I will donate $25 to a charity of choice for the first person who can mention the reference from this grow's title. :)
(Try not to just Google it....Santa will know if you did. =P )
OK, this was not the intent for this tent at first but I had a few germination issues.
1. My original intent was to run three (3) Skunk#1 Autos. Only one took. (Seedling into soil on December 6th)
2. I had two (2) Royal Kush Autos lying around so I popped those....yet again, one didn't make it. =/ (Seedling into soil on December 12th)
3. So...I popped a single (1) Bloody Skunk Auto and those always take....them purple bastards. :) (Seedling into soil on December 22nd)
So here we are. It is not the tent that I expected.....but it's the tent I deserve.
The Royal Kush is digging the transplant.
I topped both the Kush and and the Skunk#1. Being autos that probably be it for topping.
I need to keep a little room in here as I am taking a few clones from a plant in another tent before I switch it over to flower and I might need to hold them in this tent for a little bit.
The Bloody Skunk will get dropped into the pot she has been sitting on within the next few days.
All seems fine.
The Skunk#1 in the back is starting to show. Yes I know, I am going to try and get back there and thin her out a bit. Next week for sure.
Royal Kush is stretching and flowering like a SOB.
Bloody Skunk is growing fine. She looks like her color is fading a bit but she will get her first really good feeding next watering.
So funny how different each strain is. I have trimmed nothing off of the Royal Kush on the left yet you can see right through her, yet the Skunk#1 I thinned and is still bushy. So neat. The Bloody Skunk is really starting to turn purple.
Fine week. Royal Kush is fattening up nice and the bloody skunk is really reaching.
Did some defoliation on the Skunk#1 Auto. Also tried routing the atrophied branch that was against the back of the tent up through the middle to see if I can get it producing.
Holy crap does this tent stink. Did some up close macro shots this week. According to listed grow times, the Royal Kush should be ready for harvest next weekend. Not sure but from the looks of this it might be the weekend after that....which would be pushing very close to just taking the whole tent. The other two should be ready in 2 more, maybe 3 weeks.
Either way this tent is wonderful.
Tried some of those fancy black background shots this week. :)
The end is near. I might chop the Royal Kush this weekend. Most of the trichomes are cloudy and a few amber. Strain lists 8-9 weeks and Sunday will be like 66 days so I think I am good. I will include the best closeups I could muster. I had started giving the Royal Kush only pHed water last week and will do the same for the other two starting tomorrow. They should only have a week, maybe two left themselves.
Some of the photos you will see the Girls Scout Crack clones in the bottom left. They are blowing up and really wishing I would make room by chopping that Kush. =P
As I said, this being an Auto tent, it's the only one I have going right now that is not on 12/12.
These have turned out to be a very fun grow for sure. I will submit the Royal Kush harvest tomorrow if I chop it.
Took her at day 68. This was super easy strain. Pretty fast (68 days) and not very bushy at all with fan and aux leaves. Just really easy to grow, stinky and sticky, not a ton of foliage to manage and plenty fat, especially for an auto. I will update at the end of the week with an initial dry weight.
Very dense buds and she was bushy the whole way through. I defoliated a couple of times and it was still bushy. Great smell and great sturdy little plant. Will update with dry weights and smoke report.
@Fuckitstaken, In that case it made not difference. I ended up with a little over an ounce from each plant on that harvest. I think the Bloody Skunk is so fast that traditional topping does not have time to become all that beneficial. My experience growing 6 of those plants in 3 different grows is that it is ready to harvest at about 65 days from germination. Not a lot of time to "bush out". But as a note, topping was also not detrimental and the plants were half the height of the non-topped while producing the same which is good for stubby 3 foot tents and such. I started following your grow. Good luck!
@Anonytom, Nice. My issue right now is cold. It gets into the 40s°F ambient overnight. I have heating solutions on each tent which helps but it's not perfect. After they reach a certain size it does not seem to be an issue but first breaking through the soil and for the first couple weeks they are slower than other times of year.
@p4tm_CHEF,with your royal kush being a week ahead I'd say there about the right place growth rise struggled with high temps to start with so got a co2 bag to help which seems to have boosted them up again
@p4tm_CHEF, ahhhh nice was just wondering for comparison for my own doing my first auto grow of some ggg3 (gscxgelato) there at day 14 from seed ATM and I think there doing okay just trying gauge how they should be looking as the breeder reckons 7 weeks harvest from seed!
@Anonytom,
The first week here would have been almost 3 weeks actual for the Skunk#1. At that time she probably would have only had pHed tap water since the Ocean Forest soil is plenty rich to start. That first week I would have started giving her a first feeding using the stuff I was using for one of the other tents while still using just water for the Kush (until transplant anyway). So week two here they both got the feed levels shown while the Bloody will only get water until I move her to the three gallon pot. ;) I am so baked right now, I hope that made sense. 😵
@Sweet_Seeds, Thanks Jaypp. I still have a couple ounces from the last BlSkunk harvest a couple months ago but when I had an unexpected opening in the tent, it is what I went for. 😎
