11 July 2024 - Water Cup ##### 16 Juy 2024 - CocoCoir "Veg Week 1 Started"
Learned from past mistakes and inability to wait.. (also, my Light is missing so: IONBOARD S22 - LED AC Infinity)
Placed 2 of 3 seeds (if it's good, then I can grow the third as a Mother plant.) in a glass of water (150ml) with 2ml Hydrogen Peroxid (used to do this for tomatoes..), after around 14 Hours they were both on the bottom, so:
Took 2 identical Dishes, folded up 3 paper towells and gain in half (so 6 thick) and watered them, did this twice to get 2 pads. Placed one bundle at the bottom and put the seeds on it. Covered it up with the other bundle and made sure it was wet but not soaked (lifted one side of the bowl, waited 3 minutes and then dumped water out). finally covered the whole thing with the second Bowl.
19° Night, 25° Day, Air Moisture around 75.
Edit: 18 Hours into Incubation and Tap roots are around 1cm long.
Last Edit: Day 5, looking good. first Leaves are there. moving to Veg themn on Day 7 I suppose. Starting to dump 10ml R.O Water with Root and Grow Nutrient directly around the base to keep it damp. Damp but not wet. Earth is damp when you touch it, but nothing much stays stuck to my finger.. it's a learny thing.
Week 1 - 15.07.2024 - 22.07.2024
So, switching to Veg. Light is at 40% Power (will measure that later to see what that translates to for the plants) adding 10% Light per 2 Days.
Week 2 - 22.07.2024 - 28.07.2024
Just watering every day when I notice no longer damp (Mornings only)
Day 8 (24.07): looking good up to now. not going to be much to report for the next week or 2 I think.
Day 10 (26.07): nice growth to now but I have a feeling there may bee some light leaf burn So I left the power at 60%, see if the Leaf side curls go back down.,
Noticed yesterday (25.07) that the light was not helping. So I went all PPFD Rabbit Hole and bought a meter. Have now set them to the light amount recommended, 520 PPFD (300-600 PPFD at Canopy). They seem a lot happier already today.
Watering is still a "feeling" but arounnd 200-300 ml per day. Just letting the earth get a little drier and then making it damp again. This is harder than it looks to find the "sweet spot"
Week 3 - 29.07.2024 - 04.08.2024
I totally forgot for 5 Days to add the Grow B to the mix.. hence the lovely yellow--but i digress.
Growing nicely though, may top in a day or 2.
I FIMed both yesterday. (Week 3 Day 2 31.07) and will just let them be for a few days now to recover.
Upped the watering now to include the whole surface, prepped with 2.5 Liters per Plant. Followed Feed Recommendations.
Looking greener all day now.
Week 4 - 05.08.2024 - 11.08.2024
So. Week 4. Looking good, no more yellow *cough*.
I moved the light down to 45cm above the canopy again and they suddenly went through the roof in growth this week. like crazy through the roof.
Looks like a week 5 flip.. we'll see.
I got a tip today.. basically, 6AM for a plant, does not need to be 6AM for you if it lives in a box in the cellar.. Turn the lights on overnight and morning, basically 19:00 to 13:00 and leave it off during the afternoon where it is warmest. Reduces the heat during the day and keps the warmth at night so the difference stays a few degrees. Not sure about flipping NOW, but maybe to flower zeit, anyone have experience with changing the times the lights are on? I assume do not cut the light short, instead let it run through one session and turn it off at the new 12/12 time?
Week 4 - 12.08.2024 - 18.08.2024
Not a good week for the Ladies as far as Temp and Humidity are concerned.. Southern Germany: 34° 80% Humidity. Doing what I can to reduce, have shifted the light time to be OFF in the afternoon. Just added an hour a day to the light but left the off time to 6 hours throughout. No Hermies, No Flowering yet, so may have gotten away with it.
Plants looking really good though, had to remove a fan Leaf on each Plant because the new growth just was not getting any light. Looks better now and JUMP JUMP, For the weed. Am going to look at the end of this week, maybe Flower switch, maybe wait another week or 2. not decided yet.
LOTS of new growth (Kolas) coming through, I will just let this ride for this week and see where we stand on friday, no LST, just a week holiday for the Ladies. Have a Still Cam working, so might even get a video up this week at some point :D
OH: I got annoyed with different "sources" of info where the light should be: So I got a light sensor for ppfd and set it to be around 490 at canopy, drops to around 350 underneath. But the plants responded well to that change!! Lamp is now at around 17" from the Canopy at 70%. Have now got 30% more light to throw at it in flower.
Day 2: I had to now do some LST, there is so much growth down below trying to get straight up, pulling everything out a bit :)

Growth was high this week, so I am flipping.. may even be too big now :)
WIll not have much to say for a week or 2 now.
Week 7 - 26.08.2024 - 01.09.2024
coming along really well. unlike my photography skills. they are shooting in size. i had to replan the shape and go for a triangle attemp. 2 of these is too much for a 60*60. I should have done one and topped a second time :)
Defoliated on Friday 30.08.2024 - cos they was getting bushy. Honestly think it would have been better to have 1 Plant and mainline it,,, :D

Coming along and flowering nicely.

