5 strains - 10 plants - The All American Run, Shall Be Fun
Hi there,
So old grower, first diary on GD.
A simple setup to run 5 different American strains, all to be found online. 2 seeds of each, all regular seeds, hopefully between 4-7 females, normal ratio here about 60% females.
All seeds were started in glasses of water for 24 hours, then 2 days in the seed germ box, actually my old lunch box, with a heatpad, then planted out in small containers to begin with.
Thankfully all the seeds germinated and are now 7 days old, from germ to current status, put them under a small Led lamp yesterday, a Mars Hydro TS 600, running at 83 watt, supposedly a 100 watt lamp.
I use 120mm PC fans(4 in total), hence they are cheap to run and dont take up that much space, as I will show later on, they do the trick in my experience.
Exhaust this time around will be my 280 cubic meter inline fan, passive intake from the back on the tent.
I use GHE nutrients, primarily for the last 4-6 weeks on flower, hence the soil is prefertilized and works well for many weeks, no PH adjustment.
Last time, I replanted the plants I had in flower, when they were in week 4 of flower, that gave them quite a boost, this will also be done this time round.
For the first 2 weeks, they will be under the small lamp, mentioned before, then in flower they will go under my QkWin 240 Watt Led lamp, cheesy name, but it does the trick and at 150 dollars, its cheap aswell.
Due to electric/power prices I monitor closely how much powerr is used, therefore the QkWin lights will run at 150 watts, not a lot, but enough, last run with 4 plants gave me 153,1 gram, which is fine and dandy.
A week from now, the plants will be repotted into larger containers(2 liter), when gender has been shown, I will add a drip watering system, Blumat Tropf, works great for people like me that cant do manually
watering successfullly.
Questions are more than welcome and now onwards and upwards.
Day 9, All ten plants growing along.
Day 10, Removed a runt, the KC White x Blue Mountain and replanted them all in 1 liter containers.
Day 11, Growing.
Day 12, Growing.
Day 13, Moved them into another tent, same size, QkWin led hung, fans and exhaust now added aswell.
Day 14, today July 17, 1plants are now between above the ground for 9-12 days. Light set at 125 watt. 18 hour light schedule.
Will update in a week from now, depending on things, I plan to put them into flower come next week.
So week 3 now from germination, general age of plants above ground level so to speak is between 17-19 days.
They all have name tags now, makes it easier for me and you the viewer.
Just put them into flower, yesterday 23/7. Lights adjusted to 150 watts, in Bloom mode, still no nutrients used, hence as mentioned soil is prefertilized.
Now in 5 liter containers, come this weekend I will add the Blumat Tropf dripsystem to them, external tank of course.
Shall be interesting to see how many girls I get, the size of tent allowes for 4 plants to be grown good, more than that and I tend to get less total bud in the end, but time will tell.
Have a good one people...
Here we are, day 28 from germination start, plants about 24-26 days above ground level. Been in flower for 8 days today 31/7, no real signs of gender yet.
Blumat Tropf drip watering system added 6 days ago, 10 liter reservoir external from tent, to keep temperature down on the water.
Still no nutrients added, again no ph measurement or adjustment.
Two plants, the biggest ones were fimmed yesterday, to keep height down and better overall canopy, more to follow that path a bit later on.
Hopefully soon I will begin to see how many girls there are, hence as you can see, it is getting more and more crowded in there.
Have decided if I get 6+ girls, I will change the tent out, maybe, to a 100 x 100 x 180 cm.
Light still running at 150 watts in bloom mode.
Added a few closeups of the Authentic Genetics Purest Indica IBL.
More to follow next week.
Have a good day.
So week 5 update,
Plants have been in flower for 15 days now, because they are young seedlings, gender signs tend to take longer, especially for the girls, whereas males always show their stuff first.
6 females in total, 2 x Purest Indica IBL plus 2 x 91´ Chemdog x D NL#5 and 2 x Garlic Breath x Brandywine x Chocolate Cookies.
Sadly all 3 plants from Sunny Valley Seeds turned out to be male, never had that before, hence out of 3 I would expect atleast one, but thats life.
I sadly cant use the larger tent as mentioned previously, but have decided to go along with 5 girls, as the pictures show.
Because of 5 plants, I cant use the normal 12 liters containers I have, therefore I will build a big container for them, giving me a total of 90 liters of soil, should be fine, will happen in about 2-3 weeks from now.
Still no nutrient added, will as mentioned come later.
A few closeups on the Purest Indica IBL.
Enjoy your week...
Week 6 has arrived, 21 days in flower.
The girls have become "hairy", I like it.
I changed my mind in relation to the amount of girls in the tent, hence it get crowded in there. So day 37 another one bit the dust and was removed, the smallest of the Purest Indica IBL, which has joined the previously removed 91´ Chemdog x D NL#5 on my terrace for more veg. and later on flowering inside.
The girls are between 30 and 60 centimeters today, the Purest Indica IBL in the foreground left side doesnt really grow/strecht that much compared to the others, hopefully it will still grow well enough although distance from the lamp is larger.
As you can see, the 91´ Chemdog x D NL#5 is less green than the others, a downside to growing several strains with the same reservoir, therefore I have begun giving them some nutrients, Micro and Bloom, no grow because most of them grow good enough I think.
In about a week or 10 days time, I will replant them in 12 liter containers and thereafter begin giving them more nutrients until week 8, then I will flush them for a week or 2.
All for now...
So here we are day 49, 29 days in flower, forgot 1 day in the previous update.
Well, kind of sad to make an update, hence as you see, some of the girls are quite yellow/light green. I did replant them in the 12 liter containers with plenty of new soil on Sunday 18/8.
