2nd grow, gonna run some more Crop King Seeds, trying out the Bubba Kush. The grow room has/is getting some upgrades as well to help alleviate problems we saw in our first grow and to make it warmer now that we are heading into fall.
Cooler temps and lower humidity in the fall is defiantly slowing down the growth of these girls. Would help if I had a better setup for the seedlings. Future plans I guess.
She is much bushier then the Island Sweet Skunk and BC Blueberry I am also growing at the same time. Interesting to see the different genetics play out.
Bubba seems to be having the most trouble of the 4 I'm growing right now. Not sure why but she just never seems to be very happy. Smallest of the group with a few odd looking leaves.
Still has some weirdness in the leaves. She got moved up in pot size with the others, we'll see if this helps out. Gonna do a flush next week and make sure the PH and PPM levels are all good on her.
She's a little sad. Doing a flush on her as the promix soil in the new put is hot, run of was in the 1400ppm so I got it doing into the 600ppm range and going forward she should be doing better.
She got a flush last week and is looking better. Moved back under the blurples so the ISS and Blueberry could get flushed this week. Small and bushy as normal.
Bubba is short, stumpy, and bushy, she just doesn't stretch out like the other girls. She back under the quantum lights and is getting hit at 150watts again. Ran rain water for the past week and some of the girls were showing deficiency (Zinc mainly), Bubba was fairly good but we decided to hit her with Micro as well.
She is still very short and bushy. Little deficiency or ?? excess?? It's minimal, I think I'm over watering bit and I'll cut it back a bit.
Run Off isn't showing much feeding so I'll maybe flush next week.
Oh and going to flip to flower next week.
First week of flowering..... here we go!
So as I said in my last entry I thought I was over watering Bubba, I stopped watering her mid last week. She went 7 days with no water and no food, dried up a lot and started looking a lot better. I only watered her once and fed her once this week (FW1).
She's looking a lot happier and NomNom is pleased with the results.
You can see a big difference is F1 vs F5, she's a short bushy bitch but I'm looking forward to trying her out.
The BlueBerry has been crowding Bubba so there was a big chop to make sure this short girl got all the light she deserved.
I have her a little under the wattage I have quoted here, I said it was 250w but I'm actually down around 210w.
Bubba's as been looking really good but run off was starting to climb, so she got a big flush on F10.... a big big flush, 70+L. Followed by a light feeding then 4 days to dry out.
Bubba is looking good for who she is. She's a short stubby girl, she's had no real flower stretch to speak of. Anyone trying to go in confined area's really should check her out, she'd make a great specimen for you.
Every couple days I pull a some large fan leaves off her that are covering buds or are growing into the soil.
Everything is steady like a metronome with her.
She seems happy, doesn't show any problems. Removed the last of the grow nutes this week and increased the KoolBloom and Bud Candy a bit.
Very minimal stretch during these first 3 weeks of flower. I was hoping she'd find some more legs during the stretch period.
She seems happy just very short and bushy. Not sure if it's the strain, the particular seed, or something I'm doing wrong? Maybe she is just a slow bloomer and she'll get rocking in two or three weeks. I'm in no rush, if she takes a few weeks longer to mature I'll let her have it.
Bubba got a major trim at the start of the week. She was forming a lot of flower under the branches and bushing up the flowers tightly together. This was causing excess moisture and leaf curl to happen. I needed to get it handled or I'm fairly sure it would have festered bud rot in it.
Buds are a more separated now and she is doing fine... I guess. Little concerned about the compact and dense buds she's forming not being able to breath/get airflow and resulting in bud rot.
She likes to grow new bud sites all the way down the branches and stalk in area's that were trimmed back long ago. Not sure what to make of it. I'm keeping an eye on her as I'm worried she might hermie or go to bud rot on me. I'm actually tempted to move her into my 2x4 veg tent that is sitting empty right now, get her segregated from the other girls incase she forms rot or hermies out. I really hope doesn't but maybe it's better to be cautious.
Ms. Bubba Kush I was already thinking about moving her over to the 2’x4’ tent alone last week and with the ISS and Blueberry needing a bit more room as well it made the decision easy. She acts very different from the other 3 girls I have going right now. She likes to produce new flowers down the old stems/branches. She doesn’t seem to want to grow out the tips but rather likes to start lots of new buds down the branches and stems that were cleared months ago. She’s also very dense with her buds on the ends and doesn’t want to stretch at all. He buds are a bit odd as well, a lot more leaf matter and less hairs. I’m not saying this is wrong, it’s just very different than the other girls and it strikes me as odd as I don’t have much experience with this.
With all the new bud sites down the stems I’m concerned she might hermie and I’ll miss it as the buds are tucked up and under stems. With the Island Sweet Skunk and Blueberry going nuts I decided that if I was going to make a move I’d take the Sour Jack as well to allow more breathing room for the other 2. If Bubba hermies on me she might wreck my Sour Jack and I’d be a bit pissed about that, but at least I’m getting her out of the tent with all the other girls.
I really hope she proves me wrong but I’ve also been saying that every week since the start, just waiting for her to find that 6 pack of Red Bull I hid in the pot and take off like a rocket…. But it hasn’t happened and I’m beginning to accept it’s not going to happen.
At this point I’m just crossing my fingers that she doesn’t get bud rot or hermie on me. My expectations for her are now very low.
What can I say about bubba I haven’t said before. Not much movement on her. The buds are growing but so slow I’m not sure if she’ll be done 6 months from now.
She doesn’t have a bit of purple in her buds, something I wasn’t expecting.
She’s continuing to grow new buds down low on the old stalks & branches that have been long stripped bare.
With the purple showing up in the flower I went back to Crop King Website to look at their pictures to try and see if purple is part of this girls profile, it isn’t. I then started reading the reviews on Crop Kings website for this strain and found that a lot of people are having issues with this strain, especially with hermies. I have some suspicion that some of the buds might be male, I have to watch her closely she might hermie on me.
Did some more digging on the Bubba Kush from Crop King Seeds, a lot of people have issues with this strain performing badly and going to hermie. Even the reviews on Crop Kings Website for this strain are 75% negative about bad genetics and hermie.
I grew 4 strains at the same time, all had the same conditions, this is the only strain that hermied on me.
I’m really FUCKING PISSED off at Crop King for continuing to sell seeds they know are bad genetics, and at myself for not killing this bitch off weeks ago when I suspected something wasn’t right with her but kept trying to be optimistic.
The rest of my Crop King - Bubba Kush seeds are sentenced to death by FIRE. These should not be allowed to exist in this world.
If someone here can tell me what I did wrong or what I could have done different to prevent her from going hermie I’d really like to hear those answers. But from all the other people I’ve seen that have had issues with this strain I think it’s most likely bad genetics.
