Started 2 seeds in water on heat mat until the seeds popped and formed a small bump of a tail. Took about 12 hrs.
Transferred to paper towel method on heat mat until tail grew to about 1 1/2 inches. Took about 12 - 18 hrs.
Transferred both seedlings to a Jiffy
One seedling got stuck in the seed pod but I was able to easily release with tweezers. Noticed the sprout was white and not green.
The seedling that got stuck had discolored cotyledons with about 50/50 light green and white (discarded because it would be severely stunted)
Fix for stunted seedling
Direct sowing 1 new seed in the soil with seedling into an AC Infinity 5 gallon fabric grow bag with living soil (active bottom layer and inert top layer)
- I’m wanting to test out SOG for this, my second grow, with Jack Herer Auto since this strain was recommended by FastBuds for the SOG method. Excited for the grow and learning experience. I tried LST for my first grow but that plant ended up severely stunted from the start so there was not much to shape.
Jack’s thriving at Week 4! Standing tall at about 8-9 inches, she’s got healthy, vibrant growth all around. Loving the steady progress—this one’s growing like a champ! 🌱✨
Jack’s really filling out in Week 5! She’s getting bushier, and the buds are starting to make an appearance. Everything’s smooth sailing—just keeping her happy and healthy. Let’s watch those buds stack up! 🌱💨
Week 6 and Jack Herer is fully into flowering mode, getting bushier by the day. Buds are developing nicely, with good coverage across the plant. The structure is strong, and she’s focusing all her energy on blooming. No issues to report—just steady, healthy growth as the flowers continue to form.
Busy week for Jack Herer! I did some defoliating to thin out the leaves and get more airflow through the canopy—gotta make sure those lower leaves get their light. Also set up the ScrOG netting, so she’s all spread out and ready to make the most of the space. She’s still deep in the flowering phase, and the buds are stacking up nicely. Everything’s on track, and she’s looking solid as we head into the home stretch.
Jack’s really filling out in Week 8! The ScrOG net is doing its job, keeping those branches spread and letting the light hit all the buds evenly. She’s stacking up nicely, with buds getting denser and showing some frost. Defoliation from last week helped keep airflow steady, and she’s looking happy and healthy as she moves through the later flowering stage. Just a bit more time to go—everything’s on track!
Jack’s just about ready! At Week 9, she’s showing around 10% amber trichomes, which means harvest time is right around the corner. Buds are dense and frosty, looking like they’re packed with all the good stuff. Just a few more days to let her finish up, and then it’s time to bring in the scissors. Excited to see how she turns out after all the care and patience!
