The plants are filling out very nice. One thing to note is that there is no way these will be done in 3 more weeks. Both plants showed pre flowers at the start of the week and have transitioned to bloom. I'll be switching the nutes over to bloom feeding next week.

Any difference in yield or quality on the topped plant?
Sgtoso
Sgtosocommented6 years ago
@bankster, That is a very good question and unfortunately I don't have an exact answer. I didn't bother weighing them separately for a few different reasons. 1. The flower structure was unique to each plant. The taller, non-topped pheno had bigger buds at the end but they weren't as dense as the shorter, topped plant. 2. I smoked some nugs right at trim time. Not sure which pheno I took them from. 3. Trichomes were all over the bud matter/sugar leaves of the non-topped plant, however, the nugs on the topped plant were super sticky. Personally, I prefer the tight, dense nugs from the topped pheno. I don't think topping really affected quality since the plants were finished correctly. With that being said, I won't be tossing out the nugs from the other pheno. Both turned out top shelf in the "effects" area. Yield is a big question but to give you an honest opinion, I would have to grow 8-10 of these side by side while topping half of them to get an average. I am assuming that the yields were similar with the non-topped plant coming out on top by a little bit. Thanks for stopping by the garden and checking it out! Peace

@70207k, 78.7 grams between the 2 plants after drying, trimming, and curing. Thanks for stopping by the garden! Peace

Hey man, Your girls are looking good. Nice and frosty! Gets me excited to see my garden in a few more weeks. I have 4 GC on day 34. They haven't started flowering yet, hopefully soon because, I have one girl that is 40 inches, two others at 32 or so and one at 20 something... lol. I think I have 2 or 3 different phenos too. Check out my diary and let me know what you think. Peace

@Smowkabowl, Hey man, thanks for stopping by to check out the garden! I'm getting excited too, but need to stay patient before I axe them. Both of my phenos are short but that doesn't stop the frost from coming. Sometimes nice things come in small packages. I'll swing by and check out your garden. Peace

How did topping one of the plants work out?
Sgtoso
Sgtosocommented6 years ago
@bankster, Can't really say at the moment. The untopped pheno is 24" tall. The topped pheno is 19" tall. I've got at least 3 weeks to finish these plants. After that it'll be time to dry and cure for another 6 weeks. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Growing!

@The_Projexx, Yeah I'm really pleased with how these are doing. They're not stretching too much but the node spacing is great. Should make some fantastic colas.
