I'm very excited to get this grow started. This is my 1st time growing Pink Kush. I got these seeds as a freebie I'm just glad 1 popped. I'm going to have a 65 day flower period to accomodate the various strains. I originally was going to grow a grape ape from Canuk but for some reason the seedling came out with some sort of mold. Didn't want to risk the rest of the crop so I culled it. Maybe next time I suppose but my germination rate was very good. I'm still at a 100 percent germination with ethos fingers crossed. I'm primarily looking at Passion Fruit punch being my favorite. I also got a brand new tent to replace my Manhattan with its swiss cheese for light leaks. Fantastic design for Scrogging with side access doors. I might just attempt to Scrog myself next year who knows.
So far aside from a few seeds not popping the germination and early growth phase. Just added a low feed. Nothing fancy not even Cal Mag. But I will be transplanting very soon as you can see some are ready to be in 3 gal Square pots. I would say within the next 2 weeks I should have these little ladies in their final pot size.
So all of the seedlings have been transferred to their final 3 gallon homes. As for the plants themselves they are 23 to 30 days old. The runt of the litter is Pink Kush. For some reason this seedling was very stunted but has seemed to push on through. All the Mandarin Zkittlez have caught up rapidly and are catching up to my Gelato which are chugging along very fast. As for the PFP I tried doing LST on one of the but it just seemed to plop over the plant. I'm going to wait maybe another week to start LST or top. I guess should let the ladies settle in to their new homes.
OK so this is more or less weeks 3 and 4. Sorry for the late update but there really wasn't anything going on during this time. I generally wait about a week to water or feed my plants at this stage. Everything is going according to plan.
The Gelato is dominating in the tent I am amazed at how fast this strain grows. Even when I did my 1st topping of them the nodes just shot right up in a matter of like 12 hours.
As for the PFP it's turning out well. I'm experimenting if topping or LST is a better training method. So far both methods appear to b3 similar only time will tell.
My MZ however I'm almost exclusively topping all of them since my last run the 1 I topped turned out very well. Despite being popped a week prior they have caught up with the rest of the crop which goes to show you the quality that is Ethos.
Last but not least Pink Kush. Umm it's doing OK. It's very small and is growing but at a very slow pace. It was a freebie when I made my last seed purchase so who knows how it was bred. I only put Barneys Farm since it's the best breeder that makes this strain. It is probably from Xotic seeds in Brampton.
My light is now at 60 percent power. So far so good. Maybe another 2 to 3 weeks and ai should finish VEG.
So I decided to liable this week 6 considering some plants are approaching 60 to 53 days. PFP is doing phenomenaly and is stacking up well against its sister MZ. Both strains have taken to training well especially MZ with topping. Gelato is the strain with the most vigorous growth. Bade notes were upped and the cal mag stayed the same. I am very close to flipping these ladies into flower. Be well everyone Christmas is going to be dank this year.
This has been the final week of veg. I calculated the stretch and thought at 24 inches my plants could potentially hit the light. So I decided that 20 inches was enough.
You may have noticed 1 less plant in the mix. I decided to cull the Punk Kush. Which is a shame because I highly enjoyed it back in the day. It didn't even make it to 6 inches let alone 12. There was no lateral side branching and the fan leaves were out of control with only a single top node. Even if I tried to train it none of the other nodes would come out to play. It really wouldn't get enough light anyway. But the seed was a freebie and for the record not Barneys Farm. I suspect it was made by the seed bank fI dealt with.
Moving on the MZ are doing well especially after topping. Plenty of nodes spread out and are healthy. This strain responds better to topping than LST.
The PFP is doing just as well. It responded better to LST than MZ.
The GL has been the tallest and most vigorous of all.
The whole crop is doing well with the canopy being nice and even. I spotted no deficiencies or pests. So along with height restrictions I decided to flip my light cycle 48 hrs ago.
Looking forward to the next 2 months the combination of strains flavors and aromas will be fantastic.
The pictures you see are of day 12 of flower. The stretch is in full swing and I'm glad I flipped when I did because my light is almost at its max height.
All plants seem to be doing well except for 1 slight tip burn on the Gelato. Hairs and slower sites are beginning to show themselves.
As any experienced grower will tell you air flow is key. I have done a strict lollipop and defoliation process over the last 2 weeks. Which is important since I'm having issues with humidity in September :( Been running the dehumidifier all this time to keep it in check. Mostly resting in the upper 50s I've had this new tent of mine spike to 70. Not really good for flower but the season is changing and with that dryer air.
Other than that annoyance it's full speed ahead.
These pictures were taken end of week 2 beginning of 3.
So far so good. Plants are looking a tad faded so I just recently upped the base notes as well as my micro.
Honey Chome was added to the feed. A few more weeks and all I will have to do is flush. I love 8 week strains.
Canopy height is just about 3 feet. It's fairly nice and level which should boad well for my yield. Bud sites are now plentiful and quite large for this stage of growth.
Been having issues wit humidity. It's been spiking to 70 75 when my dehumidifier is off. When on its upper 50s. But October is here and the dryer air seems to be returning.
Only time will tell but I think I'll be fine with the RH KNOCKS ON WOOD.
Garden seems to be doing great. Temps have cooled off in my area. As a result my humidity has gone down a bit. Now it may spike to 65 max instead of 70. With my dehumidifier I can bring her dow below 55 which is perfect for my stage.
I noticed a bit of tip burn on the PFP. But that's a bit normal as I may have upped my base a tad early.
The Gelato is more tip burn but those are pretty much my filler plants, but they look fairly happy. I'm not too concerned it's going to be hard to flush so I might skip a feed in the end with them.
MZ is doing better in my second run of it. It's already starting to smell and I have a feeling it's going to be an absolute banger.
All these pics are from end of week 3.
I apologize about not getting wider shots but I was very fixated on my PFP. I have never seen it purple up so early in flower. I love growing this strain out. I have a feeling this will be a strong batch.
As for the GL they are throwing on frost and are fattening up. Smell profile isn't quiet there yet but it will be.
As for the MZ it's smell profile is now in full swing. The frost is also setting in.
All in all I had a great week and now I only have 1 week left of feeding. I have a great feeling about this harvest and it's going to be a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Ok so we have 6 weeks under our belt. Which means this will be the last post regarding a feeding cycle. As of today I will start flushing for harvest. All the plants have reached their peak potential and it's just a matter of time until the harvest ripens. Granted I will be cutting a few days after 8 weeks but it is only to compensate for the early harvest of Gelato. Which seems to be ripening as well with brown hairs. I'm really excited for this harvest as my last few were a bit lack luster but successful none the less. I have a very even canopy which is considered a good sign especially if your growing from seed. So I will be going dark for a while. I will post some pictures just before harvest as well as the results.
