Dessert Isles sprouted 16 days ago, Orange Haze 11 days ago.
Upgraded to a new lamp today and topped the Dessert Isles. Plant looked healthy and had nice growth so far.
Will top the Orange Haze too, when its ready.
Turned the light intensity to 100%, should have done so earlier, as the plants did not react with stress.
Next run, i will keep a closer eye on Light and start earlier with higher DLI. I guess thats why my plants already stayed rather short during the last run.
Still getting to know the light, but i like it so far.
LST is coming along nicely for both.
Plants are developing really well. Getting bushy and dense. Maybe i will defoliate in the coming days. Still adjusting the LSTs here and there.
I threw a couple of wicks in the basin beneath my fabric pots and am really surprised, how good it works, even from the outside of the pots.
Maybe i will insert some wick into the medium in the coming days. Maybe like this: https://imgur.com/a/BSIbtMT
It works so well, that for my next run, i will try to get into a diy self watering system.
Right now im designing some 3D printed brackets to guide the wicks in an even pattern through the soil.
Will go for a 20 liter reservoir beneath four smaller fabric pots and put some wicks through some holes in the fabric.
Installed a new base for my DIY self watering wicking system.
I will be on 3 week vacation in a couple of weeks. A buddy will come and take care from time to time. Still, i don´t want him havin to come over every 2nd day to water my plants. Just filled the reservoir with 10 liters after top dressing the plants. Lets see how long it lasts them.
Also had to defoliate more than ever, as the SOH was so bushy and dense. Plants look really healthy and i think they take the bottom watering really well. I already see roots growing out of the fabric pots, where the wicking lines are touching.
I´m also really happy with my LST Job. They both have really even canopies and grow nice end even.
Added some protective foil to reduce evaporation. Also added an airstone to keep the water from being stagnant. Also upped the amount of water to 15 liter. It took 6 days for the plants to drink up. At the end of day 7 the soil is dry again. So its enough for my buddy to top dress and fill the Reservoir once a week in my absence.
Now im back to handwatering until my vacation starts.
