8/15/24- Popped seed into soil 8/18/24- Could see her coming through the soil 8/19/24- Got up this morning, and so was she. Shell still hanging around, but not stuck around the stem or anything. Lookin good. 8/20/24- Seed completely off and true leaves showing. 8/22/24- Silly little thing wanted light so much.. she went almost to it and looks like some stress from it. Notice taco leaves. Moved her away and hope she doesn’t stretch too much I’m extra excited to see how this grow goes. Wasn’t planning to grow this now as I already have plants started, but fuck it.. can’t wait. I LOVE Permanent Marker, and this is off that, so hoping this will be just as amazing .. or even better 🤞😀 I was shocked to see that I couldn’t even find any diaries to get any ideas from. I guess this is the first. No pressure heh.. Scratch and Sniff, also known as “Scratch & Sniff,” “Scratch N Sniff,” or “Scratch’N Sniff,” is an indica dominant hybrid strain (70% indica/30% sativa) created through crossing the potent Animal Mintz X Permanent Marker X G41 strains. One whiff of this delicious bud and you’ll understand where it gets its name. Scratch and Sniff packs a super sweet and savory creamy cheese smell accented by a punch of pungent mint and a touch of lightly sour citrus. The flavor is very similar, with a sweet herbal cheese taste accented by a touch of sharp mint and sour citrus.

08/26/24. Going into week 1 She’s a week old The silly thing has somehow burned her leaves under a tiny watted grow bulb LOL How this is even possible? Beyond me. I always start my little babies under it and have never seen this before. Even so.. I moved her further from it, and then she got taller to go back to it to burn herself. Not too worried. Doesn’t look very nice, but she’ll survive, I’m sure. Gave her a small amount of water the other day, will be watering small amount again today. Not much else going on cu

09/03/24. Going into week 2 She’s 2 weeks old now. As you can see, the burn I told you about last week remains. She seems to be doing okay even so. She’s grown and new leaves look alright. When I moved her away from the light she did stretch a bit. She’s now under the 320w light. It’s currently at 22 inches away on 50%. She’s just been there since yesterday, so hopefully she responds okay to it. I’m finding that my soil seems to be heavy in nitrogen but apparently lacking in everything else. I’m going to transplant her and give her a light dose of food this week and see how that goes.

09/19/24. Actually 4 days shy of 4 weeks but what do weeks mean with this plant LOL. Poor things been pissed since like a few days into life. Light clearly wasn’t the problem. Tried barely having a light on or near it and still continued to basically try to die on itself. Had been thinking this is just a shit seed. Idk. Transplanted it into fresh soil hoping maybe that would help too … To live or die. That’s the question. I’ll keep going if it does. At this point let’s just see what happens? 😹

09/26/24 Did we kill it?? Ah not yet.. Who cares what terrible condition.. let’s top it anyway. No water no food. Won’t drink it anyway. Light at like 50% bout 25 inches up, plants off to side of it, not under. Maybe we die this week?

10/05/24. The things like freaking 7 weeks old and is the size of like idk.. 3 week old plant or something. Did we kill it yet? Nah. Apparently not. Good thing this thing isn’t an auto or this would never have happened. Time has been on this things side. Barely given it water as it hadn’t grown much and drank slowly af. I decided to water it days ago and blast it with a fan. Like not normal.. kill it blast. I also took it out of its tent and just let it sit around on my dresser for while. Then I decided to spray its leaves with silica and calmag water ph 6.5. I sprayed under and over the leaves. Uuumm. I won’t say she’s okay or anything, but she apparently liked all that? LOL She’s grown. Taller. More leaves. They don’t look so bad currently. BUT SHE GREW I will not get all positive. I don’t trust her. Why didn’t I throw her in the bin you ask? Well because I REALLY want this seed to count. I only have 2 more. What if they don’t even germinate. Ahhhh

10/15/24. Week blah blah wtf 8 loooool Sorry, okay I’m done laughing. She’s better-ish. Seems happy currently, well .. as happy as this thing can be. She’s grown more and drank a bit of water, kinda, but soil has stayed moist for ages. Overall she appears to be a healthy color, but these damn leaves keep doing the taco thing and tips like burning and curling, as if it was heat or light stress.. or even nute burn. She’s been under a tiny tiny watted light, a normal light, in warm, in cold. The reaction is always the same. She hasn’t been fed other than the 2 times I’ve mentioned in her whole life, which were very very tiny amounts. The first time she went almost dead, so I didn’t do shit until last update or the one before? Eh. This thing only seems to like foliar. She also has a few red petioles which would say something is off with feeding, but she reacts horribly to any feeding into the soil. What the fuck am I not seeing This thing will forever veg or die I guess

