First week - Germination.
All seeds soaked in a small plastic cup (pictured) for around 15 - 20 hours - cups stored in darkness in wardrobe. Seeds then placed directly in final 10 litre pot filled with Bio Bizz "Light Mix" soil.
All 4 Super Lemon Haze successfully germinated.
Plants 1,2,3 - Light Mix soil.
Plant 4 - More expensive, supposedly more nutrient rich soil.
Week 3 (or week 2 of vegetation)
The first three weeks all went very smoothly, lots of cloud cover, nice breeze, good temps - and the plants nursery shielded the worst of the direct sunlight.
This is when I started introducing the varied feed schedule.
No photos - they start with week 4
Time to start the diaries :)
First time growing Green House Seed Co. / Strain Hunters. 100% success with germination and they're looking sturdy.
As always, it's hot - but this year I've opted for more shade during the daytime hours.
Nutrient schedule completely revamped - using PH Perfect with a couple of Bio Bizz additions.
Just realised I miscounted and it was 4 weeks and not 3.
This brings the diary up to the correct date :)
Weather is taking a turn for the worst - which is actually a good thing, cooler temps, nice breeze.
Had a lovely run of weather this week - but now the crazy temps look like they're here to stay. Need to focus on keeping them in the shade where possible.
Plants are all looking healthy and sturdy - they're really taking shape now :)
Added a couple more nutrients: Bud Candy and Alg-a-Mic (I had them lying around from last year)
Germinating the last of the 5 seeds in the pack this week - will add it to this diary next week.
This was probably the last 'normal' week with ideal conditions.
Very, very happy with this strain - a seriously good grow so far with all 4/5 of these. Consistent across the board and they look... fat. I think it's Green House Seeds - so far, I'd rank them up there with the best.
Now it's soaring up to 38C and roasting hot.
Going to try and invest in a shade cloth and hope that helps.
On reflection, this is still better than previous grows. If I had started earlier (I usually start late April outdoors - this year was late May start) then I would have caught a LOT of bad weather - lots of cold and lots of rainfall.
Just need to keep them cooler somehow.
Added two new nutrients to the kitchen sink - Jungle Juice Bloom and Top Max - just stuff lying around from last year. Given that I have bombarded them daily with all sorts of nutrients, I am not seeing anything remotely like nutrient burn, etc. They all look great. Removed Bud Candy from the list (I was just finishing the last of it - may get some more)
These are looking really, really, good. Very impressed with the entire bunch so far. Huge, dense, bud sites, lovely smell :) Just perfect.
Finally popped the final one recently and added to diary.
Added Rhino Skin - supposed to help with heat stress.
Weather is brutally hot - but just a few weeks to go. Here's hoping they can handle this heatwave.
What can I say?
I'm pretty sure these are going to be the cream of the crop this year. Perfect grow from start to finish - super strong and really, really, fat bud sites.
We're hitting week 9 - I'll prob start harvest towards the end of next week - just got to check the trichomes through a lens and make sure it's not too early.
I wish all the plants were like these to be honest - but you never know until you start the grow - genetics can be all over the place.
Plants 1, 2, and 3 have been harvested.
I'll add the totals when I harvest plants 4 and 5
Plants 4 and 5 are considerably taller than the rest of them for some reason - it must be the heat.
Blazing hot week, not sure how they'll fare from here on out. Fingers crossed :)
Just waiting on these two now - interesting to compare these ones which have really been baked, compared to the first three which had a good 7 weeks in optimal conditions.
So far, they're handling the heat as well as can be expected. It's an inferno out there now - easily hitting 40+ in the sun. Ganja wasn't created for climates like this - it should be at least 5 - 10 degrees lower. Still, the buds are okay - it's mostly about the size of the yield at the end.
These blow my mind every time I look at them,
Got great yields/bud from plants 1,2, and 3 - and these are looking just as good.
They are doing amazingly well compared to all the other autos in this crazy heat. It's almost like they were bred for higher heat climates.
Going to harvest plant 4 in the next three or four days which would make it exactly 10 weeks from germination
Plant 5 is still going strong and looking great - another one or two weeks and the Super Lemon Haze's are done for 2024.
The last week for the last of the Super Lemon Haze autos. A perfect (lazy) grow :)
Whenever I get a pack of seeds (3x, 4x, etc) they almost always vary a little bit where some are bigger and at least one of the others is small. All 5 of these seeds were spectacular - they handled the crazy heatwave perfectly and the yields are high from every single one of them. This is a reliable strain if they're all like this - ideal for excessively hot climates where you can't control things.
Will update the final wet weight next diary entry once I'm done trimming - this last one is due to be harvested by the end of this week (10 weeks from germination)
