Here we are! More about germination method below. Planted at night from Saturday to Sunday, after 48 hours the girls showed themselves on Tuesday morning. Monday I already tried to make it a little easier for them by sprinkling some water on them and moving the substrate a little bit to the sides. They were too shy to show themselves though and I turned the lights and the exhaust fan off, letting them enjoy the darkness, silence and humidity. Tuesday morning the two more confident ladies showed themselves. I knew their sisters can't be so far away! Again I sprinkled some water on them and voila! Here they were, looking excited, almost happy I helped them reach the nurishing rays of my self built Led chandelier! I hope you'll have a wonderful, short but productive life. About the germination method. After filling the pots tightly with substrate, I flush them completely so everything settles and I'll get an even surface. There I gently lay the seed on the top, just press it on a little bit, don't push it in. Then I'll get some more wet substrate and put one complete 1 cm layer on top. The seed is now locked in place and you have complete control over how deep you want it to be. I learned this technique from German YouTuber "guerilla growing". Hasn't failed me a single time so far! I'm new with perlite though and maybe I put about 10% more than I would've liked to. More drainage I guess. I sprinkled some water on the seeds about 3 times a day to make sure it stays nice and moist.

First feeding approximately 12 hours after germination. Initially I learned not to fertilize a few days after germination so the plant grows roots faster because they're looking for minerals and stuff. That was with regular plants like tomatoes. On the package of the t.a it says to fertilize right at the start and I think I want to nourish the plants right away. "Tinytenter" a user on this site, said the coco will absorb a lot of calcium and or magnesium. So Cal mag is a must instantly after germination. The roots will probably get going quickly anyway in my airy, hydroponic simulating substrate, so it should be good to put some nutrients in right away. Btw that's what we're doing here, simulating hydroponics by using a very light and airy substrate, water will drain fast and roots will grow quickly also. There is zero fertilization beforehand, every single milligram is added manually. Because of the good drainage it's important to water the plants at least once per day, maybe more. We will see. First time analyzing and controlling TDS btw. Unfortunately I have no way of controlling the substrate, any thoughts about that? Water is at 1.2 EC after adding all the fertilizers, I was at 0.8 ms/cm after adding Cal mag but didn't know yet that the other fertilizers will add to that. Gonna leave it like that until the 10 L canister is empty. Might be good to saturate the substrate a few days and then giving a little less. We will see ;) Shout-out to tinytenter, I came here through him from YouTube and my Growbox and first grow ist heavily inspired by him! Edit Day 4: Today I had my first little bit of run off water. This means for me I'm watering enough and the substrate is saturated. I'll be careful not to overfeed now, I don't want the hassle of removing water from the pot saucer. I don't mind a little bit of run off every day but not much.

Here we go! Today week 2 started. We encounter our first problems, but don't worry, we'll figure it out! The 2 big leafs of each plant are drooping a bit, also hints of yellowing. After analyzing everything it is very certain who the culprit is - simply too much heat. We had crazy hot summer days for 4 days straight, temperature inside the box was 30-35°C every day, peaking at over 37°. Didn't do damage at first, but now it's visible. The two plants at the back are also CONSIDERABLY smaller, I guess because they got even less airflow (even when I open the box from time to time the air doesn't change up so much in the back) and thus more heat. My ventilation system still isn't installed, had a lot of stuff happening these days but I'll do it this week for sure, I swear mom! After it'll be installed there should be a good airflow even at the very back of the box, removing excess hot, stagnant air. For now I moved the lamp one level up, risking slowing down the grow a little bit but removing a lot of heat. If you're wondering they can't have light stress, I measured it and we are completely in the norm there. Back to topic, I'm not gonna water the guys for 2-3 days, it's a form of LST, don't spoil your kids too much :p it'll force the roots to search for water and reinforce them (I hope). Also if the issues occur from over watering (which I don't assume but you never know 100%) it'll counter that. After those 2-3 days I'll continue with normal fertilizing scheme from terra aquatica which is 1ml/l for early veg. I'll reduce water TDS from 1.2 to 1 since the substrate should be saturated by now. Day 13 Update: yesterday I bend over two of my girls (lol) and today another one, the last one is the smallest and she will be 3-5 days I think until she's ready. Before bending them down I removed the biggest leafs located at they bottom of the plant, but only the one which would be tucked under the plant after bending and thus getting very low amount of light. On the next day they were looking up again so ne Problems here.

