Pretty steady week. Seedlings for the Black Widow are doing better and have developed their first true set of leaves. lots of discoloration due to a faulty ph meter. should be cleared going forward. with the Blue Dream MC's we can see new vegetative growth. all is going well.

As you can see above I've got two Blue Dream Clones I'm Monster Cropping. My question is when should I top them? They are currently reveging( I'm not sure if this is a transitional phase, or the mark of true reveg). Should I wait for their first fan leaves to form? Or go for it?

Hey there Vega , you can treat them as "normal" plants, and top after the 4th or 5th node as you would any other small seedling. I would wait a bit for them to recover though, they dont yet look 100 but you can keep them in veg so, they should pull though ! hope this helps ! 🚀

Roots are doing good on the Monstercrops. Small issue with brown Algae, maintaining bucket temp at 62-67 with ice bottles and added 10ML of Hydroguard. PH in all buckets were about 6.5, reduced to 5.5 and did some light defoliation of dead or dying leaves.

Spent the majority of this week trying to defoliate the "transition" leaves from the Monster Cropped Blue Dreams. One is doing very well, the main stem has split into three and are all branching out well with fan leaves coming into full development. The other Monster Cropped Blue Dream isnt necessarily doing bad, just not growing as strong as the first. Emptied and refilled their reservoirs this week as well as topped off half a gallon each with the original nutrient solution and adding 2 cups of compost tea to all 4 buckets as well, with an additional 10ml of hydroguard. The Black, or White? Widows, who knows since there is always so much debate as to whether or not you can purchase Black Widow Feminized seeds; Are doing very well. They've been topped and am pursuing LST with wire and command hooks. Trying to do a better job of keeping this round short and wide with an even canopy. As you can see with my first grow, who's also the mother of the Monster Cropped clones, the canopy is very uneven and probably wont yield that much. But for a first grow, who can complain. Update: With the Blue Dream Mother I read and noticed it responded very well to Nigrogen Supplements. I've added 1tsp per 5 gallons into the reservoirs for each to see how they respond. But I anticipate no negative side effects considering the mother and dilution.

Not a whole lot going on this week. Did some light trimming and removed the wires. Main stem on all 4 are nice and flat, going to let the girls veg out for a few weeks and just grow up wards. Moved the lights up 16 inches to let them stretch out. I also switched light cycles.. read an article that mentioned a lot of benefits to having 8 hours on and 4 hours off. Specifically I've noticed a lot of benefits ik terms of cooling and environmental control. I havent had to push water bottles into my buckets ar all this week. And it seems to be growing at a normal rate.

Not much going on this week other than some heavy defoliation and topping the widows. Did add 8 cups of compost tea this week that I made from Mykos, Fox Farm Maple Fertilizer and flower girl. I did add 2 gallons of freshwater with 20ML of hydroguard. Going to let it veg out for another two weeks and see how it grows out. Still debating whether or not to put a trellis net up.

Transitioning them into flower these next 2 weeks. Really worried I stunted the widows this week with the heavy defoliation and topping. We'll see what's up. Built a trellis net that I can lower and raise. Hopefully it works out well, but best idea I could think of to train these girls. Especially with how bushy the Blue Dreams are.

Switched over to flower this week, super excited about how my first DWC and Monstercrop are going to turn out. I know I'm only halfway through, but I've learned alot through this community and others that it should be a huge improvement over my first grow. Other than switching the light cycle I did some heavy defoliation. Not a true lollipop but removed alot of excess. I plan on doing a fully lollipop at the end of week 2 when I take clones again. I also added 2 cups of compost tea this week as well. Both of these plants seem to just eat up nitrogen so I added that to the mix. So far have only added 2 gallons of freshwater mixed with some hydroguard and Diamon Nectar. PH was still well balanced at 6.1. I'll be doing a full water and nutrient change tomorrow, just realized today last week didnt publish on time so this post was intended to go up 2.18.19

Oof crazy week. Severely underestimated how much these girls would drink, and also how practical a trellis net was for hydroponic. unfortunately I let them go about 10 days before changing their water, I did add about 2 gallons of fresh water mid week. But you can see in the pics where they started getting droopy. the trellis net made it really difficult to conduct maintenance, as the leaves and tops began growing through the net. I made the decision to cut it down and use yoyos when necessary. I changed their water and added nutrients this past Thursday and had to add 3 gallons of water today. They are definitely drinking it up. with the cold temps my heater kocked on pretty heavy and caused a bit of heat stress to Blue Dream 2. But shes bouncing back nicely. I've since moved the heater and positioned it so it's not blowing directly on any of the plants. Trimmed up the skirts to allow better airflow and let the fan hit some of the thinner stems a bit better to see if it cant sturdy them up. any feedback or discussion is welcome. This is only my second grow and would welcome any constive conversation.

Not a whole lot going on this week from the last other than flowers are starting to form. Blue Dream 1 got a little too cold after a foliar spray, so some of the leaves had to be pruned. probably lost 3 bud sites, but all from the lower canopy. I had kept them with the intent of taking clones, but I'm sure I'll be able to snag a few later. Black Widow 1 is turning out to be a beast. Already stands 4 inches over the other 3 plants. Stems look great on both Black Widows. I'm a little worried about the Blue Dreams, stems arent seeming to get stronger, I did buy YoYos in case of the worst, but am unfortunately waiting on a replacement nitrogen supplement. I'm worried it's not getting what it needs during the stretch and may likely buckle under the weight of the buds if I dont get it some nitrogen soon. But we'll see. All in all another great week.

