First week - Germination.
All seeds soaked in a small plastic cup (pictured) for around 15 - 20 hours - cups stored in darkness in wardrobe. Seeds then placed directly in final 10 litre pot filled with Bio Bizz "Light Mix" soil.
And this is the third Sweet Seeds this year - Looking forward to checking out this new strain.
It's not Bio Bizz 'Light Mix' - this is some more enriched (more expensive) nutrient rich soil - but I think i prefer the 'Light Mix' to be honest. General plant growth seems slower than normal.
1st week vegetation - all going well, temps are high, nice breeze - not 100% sure of this new soil mix, growth seems slow (ish)
Both plants in nursery for now...
Everything is going well, temps are still crazy high (had two almost 40C days this week) but it's cooler today, around 26 or 27C.
Still in the plants nursery for their own protection (birds, lizards, weather, etc)
Must remember to spray some neem oil on leaves later on...
Feeding started pretty early with these - at best 1 week of Root Juice, then all of the above.
Had a lovely run of weather this week - but now the crazy temps look like they're here to stay.
Plants are looking healthy and sturdy
Added a couple more nutrients: Bud Candy and Alg-a-Mic (I had them lying around from last year) A bit early for these, to be fair, but I couldn't be bothered to separate the feeds, etc.
This was probably the last 'normal' week with ideal conditions.
Not impressed with this dense heavy soil - and could be a real factor in how well these two grow. I wish I'd just gotten some Bio Bizz Light Mix
Now it's soaring up to 38C and roasting hot, this is where things get a lot more challenging. Heat it is good - but it stunts growth, messed with the plant in general and heat destroys THC/Terpenes - the problem is I don't have a dry freezing unit, all I have is a broken fridge :)
Going to try and invest in a shade cloth for the first time.
On reflection, this is still better than previous grows. If I had started earlier (I usually start late April outdoors - this year was late May start) then I would have caught a LOT of bad weather - lots of cold and lots of rainfall.
Just need to keep them cooler somehow.
Added two new nutrients to the kitchen sink - Jungle Juice and Top Max - just stuff lying around from last year. Given that I have bombarded them daily with all sorts of nutrients, I am not seeing anything remotely like nutrient burn, etc. They all look great.
These are both looking really good, very dense bud sites :) These are what I expect from Sweet Seeds.
Weather is now very extreme and need to pray they'll hold out for another few weeks in these conditions.
Added Rhino Skin to the nutrients list - supposed to aid heat stress.
Plant 2 has been harvested - will update when I chop plant 1.
Yields are spectacularly low for Sweet Seeds - but these were started (very) late and got the full force of the sun/heat.
The buds look and smell great, but this is not an ideal strain for really hot weather.
