🌊 Blue Dream & Moby Dick: Powerful Growth in Double Strength 💪
The grow began with great anticipation for these two legendary strains: 420FastBuds Blue Dream and 420FastBuds Moby Dick. Both strains demonstrated strong initial vigor, living up to their reputations.
After planting, the seeds of both Blue Dream and Moby Dick sprouted quickly, with healthy roots emerging after just 32 hours. This rapid germination was a promising sign of the robust growth potential these strains are known for.
At the 44-hour mark, the seedlings were introduced to their first light. Both Blue Dream and Moby Dick responded well, showing strong early development. The stems appeared sturdy, and the initial leaves were vibrant and healthy.
With such a solid start, the grow journey for Blue Dream and Moby Dick is off to an excellent beginning. The fast germination and quick adaptation to light suggest these plants are well on their way to becoming the potent, resilient specimens they are famed for.
The first week of vegetation is now behind us and the 1 liter pots are already well rooted. They will now be repotted in their final pots in the 2nd week.
Everything is still going according to plan and now all the plants will move into their final tent.
The Blue Dream is a good deal slower in growth, but still develops quite well. Otherwise, the plants are not pruned any further before they start flowering.
I am still not happy with the ‘Blue Dream’, it continues to develop but shows burns on the tips of the leaves. The curled leaves are also a mystery to me!
The fertilisation is identical for both plants, the Moby Dick shows none of these symptoms in comparison.
Parallel to this grow, I have another plant that also does not show these symptoms when fertilised.
We'll see how it continues!
I was able to identify the problem why the Bluedream grows so poorly. Some leaves had covered the substrate and mould had developed there.
I removed these leaves, loosened up the substrate and installed another fan. It actually took 7 days for the pot to become noticeably lighter, it was practically standing in water and hardly any air was getting to the roots.
The switch to flowering fertiliser also came too late. So all mistakes on my side that were caused by too much watering.
Nevertheless, they are continuing to develop well and I hope the end result will be reasonably satisfactory.
The growth of the Blue Dream continued to be poor, I still don't know what the problem is. I dug up the plant to rule out root rot. What I could see was that the roots had developed extremely poorly. I don't know what is wrong with the plant, it is being treated 1:1 in the same way as the Moby Dick.
The plants have been defoliated so far and I'm curious to see how things will progress over the next few weeks.
An interesting week comes to an end.
The Blue Dream has put down roots again, but continues to show healthy growth. Despite all this, it has produced flowers and continues to grow.
Moby Dick, on the other hand, is developing extremely well without any defects and I am sure that both plants will eventually produce a usable harvest.
The Blue Dream has recovered somewhat this week. The Moby Dick became more and more yellowish over the week, probably due to magnesium.
I have uploaded some pictures of the leaves, perhaps someone might like to comment on their suspicions, without wanting to influence my guess.
I don't know to what effect this will have on the harvest, but the buds continue to grow.
You can see that the buds have hardly grown any more this week and I am waiting for the trichomes to mature further.
What surprised me, however, was that the Blue Dream recovered very well. Of course it has remained significantly smaller due to the problems, but the buds look promising.
I think the harvest is just around the corner here too. I'll give them another week at most, but I think they'll be ready to be cut down in the next few days.
This was the last week for the plants, they have already been defoliated and are now being harvested.
The Blue Dream is at most a third of the Moby Dick, but it has formed beautiful frosty buds.
I have to say that the result of the Blue Dream was not so good because of myself. I probably watered it too much at the beginning, but I was able to save it.
Very resinous buds, but the many sugar leaves in the flowers are pain in the ass. If that doesn't bother you, this is a top strain.
