Week 1: My first photoperiod grow. My automatic girls were all so small I felt like maybe I should try my hand at some photos. By the end of the week the first set of leaves became crispy so I elevated the grow light and remembered to dome her to increase humidity. Seemed to work.
BTW-Some of the tags may say Seedsman which is seed bank where I bought the seed from but the seed is actually a Royal Queen Seed (a freebie).
Week 2: She recovered well. Eventually I just clipped those weird burnt leaves off and she shot out new growth and hasn't stopped. I may have had the light too close at first. Now we're just stretching those huge leaves.
Week 3: I re-potted her in a 5 gallon since she seemed to be going through a growth spurt. Oh and she's not drooping, I kind of flattened her top to see her growth and to show that I topped her in the last photo.
Week 4: I've been trimming her here and there and she seems to like it. The more I trim, the more she grows bushy. I have a few more weeks on my autos, so I'm waiting until they're done to flip this gal. She's going to be a monster when I flip her to flower, hehe. After these photos (the other one in Royal Gorilla - will add her diary soon) I think I will take a break and start growing tomatoes, peppers, and hot peppers for the upcoming Spring season.
Week 5: Growing really well. I was torn about making this a "Mother" plant because she looks so healthy and I was afraid I would never grow plants this healthy and big ever again...but I chucked my anxiety aside since I have 2 more of these seeds and figured my odds were good 50/50 that I could germinate one of those two seeds.
Week 6: This week she exploded with growth. Her foliage/fan leaves are large and growing lush. She's beautiful and really well behaved - I feel like I have a prodigy on my hands. Weird thing to say, I know! But that's how I feel. She's growing and responding to everything like a perfect plant.
Since everything is going so well, I figured I'd fudge it up and decided to LST her. She's taking it like a champ! She's really easy to work with. Look at her she's perfect!
So, how long am I going to keep her in Veg? Probably another 2-3 weeks max depending on growth and some more LST torture. Thanks for reading my rant for the week - and no I'm not 😵, hehe, just proud! Happy Growing friends!
Week7: I've flipped her this week to 12/12. By the time she shows some sex and flowers I'm sure the current grow in my tent will be done and I can change my lighting in there rather than having to keeping moving them out for at least 12 hours for dark. She has grown well and is healthy. Happy growing, and thanks for stopping by!
She finally went into the flower cycle - woot! She's stretching now and it's more back and forth from dark to light until the last flowering auto is done.
I've defoliated a little to let the little guys under neath the big foliage get some light. Just waiting for those little guys to stretch up toward the light.
I'm not doing anything special for her, just feeding once a week, watering 2x per week and she's growing happily.
Week 9: I've just been maintaining her by cutting away some large leaves that were blocking the buds underneath, feeding and watering. They're finally in the tent doing their 12/12 flip on the timer. She's loving it and stinking up the place with her sister Royal Gorilla! I have a fan going but you can smell it as soon as you walk through the door! She has a lot of tops and still stretching a bit.
I had to move the light up a bit because they weren't used to the intensity yet but lowering it bit by bit as the flowers mature more.
When I don't feed with bottle nutes, I will add .5 cup of coconut water with cal-mag, when I remember.
Stay Toasty and Happy Growing!
