I began germinating two seeds on December 24th, 2018. On December 29th the first seed formed a tap-root about 1" long so, I planted it in a prepared 3 gallon fabric bag. The second seed didn't form a large enough tap-root until December 31st, 2018. It also was planted in a prepared 3 gallon fabric bag. According to what little info I could find on this strain, it takes 67 days from start to finish. The only information I could find is located at: https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Hindu_Glue/Space_GenetiX/ While it states the Breeder is Space GenetiX, the package I received says it is from Puff Puff Pass. Truth be told, the Family Lineage tree appears to include every strain known to mankind. I have absolutely no idea what to expect regarding results or even how to properly care for it regarding, watering, feeding, training, etc. I would appreciate any input from others experiences. It appears HINDU KUSH is a Landrace strain. I couldn't find any information on it. The Gorilla Glue #4 contains nearly 100 strains in it's lineage tree. I imagine that is my best starting point for growing information. These are Autoflower & on seedfinder it said the Gorilla Glue #4 is Reversed. Well, that is all I have for this first entry. I can only imagine many surprises during the next 67 days.

There isn't much to say at this point. I have begun feeding with one cap-full of Grow-Big per gallon. I actually have two of these plants but, am just photographing one at this time. The second plant is a bit smaller as it took a few extra days to pop & sprout a tap-root. Both plants are healthy & I will continue feeding at 1/4 strength for another week. Once I am sure both plants have a stable root system, I will then increase nutrients. I want to ensure healthy feeder roots before increasing the nutrients strength. What little info I could find on this cross-strain says it should finish around March 7, 2019

I have begun feeding with one-half tablespoon of Grow-Big per gallon. The last feeding I added a light dose of Cal-Mag. I have two of these plants but, the second plant is a bit smaller. Its structure appears it may be of a different phenotype. Both plants are healthy & I am sure both plants have a stable root system now. What little info I could find on this cross-strain says it should finish around March 7, 2019 The structure of the plant is similar to that of the many Hindu Kush I've seen growing. Very short node interspacing, with healthy branching at each site.

Week Four, still in the Vegetative stage. Both plants entered a growth spurt, each plant is 9.5" tall. Plant One has the name tag, plant two has the green rim on the bag. As I mentioned earlier, plant one sprouted first and plant two was smaller. They have become equal in height during this past week. The internodes on both plants are 2" apart but, I was stressing the branches on plant one by gently pressing them downward and holding them stretched for about 30 seconds each. Day by Day they would remain down for longer periods of time. I did not perform the same LST technique on plant two. As you can see, the branches on plant one are longer and more full than those on plant two. I believe bending the side-branches while they were young and still soft did have a positive effect on their growth. I allowed the soil to dry out between week three into week four. I then only provided 12 ounces of water every other day until yesterday. Yesterday I feed them one tablespoon of Foxfarm Tiger Bloom (2-8-4). During this next week, I will feed them the same except, on a rotating schedule of water then two days later Tiger Bloom. That will be one feeding during week four. Once they begin to show flowers, I plan on a feeding schedule of Tiger Bloom (2-8-4) then water, then Bushdoctor BEMBE' (0-1-3), then water & repeat. Not being familiar with this strain, I don't want to do heavy feedings unless there are indications they can both tolerate it and that it would be beneficial. They appear to be quite healthy and are growing as I would expect. The directions claim they should be ready for harvest on March 7th, from sprout to finish. As for the lighting, I am allowing the plants to grow upwards to the light. Shortening the space between plants and light as they mature. Currently at 18"

Well to my surprise, the FEMINIZED seeds I acquired are not all Females. Once the plants began showing their Sex during week four, plant two turns out to be a male. I'm quite certain I was able to pull it from the grow tent before any pods matured. I wonder if what I previously thought was a variant in phenotype, was, in fact, an indication of the plant being male? I guess growing this one plant will have to suffice this time around.

