First Grow Outdoor / Indoor Purple Punch Autoflower
Grew hybrid style in week 2 because of some bad weather. I put my plants inside my room to protect them from rain and winds.
Indoor grow without a tent for now. To supplement some light for the bad weather I use the Ionboard S22 115W from AC Infinity. Since my grow tent is not here yet, I have no reflection to the side of the plant. Max PPFD that I give is 600 in the top mid section of the plant.
First side branches start to build up.
Have minor leaf issues in this week and I am not sure where they're coming from. Seem like burned tips from too much sunlight exposure. Nutrients should be fine, I only watered the plant 2x with the BioBizz Grow fertilizer. Soil is a mixture of light mix and all mix so nutrients should be enough but not too much or too less in my opinion.
In this week I continued with my hybrid approach because of too strong light outdoors in the sun but not enough light hours overall because of only 14h daylight. My grow tent should arrive soon.
Moved into die 2x2 tent by AC Infinity. It's now an indoor grow.
I am using predatory mites because of a very small thrips infection. That's what you can see on the leafs and the soil. I scattered them with bran as carrier material.
If anyone has any ideas how I can get the leaf rot of older leafs under control, please write me.
Probably always fed too little amounts of water too often. Which means that I literally sunk the pot inside a tub with water to completely hydrate the soil. Hopefully the Leafs are stopping to get brown now.
Now definitely starting so flower. Buds sites are coming.
I flooded the soil with water because I think I did not water enough all the weeks, which lead to dry spots inside the soils, hence the brown spots on the leafs. I am still hopeful to get her through everything. Even tho she had more potential, but it is my first grow so there goes that.
I am on a conference till Friday, so I can't see and water the plants till then. I fed them properly and let some drain at the bottom so that they can feed some water the next days
Frequent watering solved the problem with browning leafs. Also no thrips anymore, they look incredibly nice and healthy now. Looking forward to Friday which will be day 40.
Sailing smoothly. Buds start to get some purple hints, let's see where it goes. Smells kinda skunky. Which is fair because the genetics are Granddaddy Purple x Larry OG x Big Bud x Skunk #1. But no berries or fruitiness what so ever. But it's still early so let's just wait.
This is the day I chop her down so this are the last photos till the harvest section. Was very easy to grow and she is a beautiful plant. Orange hairs, deep purple und sweet smell. Amazing! Can not wait to try her after drying and curing.
Sooooo my first grow came to an end (almost).
The buds are trimmed and ready for cure. I dried the plants for 10 days at 60 % humidity and approx. 22 °C. They smell absolutely amazing and are extremely sticky and full of chunky trichomes.
While I had some problem from mid veg to early flower which was because of my bad watering, everything was pretty easy. Tho I need to admit that I had too many problems for my taste, because this is declared a beginner strain. I know, I made some mistakes, even with a huge amount of pre studying and consuming content about growing, but a beginner strain should not really instantly get problems with slight under watering. I also got thripses additionally to the browning of leafs.
Another mistake was not to properly train the plant. A lot of lower buds are popcorn buds and even the main buds tend to be too "fluffy" and not dense enough despite being almost a pure indica.
But enough of my yapping, I really enjoyed my first grow.
I will update this when I finally taste my product. First try out will be after some curing days.
Update 08/11/24:
So I tried this strain now several times. Both in form of a doobie and in form of vaporisation and I really need to admit that this strains tastes and smells amazing. The earthiness is completely gone after curing. I don't really taste berries but It's definitely fruity and I would say flowery.
When it comes to the effects, I want to share my experiences but with the disclaimer that the endocannabinoid system is very complex, so be aware that you can experience entirely different effects.
For me, the high is very relaxing. You can actually feel it in your chest that the muscles are relaxing. It also gets into your head but in a way that you just want to watch things and relax so it's definitely not a daytime strain when you got things to do.
On top of that, as with most strains that I smoked, I get serious munchies from it. Like really, I just want to eat everything, no matter how healthy or unhealthy. And eating feels absolutely amazing, it's 100x more intense with this strain. All the tastes from food are kinda enhanced. Great strain if you suffer from eating disorder and you need to eat more. Not so good strain when you are on a diet (for example during cutting time, for all the gym bros and sisters here) haha.
That's my 2 cents. Really enjoyed the first grow overall. Great outcome! I really love this new hobby.
Feel free to comment on your experiences!
Have a good one,
Gamfin