10/25/24. 9 freaking weeks. We should have a giant ass plant by now lol. Tried giving her a bit of food because she was lightening in color. After feeding the tiniest bit and getting run off.. wow idk wtf. The shit coming out was acidic af which didn’t make much sense. Put her pot in the sink and poured cups of water into the soil slowly over about an hours time.. until it was about 6.5. She’s really paling now. As soon as the soils dry enough I’m going to try to VERY lightly feed her again and hope everything doesn’t go nuts again. I took off a bunch of her leaves that were looking really bad and probably were of no service to her. I also put her back into a tent, off to the side of a 100w light, which she seems to be alright with. Not seeing any taco leaves for the first time ever. Still some strangely formed leaves, but I can live with that. I’ve lost any interest in size or yield to do with this girl. At this point I just want to see her healthy and put her into flower to see if she can do anything at all there haha. So yeah. Still alive so we keep on. Oh and I included pictures to show the runoff after trying to lightly feed, and then after the flushing. Insert brain explosion here.

11/01/24 Here we go back into the life of a sickly midget. Weeks? HA we laugh in the face of age! She says it’s just a number.. okay… So uh.. I’ve just decided this one is never going to be very big. We’re just gonna accept that and move on. She grew an inch and a half the past week. Just tried feeding again like 10 minutes ago. Fed her full strength mild vegetation amount which is just 1-1-1 ml each part per gallon. We shall see what happens. I just wanna see a good, or no negative reaction to a feed, and for her to regain a bit of darker green. You can’t tell much from pictures, but with no camera, naked eye irl, she’s so light green she’s borderline yellowing. I think I’ll wait for that to happen, then I’ll transplant her into a bigger pot because I see root showing at bottom holes now. Then I’ll give her a bit to recover because she’s a diva, then I’ll flip her. This is the plan, but if plans went like I wanted, she’d have always been healthy, happy, and already be a couple weeks into flower by now. So, we shall wait and see To be continued…

11/08/24. Week of last veg I think.. The midget grew a few inches this week. She seemed to not freak out from her feeding, which was great. I fed her again a couple days ago and also went fine. She still seems pretty pale. I wanted to have her transplanted by today but her soil is a bit wet. She doesn’t drink very quickly. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to do it. If not, as soon as the soil agrees. So yeah, she’s still alive and chillin. ✌️

11/15/25. First day of first week flower. So the little dwarf is what she is. I’ve tried to make her as happy as I could before flipping. She seems to be doing well with her feedings and she’s actually been drinking her water at a decent pace. She was transplanted a few days back, last week, into about a 4 gallon pot. Her roots were growing out the bottom of her other one. I was actually shocked to see a bunch of nice white roots. They almost looked thicker than her scrawny little “stalk” 😂 I don’t think she really needs as big of a pot as I gave her, but at least she definitely has some room to grow her roots. I don’t see any decent yield amount here, hell.. as spastic as she is, will there be one at all LOL. She’s now about 30 inches away from a 320w and will have a watering tomorrow. No set amount- will water slowly until about 10% runoff. I don’t know why I keep sickly seedlings, or runts. I’m sure showing my fuck ups all the time makes me look like just the best grower ever hahah Oh well. The sad little ones deserve to try too. Right now I have another little plant that didn’t come into the world well, from sprout.. can’t bring myself to toss her either. Ugh. Help me 😆 Anyhow! It’ll be fun to see where this leads. Thanks for lookin & have a good weekend ✌️

11/22/24. Beginning of week 2 flower. It’s Friday so that means another update. We continue on with the little dwarf, who grew 4 whole inches this week 😳. I’m proud of her, and I can definitely say her for sure now.. her first little pistils are showing. Let’s hope she doesn’t also decide to grow some balls lol. Not much else going on really. Her leaves still look a bit funky, but she seems happy enough. She’s drinking a lot more now. She just was watered and fed 2 days ago and she was pretty dry again today, so that’s handled. This is a real change for her as she used to barely drink at all.. like once every week, and sometimes not even that. That’s about it for the old lady. Thanks for lookin & have a good weekend ✌️

11/29/24. Going into week 3 flower Yep I’m a few days behind on the update. The pictures are from the correct day though. I was in rush Friday and forgot to update this one. Didn’t help that the site was also being a pain and I was aggravated. Anyhow, not much excitement anyway. She’s just doing her thing..slowly.. as per usual lol. She getting little bitty puffs. She’s had a more bloom forward feeding yesterday at half the manufacturer recommendation. She’s always been a light eater so we will see how she feels about it. I totally forgot to measure her and she’s sleeping now soooo I’ll try to remember to measure her in the morning and update. She’s drinking every two days and currently it takes half a gallon to get her about 10% run off. Great.. the sites still being an asshole and won’t upload any of my close up pictures..

