Day 29:
Leaves started dying due to the stress caused by damaging roots in day 23.
Day 32:
Plants seem to be fully recovered now.
Every time I see a White Rhino grow, I think of how much I like the smoke, and then say hmm, I should buy some. One day I will. Anyways, plants are looking great. Can't wait to see more progress later.
@Takeshy Did you change your flowering light configuration? I see you mentioned 5x 320 drivers? I was under the assumption you were using 3x drivers for the 36 strips? Sorry to bombard you with questions, I have many more :-)
Hey there Takeshy, happy New Years! I'd like to say your previous tomo grows have been a real inspiration.. I've always lack either the balls or the funds to plunge into the world of diodes... but thanks to your efforts I'm jumping ship asap! Good luck with this SOG and finishing up the Gorillas π¦...I'm currently doing 4x gorilla skit in rdwc much like yourself bar the awesome bit of kit floating above that beautiful canopy of yours.. keep up the great work Takeshy!
@Takeshy As for the R-Dwc run, I'd suggest getting them into your awesome system much sooner than your previous run. I had mine in the Rwdc system day 12 from seed. Using a top feed dripper to tease the root down into the tanks. No risk of drowning them,as the water is constantly aerated.. you will shave 2-3 if not 4 weeks from that veg time.. in my humble opinion. It really saves on the hassle of hand watering 4"rockwool cubes for weeks potentially over watering/under watering and the potential ph fluctuations involved. All the best with this run, I'm watching with a keen eye
I see 8 reservoirs with 6 per res, so 48 plants! And 48 strips? 6 x 320w drivers... and can I ask what power you are running them at? I guess you've dialled them down somewhat? Regards Bigface
@Takeshy, I removed my last post and send to your chat inbox as I felt it wasn't appropriate here. Nobody wants to read my personal boring questions, as I attempt to leach all the brilliant information you've gathered in your mind! Or maybe they do! :-)
@Takeshy Sorry I'm very talkative tonight, mandarin haze to thank for that! This SOG, maybe just best to not bother topping or manipulating, just allow them to shoot up fast side by side, as uniform as the Korea people's Republic Army. Personally, i would not really veg longer than 3 weeks dependant on space and plant numbers of course. The idea of SOG is short and sweet veg time, uniform canopy to maximise efficiency, so surely this is best suited to clones, not seeds of varying phenotype, height, and flower time? Just a thought, Regards Bigface
@Takeshy, manifold SOG... this should be interesting to watch.... sounds like you should re naming this a TOG 'tsunami of green'... All the best for now
@Takeshy ... What's the square footage here Takeshy? 12ft x 4ft? 15ft x 5ft?
Only the Ganga Gods can decide how much dry yield you got there! It will be interesting to compare results against your gorilla crop π
Surely there's π― + that's what I'm seeing anyway π
@Takeshy, I've just noticed the DWC aspect of this grow, there was me assuming you were to flower in the tiny net pots, handwatered or potentially a top drip feed.. no no, not Takeshy! I like your style man, in 9 years, I've never witnessed a grower in action so intriguing to watch. This is going to be a real treat. So how many plants are you flowering? Looks like you have taken the strongest 30?
Kind regards, Bigface
@Takeshy when you mentioned root damage day 23, was this due to Under-watering/overdrying the rockwool cubes would you say? This seems the obvious one to me. I noticed that you develop yellowing from bottom up around week 3 the past few grows, my suggestion would be to trail a couple with just a touch more e.c in the mix, as i feel your underestimating the need for more nutrition during the transition from seedling to early veg? I know it's all about easing them in and seedling are vulnerable, but the light lime green and yellowing from bottom and slowish growth suggests underfeeding. I can send you a couple photo of my 4x gorilla zkittlez in rdwc very similar to yours at week 2,4 and 6 exactly from seed, mainlined as I appreciate this adds extra veg time, now if only I could match your flower skills, I'll be a very happy man indeed!
@Bigface, The yellowing came from damaged roots. Roots grew really fast and at day 23 I noticed that there was roots spreading to other rockwool cubes making a network of roots underneath.
@Takeshy I'm wondering if you feel this method especially using netpots/claypebbles is rather time consuming and frustration to dial in a nice feed routine? That is, I assume you are top feeding by hand run to waste a couple/few times per day? Are you going to flower in these netpots?