Week 3! Everything is as expected, I'm happy with the growth rate, low stress training worked well. Gonna push the nutrients to the recommended max. Also gonna start to water the whole surface of the pot and let some of it run off for a few days so I don't get any salt clots. After a few days I'll also stop watering again for 3 days to prevent root rot and get the roots going some more :) Excited to see how much they'll grow this week, maybe in 1 or 2 weeks I can already top them.

Not much to say here. I worked my ass of at my Job and didn't have much time. Didn't even get to take a photo everyday. Didn't Water for 3-4 day's once. They weren't thankful for that and it seemed like they didn't grow much this time. We don't know what happened under the surface though. Roots may be looking for water more desperately and who knows if it was even beneficial, like I do some watering breaks on purpose now and then to prevent bud rot and help root growth. Next week also wasn't much different.

Didn't happen much just like last week. Watered them sufficiently though and you can see considerable growth again. Still worked my ass of and you know how it is sometimes, wasn't feeling the most optimistic about the grow. This week I was on zamnesia to check the seeds again and there I read it the first time (knowingly)- the plants are supposed to be this small! You know how you doubt yourself maybe a little to often? Yeah it was like that at this grow. I looked too much at master grows, got my expectations too high and honestly got a little demotivated. When I noticed that the girls will go into flower soon I was happy again instantly. Flower this early? "Why are they so small and bushy, what am I doing wrong" turned into "yeah it wasn't just an empty marketing promise, they really will be finished stupid fast!" I meant preflower at end of week 5 is pretty fast in my book. Really excited.

Flower power, here we go! Noticed the first signs of preflower a few days ago. As soon as I had time I screwed the 30 lightbulbs (2700 Kelvin) into my makeshift grow light and wished my girls a happy, warmer sunbath. So far they seem to enjoy the almost orange light. Don't notice any problems like too much light intensity or anything. The heat is so much higher though. I don't think this will work in summertime :/ On day 37 I had lot's of free time so I spent a few hours with the girls. They got a quick manicure so to speak. Topped all four of them. All got defoliated. I did like a soft form of lollipoping. Removed some of the lower branches completely. Don't want the plants to waste energy in branches which won't get enough light and thus won't yield much. Bended the hell out of them, which wasn't easy because they are honestly so small and finicky, but it worked. No accidents and after my experience they will look great in a few days, you will see! So far so good.

Hello hello. We finally found the hopefully last suboptimal parameter for our plants. I reduced the nutrients by 50% of the recommended amount. And finally the leaves stopped turning yellow. It makes sense they need less than the norm because they are much smaller than the norm. From here on I will increase it a little week by week but online 10-20% and watch what happens as they still grow bigger. Again and again I'm impressed as of how small and bushy this strain grows. You wouldn't believe how much leaves I snipp away almost every week. Now they all got the real lollipop treatment. All the branches are clean at the bottom. Even the smaller plants are looking better and better. Already thinking about if I have to harvest them with days between them, but where will I hang the first plants to dry? Don't think It's smart to hang them in the still lit box. We will see.

Alright. Even the smallest plant in the back left was finally bent a little. The usual technique wasn't possible because the branches where so so short, so I had to improvise again. I removed rhe rubber from the tips of a piece of gardening wire so I could pierce it into the substrate. Reducing the nutrient concentration was something I should've done since week 2 or so, when I noticed the very first yellow leaf. Finding the real culprit this late is a testament of my lacking experience. I ask myself how much growth and therefore dry weight I missed in the end by my mistakes? I hope I will be somewhat satisfied by the result in a few weeks. Right now I love looking at the girls (who doesn't like it lol) and I'm happy seeing all those small buds. I just pray that the buds themselves grow much bigger and juicier. Unfortunately I think they will stay small and delicate, all under 1 gram in the end. What do you think?

