2nd grow, did Super Silver Haze and White Cookies before from Crop King Seeds. Gonna try the Sour Jack as a grow and hopefully the grow will go better this 2nd time through.
I really need to work on making a better place for my seedlings to start. Something that holds the heat in better and raises the humidity level to make it easier on these little girls.
Sorry don't have more pictures. It's growing slow and well, I guess it's like anyone, 2nd time around you take less pictures.... -that's what she said-
She got repotted in her forever pot. 16 gallons, with a perlite topping to help her out. Need to get he flushed as I know the CC/HP is a little hot coming out of the bag.
She's still a small plant, trying to grow her out bigger, need to get her to streettttch some more. Would like to mainline her to at least 8 but she's taking her time about it.
Other then that she seems happy and so far has been easy to grow.
She is doing well. Ran a flush on her this week as I finally got a drip tray working again. Been doing some needed upgrades to my grow setup as grow 1 is done now and grow 2 is just filling out.
She is growing well, still one of the shorter plants I've grown but not bad. Thicker stock and very bushy. Last week under the blurples next week back to quantum country.
Sour Jack is just doing fine. Being far out paced by the ISS and BB but is far out pacing the slow Bubba Kush. We fed rain water for a week and she started showing some deficiencies (ISS and BB as well) in the micro department. So we picked up some Micro nutes and added it in. Saw a good response from all the plants. She's now out in the grow room and back under the quantum lights.
Going good, I split it to 8 and she's happy. Bushing out well and the branches/stalks are fat and strong, pulling out all the pins trying to tire her down.
So exciting when the switch to flowering happens.
I had the Sour Jack on the same watering schedule as the ISS and BB, but it's a much smaller plant and I'd get a lot of run off. So mid last week I stopped watering/feeding her. She only got watered 1 day this week and fed 1 day this week and I feel like she's really perked up and is liking to be dried out a bit more.
I added some more perlite to the top as the old coating was breaking down and being washed into the soil.
We are seeing a few white hairs come out on her.
I also gave her fan leaves a little trip to help expose more of the bud sites to direct light, I did that F6 but don't have a picture of it.
She got a flush and feed on F10 then had 4 days to dry out a bit before the next watering/feeding. There wasn't anything looking wrong I just wasn't happy with the PPM's in the run off, they were slowly climbing. I figured the easiest way to ensure everything was ok was to just flush and know I had reset to a clean state.
F9 pictures are post pruning. She's had a few prune jobs here and there over the last week. Taking off lower buds and leaves that won't get light to help airflow and concentrate the growing energy into the good top buds. I also took off a few of the top fan leaves each day as they grew overtop of another bud and cast a shadow on it. Want to keep these buds getting all the light they can.
Speaking of light, I've cranked the light up to max power now, 240w and she's loving it. No signs of light burn and she isn't taco'ing.
Smooth sailing so far.
So proud of this little girl. She has really stretched and bushed out during these first 3 weeks of flowering.
This week the last of the grow nutes as cut off and the Kool bloom and Bud Candy were increased.
Definitely being the ISS and Blueberry for bud development, but she's coming along well and is way ahead of the Bubba Kush.
Very happy to see how strong she is, was a bit worried about her during the veg stage, but she's impressed now that she's in flower.
Not much pruning on her this week, mainly just cleaning up some fan leaves there were shading other buds and removing the odd little popcorn buds underneath.
SJ is doing very well she looks happy and the buds are developing nicely. She gets fed/watered about every 4 days depending on how the soil and pot feel, the 16 gallon pot is a bit big for her size and she's not a very thirsty/hungry girl.
Stalk is nice and thick, branches are strong and still pulling pins out of the dirt. She's not going to need s scrog, she has enough strength to hold her buds up nicely.
Looking at her cola's/buds I think the cola's will be more similar to the ones I got on my Super Silver Haze grow, very wide dense cola's of medium height. It'd make me happy if she did... as long as they don't get bud rot.
So far so good, SJ is a champ.
The Evil Fat Step Sisters (Island Sweet Skunk and Blueberry) demanded more room for their big fat buds so poor *cough Cinderella* Sour Jack got kicked out to a smaller 2’x4’ apartment I had sitting empty anyways. One of the nice things is that I can lower the light down further now as before the leggy Ms. Blueberry forced them up high. The downside is that Sour Jack and Bubba Kush now have to share 240w total between the two, where before they got 240w above each of them (although higher up). Not sure what the reduced light is going to be like on her, but I'm hoping dropping the light down will help make up for it.
F35 now, on an estimated 9 week grow, so we are near/just after the half way point of our flowering cycle for her. Although she isn’t as impressive as the ISS or BB I still really like the way she is coming along. I think she’ll probably produce 4-6 oz and I’m ok with that. The buds are starting to frost in nicely and hopefully continue to swell.
She is a strong peppy girl and doesn’t have any issues, so far so good. I’m quietly optimistic that her buds are going to fill in thic, frosty, and phat.
