Week 2: Both plants have survived. 👊 I noticed some odd light staining of the first leaves, which is a similar issue I've had before and you can see it in the photos. Will supplement with CalMag as it looks most like a calcium deficiency (soft water here) or a pH issue (not usually a concern with Bio grows). With that said, I will wait until next week out of an abundance of caution and to see if I can narrow down the issue a bit more. - Light: 70cm above the top of both plants. Increased to 75% power 15 DLI via Photone app on a 18/6 schedule. - Water: Increased to 250ml every other day, per plant. Focused around the base of the stem and about halfway out to the edge of the pot. - Nutrients: Sticking with the Biobizz All-Mix substrate. 1x per week water with: 1) sulfur-free molasses at a rate of 3ml / L and 2) diastatic barley malt powder at 1/3tsp / L. - Environment: Dehumidifier set at 65. Molasses is a common component of organic nutes and the theory is that it helps to promote growth of healthy flora in the soil. Nothing too drastic, unlikely to have a negative impact at this concentration. Diastatic malt powder on the other hand is my baby. I was a professional brewer for 10 years and barley is like my second wife. (We may be separated now, but at times it was steamy [brewing that is] 😏). History aside, the active enzymes in the DMP are the same active ingredient in organic rooting agents, but at a fraction of the price. You can also apply this as a top dressing, but it's hard to beat the smell of this stuff when mixed with water. Yes, I'm strange. Until next week, ya'll.👋 💪

What type and how do you use molasses? It is suggested for my Frosted Guava?

@Natrona, Hey! sorry for the late response. I hope it's still helpful. I've used molasses the last couple grows and I would recommend. Make sure you get de-sulfured cane molasses as this is quite important. It may or may not help with your Frosted Guava however. The idea is that the molasses helps the living organisms in your soil to prosper - so if you are growing in water or using non-organic ferts, it's probably not going to help much. But let me know how it goes! PS, check out diastatic malt powder. ;)

@TherealNICOGREEN, shiiiit. That's incredibly disappointing. I've been pretty lucky up to this point and I think it has to do with controlling the VPD in the tent. It's not perfect - I estimate my leaf temps for instance - but I think it's close enough to keep the mold at bay. I think you'll be happy with the next batch. I'm a month into their Kabul (also from the contest) and it's quite nice. They seem to have some good genetics. Good luck!