Buds are growing ok. They smell wonderful when you touch them, but overall the plants don't smell very much imo. They are way too small for my taste tbh. On the bright side we have lots of sticky trichomes. So I think the yield will be very small but I hope the effects will be good.

Nothing much to say these days. Now that it's clear I over fertilized there's not much to do, I don't need to think what could be wrong and watch for differences everyday etc.. They just do their thing. I won't post an every day photo because there is no visible difference anymore. I'll post some other interesting pics like close ups and stuff I think.

So I've been looking at trichomes with a microscope like once a week. They are clear as hell, no real milk, sometimes little amber colored specks. So we have a few weeks to go. Thinking about the logistics and stuff when/if I harvest the big plant first and how much time I give the others. Want to start a new grow and don't over fertilize. I'll be very cautious with the fertilizing scheme next time and be more conservativly when increasing the amount of fertilizer.

This week I made a decision - I'm not gonna wait for milky or even amber trichomes. Also I'm not gonna wait till the other three plants catch up to our main character. Feels like I have to cut my losses. I have 1 qm space and it is probably not even 50% occupied. It was the first grow and the result is what it is. The quality is good, just the quantity sucks ass. We have to start the next grow and get some big boys in there don't you think?

So the "big" girl got flushed nicely. I put her in the shower and watered her for several minutes. From now on she gets only water with an adjusted pH level. Won't do it with the others because it's just too much work for the small yield. All 4 plants get water now til harvest, 2-3 weeks. I'm a scientist myself (🤣) so I also like to compare and see if I can taste the difference of the flushed and non flushed (no chance imo). For this purpose I cut one flower off, dried it for 3 days and blazed it. I wanted to know if I notice a difference before and after flushing. Unfortunately my tolerance is pretty high right now and it was late in the evening when I tried it, so I was already stoned af. It had a nice aroma, not the strongest taste and smell but it wasn't cured. Tbh I don't really remember what it was like haha so I think my science experiment is kinda useless.

I fed to much for the whole veg stage. They still survived. They didn't grow big but they gave me awesome, tasty, juicy buds. If you ask me they pack a punch, not too hard I'd say feels like around 20% thc. Not for beginners but not the strongest you'll smoke. I don't think they are hard to grow and forgive some mistakes. So far I only got positive feedback. It tastes really fruity, it smells so fresh and strong, almost unnatural. It could be a little more potent for my taste but it really is potent enough to get stupid high. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a small fast plant with good results.

I harvested the big girl first. She yielded around 55g of good quality bud and 15g of trim. I sorted it in A B and C buds, B was the most. The other 3 I harvested and trimmed together a week later. I sorted them in A and B buds because there wouldn't have been a difference of B and C. They surprised me with their quality which was almost as good as the first one. They yielded around 72g together and 27g of trim.

Great lamp setup! I do suggest taking out all white plastic from lamps, these just lose efficiency from lamp !

@Psilocubensis, For my next run I removed all domes but the one on the far left and right cornes. I should've also let them on on the two front corners because I measured the light intensity before and after. If the lamps are too far away the domes spread the light to the center. On the other hand, if I get bigger plants and they fill up the Growbox all the way to the sides all domes should be coming off I guess since the leaves will be directly under the light again.

@Psilocubensis, thanks man, much appreciated. I took of the domes of the veg lamps, didn't have enough time to do it for the flower lamps jet. I think I won't do it all in one go because it's too much work lol. Also the the ones which are out the farest will keep it, since the plastic spreads the light better and this way I'll get more light in the center where the action is if you know what I mean haha

I'm open to theories about why the plant in the far left corner is so much smaller. I kinda doubt it's because of ventilation because since a few weeks it has it's "own" vent almost directly pointed at it. I personally think it's a mix of phenotype and stagnant hot air in the first 3 weeks. I'll bend it over soon anyway. Maybe she will take a few days longer to harvest than her sisters but I still think lst bending will be beneficial.
the end.