I was away for over 1/2 of flower week 6, pictures were taken F39 right before I left on a work trip.
She’s doing well, tying her down to spread out the buds for ventilation and to allow the buds room to grow. No need for a scrog as she’s strong AF. Buds are a little on the small size compared to the Super Silver Haze and White Cookies from Crop King Seeps that we grew before at this stage.
She gets fed and watered every 4’ish days, that’s a lot less then the Super Silver Haze and White Cookies by Crop King Seeds or the Island Sweet Skunk or Blueberries that I’m growing at the same time as her. But she seems happy and she’s not as big as the other girls so it what she likes.
Not much more to say, she’s mid flower and doing well.
Ms. Jacks’ roommate Bubba Kush ended up being a hermaphrodite and has since been kicked out and run over on the street…. The big question right now is did the hermaphrodite fuck my sweet innocent Ms. Jack. I don’t know what to specifically look for or if it’s even possible to tell at this point. Crossing my fingers it didn’t happen and if it did it’s isolated to the few buds closest to where the Bubba Kush plant was.
Ms. Jack is doing just fine. Her buds haven’t gotten to be really thick and fat like the Super Silver Haze did from Crop King Seeds. They are much smaller buds, but there are a lot of them. The white hairs have mostly turned orange now and the microscope shots show that she is looking 80+% cloudy but no real amber to see yet. She has a breeder est harvest date a week after the Blueberry that is being grown at the same time, and a week before the Island Sweet Skunk that I’m growing right now as well. Her tricombs look to be exactly between the two of them, so I think we are all good on the timeline.
For a girl that is suppose to be 16.75% THC I’m really surprised by the destiny of the tricombs and the frostiness of the buds.
Started Ms. Jack off with reduced nutes feeding this week and then changed her over to water only flush middle of the week. She usually goes 4 days between feed/watering and I wanted to get more then 1 flushing in her before harvest. Leaving it to the last week only would give me only 1.. maybe 2 flushes before I dropped her. I think I’ll increase it to every 3 days so I get a few more flushes of water in.
Ms. Jack is doing well, lots of branches and lots of little buds. She’s got a dual cola “tower” going in the middle that are definitely the biggest on her. But her buds never did the massive swell like most of the other strains I’ve grown. She’s going to be a lower producer, nice medium size plant but the small buds are going to hurt the yield weight.
The tricomb shots look very cloudy with just the a little odd amber in there. Estimated 1 more week to ripen up, but I can extend that longer if the tricombs need a bit more. The hairs are very orange on her, she is looking much older then the ISS next to her.
On the last day I moved her into the larger 4x4 tent in with the Island Sweet Skunk. The Blueberries got harvested and there was no reason to run 2 tents 1/2 empty. She’ll spend her last week bunking with the Island girl. The Blueberry was massive and dominated the tent over the ISS. But now the Sour Jack looks tiny compared to the massive ISS.
Last week for Ms. Jackie, she’s been getting lots of water this past week. The tricombs didn’t amber up much until the last couple days, and even then they were IMO only about 10%’ish amber. All the white hairs are orange and she’s seems to be screaming to me to harvest her so I’m going to take her now. Maybe she just doesn’t amber in much??
Ms Jack dropped on day 63, the very last day of week 9. Crop King says she’s a 9 week girl so with the way she’s looking I thought this is the right time for her to go.
The leaves on her back half really coloured in but the leaves on her front 1/2 didn’t change much. Her tricombs look dense on the buds, much denser then the White Cookies or the Super Silver haze that I grew from Crop King Seeds. It’s going to be interesting to see how she compares for smoking.
The branches are very strong on her, she never needed any support. In fact she liked to pull out pins and tare off wires.
Her wet trimmed weight was 692g, I seem to be averaging just above or just below 20% net dry so that puts my ESTIMATE at 140g mark (5 oz) dry weight.
Ms. Sour Jack is a medium size plant, she did ok, but just ok. She never really found her stride and it always felt like she had a boat anchor tied around her neck. I feel like I never really figured out what she wanted, was it to hot, to cold, to wet, to dry, more food, less food….. I tried everything and she just seemed to want to grow at her own pace and didn’t care what I did.
She defiantly didn't take advantage of her large pot, she is a slower grower. At week 3 I actually started a 2nd seed thinking maybe it was just this seed that was slow and a 2nd one might grow faster/better. But the 2nd seed grew slow like the first one so I killed it off (legal plant limit). If I grow this girl again I think I'd just grow her in a 5-7 gallon and see how she does because she really didn't need or use that extra room int he pot.
She is very strong, like to pull pins out of the soil and never needed any support for the buds.
The root ball showed more of her lack of growth. She grew down far, right to the bottom of the pot, however she didn't grow roots out to the sides. She had an extreme V shape to the roots, wide on top and only a few roots in the middle at the bottom. You can see the comparison of her roots next to the Blueberry and Island Sweet Skunk roots, all 3 were grown at the same time, in the same size pots, with the same nutes, in the same condition (mostly in the same tent).