12/09/24. Week 4 flower. Well the little old lady is turning into a frosty thing, lemme tell ya. It seems she’s focused on frosting and not buds. They have grown a bit but she’s definitely not where you’d expect based on the time. What can I say though.. didn’t really expect her to do much to begin with. Just let a runty, sickly seedling stay alive instead of culling her. I still won’t expect any kind of decent harvest, but it has been fun and rewarding to watch her actually become a happy plant after so much struggling she did for so long. I think I can finally answer the diary title now- she will indeed make it. How well is another story that we will just have to just keep watching. Oh and nothing has changed as far as watering amounts or feedings etc. at this time. Thanks for lookin

12/17/24. Week 5 flower? Lol. Well well well. Diving into the slowest of slow ones here. This lady sure doesn’t seem like she’s going to do much, other than make frosties haha. Was pretty confident that this is how it would go so not surprised at all. She’s grow so slightly that you probably won’t notice a difference. She’s also showing a rapidly progressing nitrogen deficiency. Bottom leaves are yellowing out and fast AND climbing up fast. Typically I wouldn’t worry too much about that at this week of flower BUT she’s been so slow always and seeing as she’s obviously nowhere near maturity at all I’m going to increase her nitrogen a bit in her feeding. If not.. she probably won’t have any leaves for much longer. She’s drinking every 3 days. Takes about 3/4 of a gallon to get about 10% run off. Thanks for lookin ✌️

12/23/24. Jumpin into week 6 flower. So, she gained a little weight this week. I’m actually shocked. I mean there’s still not much there but I’m happy to see a little difference finally. It’s seems like upping that nitrogen a tad is actually doing her some good. I’ve never went up in nitrogen this far in but she really looked to need it. The yellowing that was progressing up seems to have slowed. The leaves that were already pretty yellow are a loss but the pale ones darkened back up. She’s still making frosties and holy shit does she smell now. Has the permanent marker smell but a much more noticeable sweetness to her. Also can’t touch anywhere or you’re coated in sticky. She’s still drinking every 3 days and I’m doing feed every other water Think that catches us up for now. Thanks for lookin and Merry Christmas. 🎄 🎄

12/30/24. Start of week 7 flower. Pretty much no changes since last update. Think we’re going into ripening now. The little frosties are what they are at this point. I’m still pleased with how she’s looking and smelling. Definitely a very very small harvest in store, but I expect it to be delicious regardless. Still going to give a feed today, but it probably will be the last. We’ll see where she’s at going forward.

I assumed on last report it would have probably been her last feeding, but since I realized she had another week or two, I fed her. She’s drinking about 3/4 a gallon every 3 days. I fed her yesterday which NOW I’m pretty sure will be the last lol. She’s starting to show some pretty colors now. Thanks for lookin

01/13/25. Start of week 9 flower. Look at her goooooo. Wellp.. she bout done. Could actually probably already have chopped her but Im having fun watching the colors progress. Most of her trichomes are milky now and I don’t see much amber at all so I don’t think letting her go more will hurt anything. Probably let her go a few more days or something. Just been giving her plain water, not even ph’d or anything, whenever she’s dry. So thanks to all who’ve been watching this girls journey. For those who missed it along the way: She was an unhappy camper basically from sprout. It’s one that most would have pitched. I REALLY wanted to know what this strain was like so I refused to give up. She never got very big, was always sickly, but did eventually get good enough looking to flip into flower at about 11 weeks veg, Ai think. Will the yield be impressive? No, it won’t. That’s alright. I’ve always expected that. However, will it be fucken dank? I’m thinking YES. She’s so sticky, frosty, sweetly stinky, and buds seem pree damn sense that I can tell. I never even expected her to do the damn thing at all. Sooooo I’m happy. If there’s even a couple fat joints here, mission more than accomplished. POS can she make it? I think we have the answer. Damn right she fucken can and has. Based on what I’ve seen from this not great seed.. I definitely wanna grow this again to see if this can be repeated in a healthy, vigorous plant that I can actually train and feed properly. Wew. As always thanks for lookin. Chopped 1/17/25

This lady hung for only about 6 days. She was rather sparse so she dried pretty fast. Had her at about 60/68f. So the lesson to myself here wasn’t in just can a shitty growing plant make it, it becomes .. was/is it worth it? Well for the time specifically I’d say yes it was worth it. The smokes that nice. Even if it’s only an ounce, it’s an ounce of some good shit right? In general though, I’d say it’s probably not worth it though because if the weed sucked it woulda been a full waste lol. Also, with plant counts that some people have, all the time for 1 ounce would probably be frustrating.. again, especially if the end result sucked. I will definitely pop one of these again in the future though to see if we can get a nice healthy plant.. and if not.. well I know I can expect and ounce of good again 😄 But also fuck premium cultivars :)