I think a combination of distance to the light and the Blumats Tropfs running "wild" on some of them has made this happen, because as you can see the Purest Indica IBL is very dark green.
I have added a picture of the 2 girls I removed on previous updates, to show the difference. Same soil, same containers yet differences.
However I believe that the combo of them being replanted and more control of the Blumats will help them improve greatly. I dont believe that fertilizer or lack of ph is to be blamed,, we´ll see.
Looking ahead...
Week 8 is here, day 36 in flower today.
Becoming a happy camper again, hence although some of the ladies still have some yellowing leaves, they are getting better more green and bigger buds coming out.
Height now between 40 and 80 cm.
Decided to start up another tent, same size with the 2 removed ladies, Purest Indica IBL and 91´ Chemdog x D NL#5 previously removed due to space issues, they have both been topped once and flowering
has continued outside, this began yesterday 27/8. They will be shown along these ladies from next week, will be under the Mars TS600.
Stay tuned...
So day 43 in flower, 9 weeks in total, if memory serves me corect.
Added a top layer of sand on them last week, hence I have seen a few small flies in there, believe they come from the soil mix, has helped alot, plus the sticky plates do their job.
Still no nutrients really added, because the soil is well fertilized, after giving them a small amount of nutrients earlier on, I have noticed yellowing tips on all of them, so going to continue with clean water for the
time being.
As mentioned last week, I have started up another tent with the 2 ladies I didnt have space for in the first tent, after being outside for a while, they were put under 12/12, 8 days ago today, and will continue
flowering for another 6-8 weeks - depending on various things. A few pictures added of these aswell.
Looking forward to the next couple of weeks, hence the buds are becoming bigger and bigger, especially the 91´ Chemdog x D NL#5 at the moment.
I really like the overall appearence of the Purest Indica IBL, very dark colours and of course the "frost" on the buds, if the end product is as good as the plant looks, I´ll be a happy camper indeed.
See you next week...
Day 70 from germination, day 50 in flower today - 11/09.
Plants are still blooming strong, still only plain water, now mainly rainwater hence fall has begun.
Had a run out of water yesterday, when one of the Blumats went a bit "wild", now in control again, even tough that happened, the Garlic Breath x Brandywine x Chocolate Cookies fimmed pheno was a bit droopy this morning.
I plan on harvesting them 16 days from, simply because I need weed and also due to people coming in the area where the plants are growing to fix some things for me.
Also a few pictures of tent 2, the others girls, they have now been inside and under 12/12 for 15 days, a bit hard to tell exactly how many weeks they still have to go, I know they have weeks to go, therefore I will give them atleast 5 weeks more, if not 6-7, time will tell.
Have a good week...
So another week has gone by.
The colder weather here has begun to affect the plants, as you can also tell on the many colors coming out.
In all my years of growing, the Purest Indica IBL is the only plant/strain that throughout its grow, has remained so "dark" green as this one has, even here in late flower.
Cant wait to try the Purest Indica IBL, come 14-21 days after harvest time. Which due to various circumstances will be, 25/7, day 64, I know they could have done with atleast 2 weeks more if not 3, but "weeds"
must.
Still plain water.
Plus a correction, some of them were fimmed/topped once, in the beginning of flower, due to height differences, has not been done more than one time.
Have a good week...
For some reason, site kind of weird, hence it will not let me edit smoke week for two of the plants, seems to have something with the strain description to do, go figure.
So to recap,
The fimmed pheno of Chroma Seeds - Garlic Breath x Brandywine x Chocolate Cherry Kush Pie, yielded 33,7 grams and has a clear Cherry taste to it, otherwise like the other one a good kush.
The 91´ Chemdog x D NL#5 which was the biggest plant, yielded damn good in my opinion, at 50,5 grams, also a nice kush, without any berry smell or taste, nutty kush pheno.
Swami Organic Seed only to be recommended. swamiseed.org
I did sample prior to weighing them, plus they will still dry more as the weeks go on, 123,5 grams as the pictures show, plus 4 grams already smoked minus more dry/cure time, about 120 grams, less than last time,
but decent for my own consumption, plus I also have tent 2 still running. Where the other Purest Indica IBL pheno was until a week ago, harvested due to space for the other plant the 91´ Chemdog x D NL#5.
It will continue to flower for other 4-5 weeks from today, where it is 6 weeks in flower, 70 days plus in flower is my plan.
Have a good day...

Week 12. Harvest
Happy Harvest Day!
Purest Indica aka the Steve Murphy Afghan IBL - Authentic Genetics
So harvest time for the ladies.
Had to harvest day 62, yesterday, a few days prior, hence I sadly discovered some bud rot in the adjacent plant next to the Purest Indica IBL.
Could have gone more weeks as mentioned earlier, but due to risk of rot in general they were cut down, therefore the pictures were taken rapidly, not many details, therefore not my best ones.
I have never weighed the buds wet, because what is important to me, has always been what is on the scale, 3-4 weeks later when dried.
Grown this strain about 3-5 times now, never lets me down, this pheno was topped once in early flower, this resulted as you can see a good amount of "top" buds, added a lighter for comparison.
First time growing this strain from Chroma Seeds, tryed a few times before, but never had females before this run, and then 2, great.
Here the fimmed pheno is shown, smell when harvested reminded me a bit of a Purple Kush, I grew years ago, very different from the other unfimmed pheno.
FYI, flowering was done for all the ladies under the QKWin quantum board, at 150 watts.
Second pheno, which was unfimmed, smells quite different from her sister, shall be interesting to taste the difference, come 3-4 weeks from now, again lighter to compare.
