First week - Germination.
All seeds soaked in a small plastic cup (pictured) for around 15 - 20 hours - cups stored in darkness in wardrobe. Seeds then placed directly in final 10 litre pot filled with Bio Bizz "Light Mix" soil.
Never tried 'Advanced Seeds' before - this was a free sample.
Like the Ripper Seeds "Kmintz Auto" (one of my other 2024 diaries) - I couldn't find an official entry for these seeds on GrowDiaries, hence the custom tag.
First week of vegetation - like the Diablo Rojo, these ones also start the main feed quite early on.
All good, temps are hot, nice breeze, some good cloud cover for a few days.
All good, temps are cooling off a little - still got nice cloud cover to block the infernal heat :)
Be interesting to see how these handle the heat this year - I'm trying to put them more in the shade wherever / whenever I can.
Lizards are around, but no acts of vandalism so far... birds are loud, but steering clear. Can't grumble.
Had a lovely run of weather this week - but now the crazy temps look like they're here to stay. Need to focus on keeping them in the shade where possible.
Plant is looking healthy and sturdy - seems to have really expanded this week :)
Added a couple more nutrients: Bud Candy and Alg-a-Mic (I had them lying around from last year)
This was probably the last 'normal' week with ideal conditions.
Now it's soaring up to 38C and roasting hot.
Going to try and invest in a shade cloth for the first time.
Definitely NOT happy with this dense, heavy, soil mix. It's clearly affecting the grow in a bad way.
On reflection, this is still better than previous grows. If I had started earlier (I usually start late April outdoors - this year was late May start) then I would have caught a LOT of bad weather - lots of cold and lots of rainfall.
Just need to keep them cooler somehow.
Added two new nutrients to the kitchen sink - Jungle Juice and Top Max - just stuff lying around from last year. Given that I have bombarded them daily with all sorts of nutrients, I am not seeing anything remotely like nutrient burn, etc. They all look great.
Looking very good - this was a free sample, so always curious to see where they take me.
Plant is looking good, handling the heat.
Added Rhino Skin to assist with heat stress (so it claims)
This was a freebie so anything I got from it is all a bonus.
Very low yield, but it is very, very, resinous and the buds like nice, if a tad loose.
Dried to 21g which one of the lowest yielding autos I've ever grown.
It was free... I can't complain - but this strain isn't suited to higher temperatures. Best suited for indoor grows imho - and the results could actually be quite good :)
10 weeks from seed to harvest (maybe a little more) The diary missed a week because of all the trimming.
Smooth and relatively quick trim, and very low yield. Still, it was free so I can't complain at all - and the bud does look really nice :)
Not perfect, but not bad either.
@resi_max, Thanks! This seed was a free gift from the shop - it will certainly be interesting when it's ready for harvest.
I'm not a fan of the soil though - I should have used Bio Bizz 'Light Mix' - that is definitely the best soil for ganja plants in my opinion. They didn't have any in stock so I went for this more expensive stuff - but it's very solid and doesn't seem very light at all.
@ErikoHashimoto, It looks like a lot - but I'd say a good photo-period plant is the equivalent of 4 or 5 autoflowers. So, I think there are 20 plants (approx) in total so far which = 4 or 5 photo-period (normal) plants. But I prefer autoflowers because I can get more variety - and they don't take 4 or 5 months to grow (I'm not the most patient person in the world). There is also the problem that around October around here, it can be wet and cold - and that can lead to bud rot. So it's best to use this smaller window for safety.
