I am growing Frosted Guava Auto and Sunset Sherbet Auto (separate diary). Below I share with you one amazing strain I selected. I'm eager to grow Frosted Guava as it is heady daytime strain, and has an extremely tropical, combining hints of guava, melon, mango, and citrus aroma with subtle fuel undertones.
I will be using organic soil amendments and organic fertilizer.
Happy Frog Amended with earth worm castings, dolomite lime powder, perlite, Elm Dirt Ancient soil. When it phases to flower, I'll top dress with bloom soil also from Elm Dirt. Liquid formulations may also be used.

9/12 Frosted Guava popped soil👍
Originally Frosted Guava#1 germinated soil on 8/30. By day 3 on 9/1 she was showing faint green color in true leafs. I'm only giving water ph 6.5. I had the seedling in a 4in pot in seed starting medium after germinating in paper towel. On 9/3 day-5,once I saw distress in the first true leaves, I suspected ph issues with the seed start medium so I transplanted to happy frog amended soil. (Sunset Sherbet also showing issues
9-4 day 6 no change in growth but leaves are shrinking
9-5 day 7 damage on first leaves is using itself up. And the growth point looks burned. No pics shown.
👉I took out the seed pack from the fridge and let it get to room temperature for 2 days then started a new seed and replaced FG#1.
👉Frosted Guava #2 will be the chosen one for this diary. All pics are of Frosted Guava #2.

FROSTED GUAVA
9/13-21
The transition to my new grow has been chaos. After reading the events of the last week you too will shake your head in disbelief, but honestly friends you can’t make this stuff up.
After germination on 8/30 Sunset was transplanted to her final 3-gallon pot on 9/3 because her early true leaves were brown on the ends which I attribute to the ph of the seed medium. I also cleaned and disinfected the AC Infinity 4X4 for this new grow.
The Frosted Guava that germinated on the same day did not make the transition. I started her replacement seed on 9/8 followed by germination on 9/12. The babies are starting in the 3x3.
Meanwhile, new fans arrived from AC infinity to replace the fans that weren’t working correctly. One fan made clicks when it rotated and the other did not rotate at all. These new models needed a different splitter than what I was using. Ordered that, now wait for the splitter. A splitter from Amazon arrived quickly and I moved the new gals into the 4x4 tent. Since I’m using controller 69, I set the program to seedlings which has high VPD. The following morning, moisture vapor was seeping out of the tent through the zipper as well as the controller port. It was basically raining in the tent with about 1.5 gallons of was on the floor. Clean up on aisle 2. While I was mopping the tent, the lights were flickering on and off. I just knew the electronics were fried. I reported the situation to AC Infinity. Working through each step determined that the lights were not impaired by the moisture. With each step, areas that could have been the issue were eliminated. Aha..The vent motor was burned out. They are sending a replacement. (note: AC Infinity is very responsive and at no charge to me, replaces malfunctioning equipment). My babies are back in the 3x3 until the new vent arrives.
But wait! There’s more! While all the issues with the 4x4 were going on Sunset Sherbet and Frosted Guava were in the 3X3. The day after Frosted Guava germinated soil, I opened the tent only to find hundreds of bugs on the floor clustered in corners and in puddles (drippings from wet towel). I took the pots outside and flushed them with about 3 gallons of well water. Sprayed the tent with diluted vinegar water, wiped up the bugs then wiped the floors, and walls with alcohol and put the gals back in the 3x3 tent. Wait it’s not over yet. 9/17 open the tent with more bugs on the floor. That did it.
Another transplant for both gals into new Happy Frog soil without any amendments. I put a humidifier in the tent until I move them to the 4x4. Autoflower plants do not like transplanting so I hope they have not suffered.
To help alleviate stress, I provided a light feed with Plant juice.

9/22-28
After last week's fiasco with bugs which necessitated transplanting both Frosted Guave and Sunset Sherbet in my Zamnesia garden, Frosted Guava has transitioned well. I've only been giving ph water at 100-200mls. Every 2 days.
9/23 I added a small humidifier to the tent and raised the pots on crates to allow air flow around the entire pot. This will also increase watering demands but I was planning on gradually increasing to 1 ltr every other day.
I'm using a hygrometer to monitor the tent environment as this is a manual process.

