Week 4: This one feels like it went by fast. I'm happy with the growth of the plants, they look sturdy. Introduced defoliation, removing the bottom 2 nodes from one plant and only the first leaves on the second plant.
- Light: Increased power to 35 DLI via Photone app on a 18/6 schedule.
- Water: Increased watering significantly. Did a watering schedule of 2-2-3 days between. Started with 500ml and ended 800ml for this week.
- Nutrients: added organic lemon juice to water to bring the pH down to 6.3. Also 1x per week water with: 1) sulfur-free molasses at a rate of 3ml / L. Continued with malt extract at a rate of .3ml/L. Plants seem happy enough.
- Environment: Dehumidifier set at 60.
Keep on truckin'.
@Natrona, Hey! sorry for the late response. I hope it's still helpful.
I've used molasses the last couple grows and I would recommend. Make sure you get de-sulfured cane molasses as this is quite important. It may or may not help with your Frosted Guava however. The idea is that the molasses helps the living organisms in your soil to prosper - so if you are growing in water or using non-organic ferts, it's probably not going to help much. But let me know how it goes!
PS, check out diastatic malt powder. ;)
@TherealNICOGREEN, shiiiit. That's incredibly disappointing. I've been pretty lucky up to this point and I think it has to do with controlling the VPD in the tent. It's not perfect - I estimate my leaf temps for instance - but I think it's close enough to keep the mold at bay. I think you'll be happy with the next batch. I'm a month into their Kabul (also from the contest) and it's quite nice. They seem to have some good genetics. Good luck!