Oof was a great week till Wednesday night. No clue what happened to my timers but they left the lights on for an extra 6 hours. Unfortunately this caused the tent to heat up quite a bit. In the tent it hit 90, the solution of the buckets hit 83. Blue Dream 1 and 2 had little to no effect along with Black widow 1. Black widow 2 on the other hand suffered. Which is upsetting because this one was doing the best and performance had suprised me the most. She shot up so much she towers about 8 inches over the other plants. The only thing I can think of and have had a few other people agree is that the bucket solution got too hot, decreasing the dissolved oxygen in the water, presenting symptoms like "overwatering". So it didn't get enough oxygen and is now drowning. This morning I had noticed she is doing slightly better. I've verified all timers are working appropriately and have also opened up side vents on the tents so we can get some colder air from my lung room in there. I also added another air pump and two air stones to try and get as much oxygen into the roots as possible. Covered any holes with duct tape to keep light out. I also added some yoyo's to help support the top bud sights that are now very limp. I hope it doesn't die =( We've had some crazy weather here in Michigan over the past few days, 30 degree swings is making it hard to regulate the temperature. Has anyone had any similar experiences and what did you do to remedy them? Any feedback or help would be greatly appreciated.

has anyone successfully recovered a "drowning plant" in DWC? Solution temp went to high and lowered DO in the water. I've added another airstone and pump to push more o2 in. Any other pointers or similar experiences and solutions?

I had a similar thing happen before first thing is to get the temps back down in the system. Then I did the same as you added an extra air-stone. Plus try adding this thing called Hygrozyme it helps break down the dead matter and help the plant in return.and get those beneficials in there asap they might help as well. other than watching the temps and getting extra air the only other thing to maybe consider is pruning and dead root?s I didn't have to when it happen to me but it crossed my mind

Not sure what's going on with the App but it I thought this posted over a week ago. Ugh so hard to remember what happened this week that was different. Honestly the only thing I really did change was adding some molasses to the solution.

Site seems to be super buggy lately, this is the 3rd time trying to post this lol. Or maybe user error. Either way it was a pretty solid week this last one. Girls are doing great, Small nute burn but can go to .75x next week. Still sticking with molasses, and really just maintaining the environment at this point. The widow has been drinking twice as much as the other girls ( 1 gallon a day), so keeping on top of her refilling with RO Ph'd water. Started a new project outside this week so that's taken up most of my time the past few days. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated!

Had a hell of a week with Blue Dream 2. In the previous week I had added some molasses to the nutrient solution, 2 of the 3 plants took very well to it. However Blue Dream 2 got a real bad case of root rot. I ended up having to trim up the roots, and do a hard rinse on them. I flushed a bit with Hydrogen Peroxide and then let it soak in a resevoir with nothing but hydroguard for 36 hours. The other two had a small outbreak, but nothing near Blue Dreams 2. All in all a few days later she has recovered. Thats the biggest reason I added the tomato cages, blue dream 2, with weak stems already (got to find a silica supplement next run) she couldn't hold up the buds. After she recovered I just put the cages around all 3. I want to say 2 more weeks, but am still super green to all this, I'll post pics of the buds and tell me what you guys think. Cheers

Put them to ripen this week and have been checking the trichomes daily. Vast majority are cloudy which is a plus, Ive never been a fan of the couch locked feel, so will probably start them on their flush week. Made a lot of mistakes this grow, and the biggest would be that "im doing too much" too much feeding, too much defoliating etc. I think with future grows, indoors i will stick strictly to synthetic nutrients, the GH Flora series, and honestly just follow the feed schedule. Address issues as they arise, but i think with all my "experimenting", making organic compost teas, adding molasses, trying different bloom boosters etc, i just created more problems than i should have. But still overall happy with progress so far. 1 week flush then another 7 to 10 days drying. Home stretch!

That debate is endless , some peoples are claiming that it changes everythings , some peoples are claiming it is useless. I did it a lot of time and found it useless , so did not notice an improvement of the terpenes profiles or in the trichomes production. The only thing I had from that method was some bud rot due to the high RH during the dark period. Try it to makes your own idea , it's like stem splitting , every growers have a different opinion. But keep in mind that even an sun eclipse doesn't last for 72h so no way you can find that configuration in the nature, I guess it is why we are growing in a controlled environment: to try this kind of experiment

Chopped them today, great coloring so far, really excited to see how they turn out by the end. There weren't any issues this week as it was just a flush and a few days of darkness. I've got to get better at lollipoping and maintaining the skirt in the future. Definitely a lot of wasted energy and nutrients going into flowers that never budded out.

Had a great run with this grow. I learned ALOT about DWC, growing and myself. I think it would have been infinetly more successful if I would have just stuck to the feeding chart, and stopped "fixing things till they broke", but a great learning lesson and I am excited for my next grow.

This plant grew very well. I yielded 7 ounces from just one plant, too bad I killed her sister. Honestly the only trouble I ran into, were the problems I created for myself. I am super excited to take everything I learned from this grow and apply it to my next!~
