wattage gives a larger coverage.
The thermostat of the heating mat is set at 20°C (68 °F)
I gave them ph adjusted tapwater with Plagron nutrients once this week.
Rest of the week was ph adjusted tapwater (ec 0.45 – ph 6) every other day.
Twice a week I spray them with a CannaCure solution (60 ml CannaCure + 450 ml tapwater ph 6.1)
Temperatures stayed between 22.4 – 26.2 °C (72.3 – 79.1 °F) and humidity levels between 46 – 79 %

This was the last week of the 18/6 cycle.
The Pineapples have reached the scrog screen which I installed at the beginning of the week.
4 Pineapple Chunks growing 35 days(+ 4 days to germinate) seemed to be enough for this space.
They've grown into beautifull indica's with large fanleaves and sturdy branches yet easy to scrog.
Once this week I gave them tapwater with Plagron nutrients (ec 1.58 – ph 6.1).
The rest of the week was ph adjusted tapwater (ec 0.45 – ph 6.1) when they needed it.
I sprayed them once with a CannaCure solution (15 ml CannaCure + 100 ml tapwater, ph 6)
The week started with the cobs at the same wattage and height as last week (168 watt and 47 cm – 18.5 inch) DLI 34.4 – PPFD 531
On day 32 it got a bit brighter with 188 watt and a distance of 43 cm (17 inch) from the plants. DLI 40 – PPFD 617
and stayed like this for the rest of the week.
The heating mat is turned of because temperatures are high enough.
The humidifier has also left the room because humidity levels must be lowered in the flowering cycle.
But that will be more important within a few weeks.

The first week of the 12/12 cycle went without any problems.
The scrog is going fine and I've done some pruning & defoliation
underneath the screen making it easier to water them.
On day 40 (5th day of this week) I spotted the first pre-flowers.
I gave them tapwater with Plagron nutrients once this week.
The rest of the week I gave them ph adjusted tapwater every other day (Ec 0.46 - ph 6.1 - 1 liter each/48h)
The cobs stayed at the same height and power as last week (43 cm/17 inch and 188 watt – DLI 28 – PPFD 648)
On the last day it got a bit brighter again with the cobs at 40 cm/15.75 inch and 208 watt. (DLI 30.2 – PPFD 699)
I sprayed them once with a CannaCure solution (50 ml CannaCure + 200 ml tapwater, ph 6.1)
Temperatures stayed between 20 – 25 °C (68 – 77 °F) and humidity levels between 49 – 66 %

In the second week of the 12/12 cycle i've encountered no issues.
I've did some more pruning and underneath the screen I've removed pretty much every leaf.
I gave them tapwater with Plagron nutrients once this week.
Rest of the week they received 1000 ml ph adjusted tapwater (ec 0.48 – ph 6.1) each every other day.
The cobs stayed at the same height(40 cm/15.7 inch) and power (208 watt) as last week ended (DLI 30.2 – PPFD 699)
On day 48 (6th day of this week) I raised the power to 240 watt at a distance of 46 cm/18.1 inch, giving a DLI of 32.4 – PPFD 750
I've sprayed them for one last time with a CannaCure solution (30 ml CannaCure + 150 ml tapwater – ph 6)
Temperatures stayed between 20.4 – 25.7 °C (68.7 – 78.2 °F) and humidity levels between 47 – 65 %

The 3th week into the 12/12 cycle went smooth. I've got the impression that the Pineapples aren't stretching much.
The pre-flowering stage has changed into the actual flowering stage.
I think it will take about 10 weeks of 12/12 to get these Pineapples ready.
I've done some final pruning and removed some leaves above the screen that were blocking light for lower shoots.
Smell is coming in so this week I've placed the carbon filter in the tent.
It's still the Can – Lite 600pl filter that did a great job in my previous run.
This was the feeding shedule of this week.
Day 1 → Each 1100 ml (0.29 gallon) tapwater with Plagron nutrients (see above for which and how much)
Day 2 → Dry

That was 240 watt and 46 cm/18.1 inch → (PPFD 750/DLI 32.4)
On day 54 the power was raised to 252 watt at 45 cm → (PPFD 789/DLI 34.1)

This week I've had some problems. Early this week some leaves turned yellow with brown spots.
These are signs of a potassium deficiency. I think too much calcium and magnesium is the cause.
So CalMag is removed from the menu and Green Sensation was put on.
It could also be that the ph levels were a bit too low so I raised them from 6.1 to 6.3
This was the feeding shedule of this week.

The fifth week of the 12/12 cycle and the Pineapples aren't going great.
The plant on the right side is barely showing signs of deficiency, the one next to it the most signs.
The other 2 have also signs of deficiency, but less.
I think the ph levels of 6.1 were a bit too low so I'm going to keep those between 6.3 – 6.5 in further grows.
But there's gonna be weed because the buds are taking form and smell is kicking in good.

Not so much to say about this week. The condition of the plants stayed the same.
Buds are starting to fatten up and smell is very noticable.

This week the buds have fatten up some more and the production of thc was clearly visible in the trichomes.
On the last day of this week I did a check and I saw a lot of them where turning cloudy, half cloudy with a few amber ones.
I guess another 2 weeks at max and I'll be harvesting.
The fungus gnats where a real pest during this run.
So I've placed a drosera capensis(carnivorious plant) in the growroom
and she hasn't eaten this much since I got here a year ago.
Should have done this weeks ago...

Day 7 → Each 1250 ml (0.33 gallon) ph adjusted tapwater (ec 0.46– ph 6.5)
The cobs are now at 45 cm (17.7 inch) with 320 watt → DLI 43/PPFD 995
This will be the maximum power for this run.

The buds got a little bigger and more pistels are getting orange.
The plants are also taking up less water. A lot of trichomes are turning milky
or are already milky and a few are amber. They're about to reach harvest within a week or so.
First I would like to see more amber trichomes.
I've also dicovered a swollen calyx with a seed so there must be a hermaphrodite in the room.
That's the disadvantage of a scrog setup. You can't check everything 100%
So some buds will have seeds, I just hope not too much. 🤞

This was the last time they've got nutrients.

From now on they'll only get ph adjusted tapwater mixed with deminiralized water
to get an EC value of 0.3 and I'm going to add CannaFlush to one batch next week.
Cobs stayed with the same power and height as last week
and that was 320 watt at 45 cm (17.7 inch) → DLI 43/PPFD 995
Next week DLI/PPFD will get lowered to 38/880 for 4 days
and then lowered again to 35/810 till the end of the run.
Temperatures fluctuated between 19.2 – 28.7 °C (66.5 – 83.6°F) and humidity levels between 42 – 70%

The Pineapple Cunks were harvested after 61 days of 12/12 lightshedule.
That was the day that I discovered budrot in one plant.
I'm almost certain it's the same who got hermie. So I lost a few grams there.
The last weeks it got a bit too hot & wet in the growroom, so conditions for mold were optimal.
But the other plants and the rest of the hermy one were ok.
The buds dried for a week and then I put them on the scale.
The outcome was 150 gram of bigger buds and 115 gram of smaller buds, so a total of 265 grams.
The average power used during flowering was 262 watt, so approx 1gr/watt.
The smell in the pots is skunky and fruity. The effect is more stoned and relaxed.
I can feel it real good in the head, less in body.
I would say it's a bit over the avarage in quality...but not a real topper.
Taste will still approve though while curing.