Week 4 9/29-10.5
This week I’ve watered with ph 6.2-6.5 a with ppm 410-431. My tap water I have to ph down but by adding recharge and Elm Dirt the ph dropped into the 5Ph range so I had to add some ph up to bring it into the mid 6ph range.
I’ve increased water to 1.5 ltrs ever other day since I topped her last week. She is very robust and recovered from topping, defoliation and LST. She was growing at a slant filling only ¾ but now with additional pinning the new growth, the top is full.
From the pics you can see she filled out the top of the pot.

I’ve been monitoring for any stretch so I would have room to top my plants frosted guava has more space between her nodes than Sunset had as the pics show. I’ve been watching @XII_XII_MrGreen demonstrate the pinch, twist and leave a stub technique for topping. I’ve also been watching @yan402 topping by cutting the tops with scissors also leaving a stub.
10/5 Frosted Guava had a spa , the best spa day a girl could ask for. She got topped, defoliated of covered bud sites and LST pinned down. Due to unsteady hands, I chose to top Sunset Sherbet using scissors. Thank you, Yan and Mr. Green for your thorough demonstrations of training techniques and tolerating my endless questions.

Frosted Guava is showing some nutrient deficiencies even though I’ve been following the recommendation on the Elm Dirt fertilizer. This time I increased both to 6 tbsp/gal. This brought the ppm from 250 to 637. Hopefully this will resolve the deficiencies.

*I made the eggshell water by drying egg shells in the oven, then pulverizing it in the food processor to make powder. Dissolve 1 tbsp egg shell to 1 c vinegar. Soak for 2 weeks. Shake periodically. Dilute 5:1 before using. Can be added to liquid fertilizer or used as a foliar spray. I was expecting the PH of the finished product to be highly acid. It was 7.02 on completion.

I did some defoliation on 10/21 & 26. I LST pinned limbs down to open the top. Several of the copper wire pins were pushed out so I replaced them with garden pins. Frosted Guava is stretching. 10/26 the white pistils are showing as well as pink coloration in the under leaf veins and some striping on the stems.

10/27-11/2 week 8
This week was all about defoliation and LST for Frosted Guava and Sunset Sherbet. Both these Zamnesia strains are similar in that they have numerous small leaves and many, many of them. The data sheet recommends regular maintenance, and defoliation is not a quick task. Speaking of tasks, this grow has been entirely manual in my 3x3 tent. I have to refill the humidifier daily and reduce the lighting periodically because sometimes it gets in the upper 80s and the humidity gets too high for the gals in flower.

Frosted Guava is starting to smell sweet and fruity and her buds are fattening up. Pistis are bright orange with the newer white ones turning inward, pinks and purples are forming in the bud tops. Trichomes are mostly milky but with 20% still clear another week or two is needed before chop. I’ll be keeping an eye on the trichomes.

12/8-14/2024 Harvest week 14
Effect- Frosted Guava is a balanced anytime strain. For me it was relaxing after only a few hits. Body high hits first on the exhale and the mental ease follows soon thereafter. For me the overall effect was happy, giggly and relaxed. It will be good for anytime in social situations or a solo chill session.
Taste and smell- Growing her the smell was sweet and fruity.
With the holidays and everything going on, I waited until fully dried and cured. True to the name, the aroma is tropical fruit. The vape is sweet, fruity and tangy.
Frosted Guava grew in my small 3x3. She demonstrated a strong resistance to mold, bud rot and pests. I switched to an organic nutrient feeding solution and kept trying to get my ppms in the range of synthetic fertilizers. This resulted in overfeeding which burned up her leaves. She would have been pretty based on the colors I see in the buds-pinks, purples and oranges.
Plant structure – Frosted Guava remained short at just 18 inches. This would make her very good for small closet grows. She had many branches off the main stalk and her nodes were tight. There were many, many small leaves, not much bigger than a quarter.
Data sheet advised of regular maintenance. I should have done more trimming so, trimming will be a bit tedious.
Frosted Guava grew without difficulty or issues. Produced a nice outcome. Wet weight 303 and dry 46. 30g bud and 16g trim. I used the trim in cannabutter and made Triple Ginger cookies (which are delicious see recipe diary week 9).

@Natrona, I use 1 tsp per gal ~ depending on your h2o ~ will change the ec slightly ~ I use bottle so everything starts @ zero ~ last couple weeks I go mol h2o and MamP
