04/19/2024 : got hand on a few automatic seeds from High Speed Buds breeder (didn't know them until today), so let's try 3 american strains.
I got Gorilla Cookies, Chocolope & Strawberry Banana : I just have 1 spare GC... I can't fail the start!
A little scratch, then 1h in Xseed from B.A.C. : I have some SeedPlugs from Biotabs that I watered with a pinch of what is needed for life from the start, no pellet this time.
04/23/2024 : 1 OK, 2 still need more time.
04/25/2024 : Chocolope looks dead. Gorilla Cookies & Strawberry Banana are still in the game and transplanted in 8 L cubic smartpot (20x20x20cm), I chose Plagron for lightmix and hydroton and added Canna Coco Pro+ to reach 20% coco in the mix. Another pinch of Mycorhizes - Monster X from Platinium Nutrients and a handful of worm humus in soil and 1.0 g of Micromix Soil from Aptus in the plantation hole.
05/20/2024 : almost 4 weeks since transplantation and both plants are still with us, watered once a week with 2.5 L rain water (with Calmag from Biobizz and Trace mix from Canna).
As Gorilla Cookies was a bit down, I decided to help it with Medussa-Protect tutor and manage to uproot it during week 2 : it's alive now but not as big as it should be, my bad. I just removed fan leaves from nodes 4 and 5 and didn't do LST.
Strawberry Banana is perfect. I just did light LST with my "J"s made with electrical wires to space branches and removed fan leaves from nodes 4,5 and 6.
Heights : GC = 20.0 cm / SB = 25.0 cm
05/21/2024 : Reset Js for Strawberry Banana.
05/28/2024 : it seems both are preflowering since a few days so I must start feeding seriously. I'll follow B.A.C. organic fast food organic program and begin this week with last vegetation week of the schedule.
I tried to give them about 8 hours sunlight a day, but it's rainy at the moment. I'm too lazy to set a bigger grow room indoor...😔
My Blueberry should free the room next week, so I may set them in the 60x60x120 indoor, waiting for sun.
Heights : GC = 36,5 cm / SB = 37.0
05/31/2024 : last defoliation before flowering.
I lollipopped and removed all that needed to be on Strawberry Banana and almost nothing on Gorilla Cookies.
They share the same height : 43.0 cm.
I switched to flowering week 1 schedule, giving 2,75 L each and checked run off : everything seems OK.
I'll spray tonight with Foliar Spray from B.A.C. (4 mL/L) just before "night".
06/04/2024 : no other feeding than rain water today (2,75 L - pH = 5.9 - EC = 31 µS/cm).
They had 2 sunny days in a row and obviously enjoyed it.
I'll keep them outdoor/daytime - indoor/nighttime as long as they don't smell (too much) and there isn't (to much) rain.
Heights : GC = 46,5 cm / SB = 45.0 cm
06/07/2024 : both are doing great after a week with 8h / day outdoor in full sunlight. GC looks more sativa and getting tall and large with few flowers whereas SB looks more indica with lots of short branches full of flowers. They tolerated switch to B.A.C. program without problem.
The only scratch on the surface is GC fan leaves are drooping a little, IDKW...
06/10/2024 : 2.5 L rain water with calmag and elycitor.
Flower sites now smell (if you get right next to the plant) : for SB it's something like candies and for GC it's more animal.
06/11/2024 : height is 52.5 cm for GC and 50.5 cm for SB.
06/18/24 : yesterday was probably last outdoor day (tomatoes leaves show first sign of mildew and it's raining at least for 5 days).
I'll set them up in my 60*60*120 with SF1000 as soon as latest harvest is dryed.
Heights are 55.0 cm for GC and 51.5 cm for SB, they can even gain 5 cm before it becomes a problem.
I doubt they grow much more : now it's all for buds!
06/21/2024 : After 3 weeks with days outdoor / night indoor, I can set up girls in a decent grow space!
Gorilla Cookies has been attacked by aphids (a few winged females in pistils then nymphs back of fan leaves) : I removed all concerned leaves and it seems OK now. Strawberry Banana had no bugs.
They are in 60x60x120 grow space with TS1000 (about 80%) 30cm away, DLI set to 45~55 - 18h/day.
Buds smell more and more...😍
06/24/2024 : let them 3 days without watering and they were starving... they drink more in grow space!
So it will be 1 watering every 2 days (and alternate once with B.A.C. schedule, next one with calmag, trace elements and biolife.).
06/29/2024 : was thinking there was a problem but they just entered late flowering a week earlier than scheduled...😅
Maybe 3 weeks outdoor boosted them a little.
No doubt posssible : buds are bigger, smell is stronger and fan leaves are yellowing when suggar leaves are not.
Removed a few dead leaves and heights were 57.5 cm (GC) and 52.5 cm (SB).
07/05/2024 : removed more dead fan leaves. Nothing special to mention this week, everything is going as planed.
I set DLI down to 40 : let's start maturing.
07/16/2024 : buds get big!
I see more and more orange pistils, fan leaves are finishing to turn yellow : everything is OK.
About 2 weeks from harvest, at least : time to start a new diet.
I set up a watering system with cheap smart pump connected to WiFi so I can give them 0.5 to 1.0 L rain water a day and feed them only once a week with B.A.C. products.
I can be almost a week away from home, it's nice.
DLI from 45/55 to 40/50.
Heights didn't change.
07/23/2024 : buds are fat, full of trichromes and smell is powerfull!
I noticed tiny white pests on fan leaves, but one week from harvest I won't mind...
14 weeks from seed to harvest : half indoor/half outdoor when sun was here...
I lollipopped plant, no other training used.
GC drank its feeding very fast and grew big and large in a 2 gallons smartpot despite I unrooted it at the begining : no doubt it would have been even bigger and larger.
Be aware that smell (something like chemicals) is very strong in late flowering!
Sadly, its leaves got infested with tiny white pests in the last week.
07/27/2024 : I decided to harvest today as there are more and more pests... and I can see amber trichromes.
I look for the best trick to remove pests and choosed "bud washing" technique with 2% hydrogen peroxyde, then rinced in rain water, then in demineralized water.
now drying...
08/04/2024 : got 41 g dried buds but only half was decent buds once trimmed. GC should had a few weeks more to mature without pests...
I shredded 20 g of unfinished/fluffy/popcorn buds and filtered it (120 nm) : got about 3.5 g kief, pressed to hash.
08/05/2024 : after 24h in the freezer, I got tiny extra bubble hash (120+25 nm).
14 weeks from seed to harvest : half indoor/half outdoor when sun was here...
I lollipopped plant + LST and defoliation to give buds some space.
SB isn't a big drinker and grew bushy in a 2 gallons smartpot.
Smell (something like candies) is strong in late flowering : loved it!
07/27/2024 : I decided to harvest today as there are few pests from Gorilla Cookies that came to Strawberry Banana... and I can see amber trichromes too.
I look for the best trick to remove pests and choosed "bud washing" technique with 2% hydrogen peroxyde, then rinced in rain water, then in demineralized water.
now drying...
08/04/2024 : well formed and dense buds once dried, now curing