Starting to smell a little, but like really faint. This week they have SHOT up. went from 60 to 85 in 4 days!!
Week 9 - 09.09.2024 - 15.09.2024
Started the week with 86 CM. At some point they'll stop right?!
Flowers are forming nicely, size is impressive (ooer) to be honest I am not sure but are different seeds of a sort always so different? these plants look com,pletely different to another. Bot Kalini Asia but so different.
I 3D printed a couple of ring sections for the plant pots (4 Quarters)= they give massive support to the plants, you can pull and push on them, Happy. I'll add some new piccies this evening when the ladies wake up.
Regrets: Yeah I should have done more LST earlier on, you live and learn.
Week 10 - 16.09.2024 - 22.09.2024
AWESOME, did I already say how awesome these are today? :) That may be just my opinion, but it is the important one for me. Also, changing the schedule to have the plants awake at night is: cheaper than over the day, cooler than over the day, leaves a much smaller difference between temperature night / day cycle. BUT, it means I can only start working on them after 19:00. and I am generally a little "fuzzy" by then :D But on the whole, it was a great decision.
I am feeding exactly as written, the plants are taking between 1 and 3 Liter water every 2 days. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I added a CO2 Bag and a CO2 Starter Kit into the tent., Not sure how much it brings, but hey, 1% is more or? I would say if the food requirement goes up, then CO2 does what is expected
the buds are currently forming along around 50-60CM DOWN each kola and just running up, am now just hoping for a thickening (Hence CO2)
Smell is, naja, there, when I open the tent it is strong, but it is generally gone after 30 seconds of being open, you can smell the individual buds, but the tent is scent free at that point.
Week 11 - 23.09.2024 - 29.09.2024
Well. Been a week, but I got a second larger grow tent (long story, but ran out of room in the 60*60 :/) so big one now in a 100*100, small one still in 60*60. Lots more room and tested the Light with Photone+Diffusor (tested against a 400Euro Light meter and they were the same +-1%.) plus the smaller plant is now at least 10cm smaller and was getting around half the PPFD, so gave them both seperate suns.
So. here is the kicker: My wife informed / reminded me, that I decided to start 3 seeds and only 2 made it. " 2*kalini and one SOMETHING ELSE..... Just proves the point my last grow was good :D
If anyone can identify the 2, I'd be grateful. I think it was OG or critical Kush.. but could have been anything really..
Week 12 - 30.09.2024 - 06.10.2024
Getting excited here (as of next week she could be ready, we'll see). Still did not really work out which is which and why they look so different (except I was "under the influence") but hey, whatever. It's all bud at the end of the day, am i right?
I would say currently overall, I have 25% clear, 74.5% Milky and 3-7 Amber Trichome (no, not percent, just 3-7 of them) ;)
The Main Bud on the big plant is now 48cm long (with an option to conglomorate with 2 further sets of buds down below. Which would give me a 60cm Bud Top to bottom..10cm thick at its biggest point and looking dense (in a positive way, not like, dribbling out the side of its mouth, dense) squeeze test also says "gonna be awesome", or maybe it was me that squealed :)
Oh. CO2, honestly, It doesn't make any difference in the Math unless you can push at least 1200 PPFD. Which I can. SO hahaha. But I still wont be doing it again. I am growing for fun and me, so getting 5% extra is just not worth the stress. If you can only keep 50g, why grow 500g?..
Yes, I see the yellow tips, looks like lightburn from the CO2 Excess experiment. I will move the light back out of range and drop back to 900PPFD at the canopy top.
Week 13 - 07.10.2024 - 13.10.2024
I am now doubting my sanity and thinking I managed to plant 3 Kalini Asia without actually planting any :/ There is no Purple to see without a microscope and a good deal of "maybe, there or there" with a microscope. WHatever. My 2 unknown plants are doing ok. the smaller one looks a little out of sorts, need to get in there and fix that. I honestly am not sure it will fix as it seems to be a nutrient takeup issue. whenever I water, it just stays wet. I last watered completely 4 days ago and the earth is still not dry..
But the other one is looking good. :D Tent is starting to get back to 70% if I am not watching carefully. The second tent has no real extractor-fan, just a 12v fan (works, but you know. could be stronger) so I'll upgrade that as soon as possible.
For those wondering why the plant light distance is shrinking.. naja. the roof does not grow with the plant. 160cm is pretty much the limit. take 25 for the pot+earth, 40 for the extractor / light and 160 = 95cm.. which is a problem when they go over 95cm :D
Week 14 - 14.10.2024 - 20.10.2024
So, on sunday I flushed both plants with clear water and finally with R.O water. Darkness coming. on a slightly more alarming note, I noticed a banana on one bud. I removed that general direction. I have not noticed any others since then. I had a day where the old extractor couldn't cope and I went to 77% humidity for a few hours...hope it was a small hiccup.

Due to a scare with some bananas and a general feeling of "there's enough Amber" I flushed for 3 days, turned off the lights and left them for 48 Hours in the dark. On Thursday I culled them...
I didn't weigh them at all as they are still attached to the tree. :D Plan is now to dry upside down for 7 Days, remove the last leaves, place into the drying rack and leave them moisture controlled at 70 dropping to 60 % over another 5 days. if they need 2 more, then ok but I think that will be more than long enough. At the end I hope they'll have their 62% and I'll transfer then to their Bags and or jars.
Definately going to put equal amounts into a clear glass jar, brown glass jar and a terploc bag. wait 8 weeks and see which tastes best. and as soon as I weight it, I'll update that
