flowerbudder Week 1: The first Gorilla seed failed to germinate so here is the second one and now I only have 1 freebie seed left. I think I will make this one a Mother plant.

flowerbudder Week 2: The first sets of leaves for me always go wonky. No matter if they're photo or auto (maybe that's why my autos get stunted, that first week - something I'm doing is stunting those poor babies).
I don't know if it's my watering habits or what. After the first set of leaves though, everything is fine by the end of the 2nd week. It's a wonder that my plants survive, lol, and end up healthy, I see so many good folks have continuous issues when their leaves look like mine...

flowerbudder Week 3: I'm going to veg her to be a Mother and take a nice big cutting from her to make a baby. I defoliated a lot but she bounced back. She's in a 3 gallon pot now. I will be moving her up to a 5 gallon in a few weeks.

flowerbudder Week4: Gorilla girl has been topped and I've defoliated here and there, and she's healthy so far. I'm debating if I should LST or not and let her get tall (Christmas tree shape) or if I should try to create that even canopy (which my skill level is low - when I try for that even canopy, one side is always taller than the other sides, lol. Look at my automatics if you want to know what I mean). Maybe I will try for both!
I'm thinking I will make this Royal Gorilla a Mother plant for 1 or 2 cycles and take cuttings from the lower nodes where I would defoliate anyway. So, here goes nothing. To be continued...
Happy growing and thanks for visiting!

flowerbudder Week 5: So Gorilla girl here is also growing like a champ, and her leaves are huge! Her nodes aren't as dense as the Royal Critical but she's a beauty for sure! She's currently in a 3 gallon but will move her to a 5 gallon soon. I finally bought more FFOF soil, and perlite. I think my favorite medium is a mixture of 1/3 soil, 1/3 coco coir, and 1/3 perlite.
As you can see from the photos I am using LST to flatten her out and the top two colas were super cropped. I really hope I didn't hurt her too badly.
Happy Growing, friends!

flowerbudder Week 6: A couple of days into this week, I decide to flip her to 12/12 and she's stretching a bit. Since I only have the one tent with other plants in it, I take them out of the tent and put them in a dark room by themselves for at least 12 hours, then back in the tent in the morning.
{I tried HST on the 2 main stems (after I topped her once), both split open and wasn't healing well after a couple of days so I taped them up and they're doing really well again. They're healthy and since I'm flipping them, no more HST just LST-ing to get a somewhat even canopy.}

flowerbudder Week 7: Sorry a pretty boring week...
Been flipping them for about 10 days now - they should be going into flower really soon! They're doing really well, pretty much growing themselves. I water and feed and stick them in a small basement bathroom for the night and then into the Light for 12 hours.
I read that depending on maturity, the plants can take about two weeks to show sex and go into flower. Here's to hoping for the best 🙏.
Happy Growing to all, and to all a good night!

flowerbudder She's in flower. Really easy to take care of, so can't complain. No issues at all. I like the interesting shape from the top view. I defoliate here and there but for the most part, I leave her alone to grow.
Feed, water, repeat 12/12 in dark unused bathroom then light tent - rinse and repeat.

flowerbudder Week9: I should be adding Big Bud but keep forgetting. I'm getting old or just tired?!
She growing well, not doing much watering every other week, I use coconut water and cal-mag when not watering with the bottle nutes.
She is a little less flexible and a bit more difficult to train than her sister Critical so I didn't LST train her too much. I figure she'll yield just fine!
Stay Toasty and Happy Flowering!
@TheBudWhisperer,
Thanks, really appreciate your commenting.
This RQS set is my first photo period grow and hopefully it works out. Oh and these girls are in flower... of course after freaking out and then my comment and question to you, I noticed this morning they started showing pistils. After I got home from work and it was time to flip again I noticed they're starting to flower. I guess I am doing it right. These plants are amazing!
Happy growing, friend!