Week Six - Having removed the second plant which turned out to be a male has allowed me to lower the light a bit so it can concentrate directly on the single plant growing. Plant One, Female, has really stretched during the past week. Growing 10" in hight as well as all the side-branches growing about an equal rate. I am continuing with my watering/feeding schedule as I indicated in previous postings. Every other day, water, fert., water ...... I may spread the side-branches outward by tying them to the floor tent framing. I would like to try using S-hooks so that I may still rotate the plant at 90-degree intervals as I have been doing. I believe the change in where the light strikes the plant assists it in its symmetrical growth pattern. The only worry in doing so at this stage is if the buds become so heavy nearing maturity that they split the branches. If I see symptoms of this, I can tie them back to the main stalk for support. Sorry for the Dull photographs but, there is just so much to show at this stage. Once the plant is in its final stage, I have a micro-camera with which I can take close-up photo's of individual buds & trich's I still wish I knew more about how breeders achieve Feminization of seeds. Even more so, what would be produced if the male may have released any pollen & pollinated this female? The male sacs appeared so quickly & I believe I was able to remove it before any sacs matured & opened. I have noticed what appear to be seed growing along the main stem where each side-branch begins. The flowers are too small & tight to inspect so, they are either false seed pods or I may have missed one pollen sac which opened before I was able to remove the plant from the tent. I guess I will find out upon harvesting. I was told by someone that if two Autoflowers were bred, their offspring would be regular photoperiod plants & not carry the Autoflower gene over to the resultant seeds. If anyone knows more info on that topic, I would appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Just in case the plant did get pollinated, I would know what to expect & how to grow the offspring. Well, that is about all I have for this week.

Week Seven - Everything is running smoothly, no problems with nutrients, no illness of any kind. Seems any growth spurt that was going to occur, happened between weeks 5 and 6. She only grew 3" taller this week so, from this point on all growth should be on Bud size. While not reflected in the chart above, I started the week off with a 3/4 gallon Heavy feeding. Due to LED's and tent temperature, I've gone to a watering/feeding schedule of every third day. Monday night, before lights out, I fed her a 3/4 gallon Heavy feeding. On Thursday night, before lights out, I flushed her with 3/4 gallon pure water. She is sitting in a pan to catch any over-spill and within an hour or so, any excess is soaked up through the bottom of the fabric bag. We will see if that helped or harmed her and then I will adjust as needed. That is all I have for this weeks update. See you next week!

Week Eight - So far, this plant has been one of the easiest to grow. No complication throughout the eight weeks so far. The plant only measured 1" taller but, I'm certain that is only due to the Cola putting on weight. I haven't viewed any buds with a magnifier yet but, I can report that approximately 5% of the pistols are turning orange. Since the info which accompanied the seeds calculated a Harvest date of March 7th, I believe she's right on schedule. I took photo's, both with a flash & without a flash, then selected the best to publish. I hope they are educational. BTW, I am posting this report on Saturday instead of Sunday because she needs a good watering & I wanted to take the photo's prior to watering her. That is all for this week, only 2-3 weeks to go until she's Harvested!

Week Nine, March 3, 2019 - The plant is still growing without any troubles. As mentioned before, the package statement regarding the number of days calculated a Harvest date of March 7, 2019. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that she will be ready on that date, as of right now only about 30% of the pistols have turned color and only about 10-15% of the Trichomes have turned dark. If she continues along this path, I believe she won't be ready for Harvest for another 2-weeks. I may include Mollassas along with the feeding schedule this next week and see if the additional sugars help her mature. Hopefully next week I will be able to include some magnified photos, showing the Trichomes. Other than that, all I can do is wait until She is ready. That's all until next week! UPDATE - Today is March 7th, the day I calculated from the directions according to a 9-week Harvest date. She isn't ready yet so, it is possible it may take 10 or even 11 weeks for her to finish. I gave her a dose of Mollassas with her watering, we'll see if that helps her along. Beginning with Photo 15 I added some new photos I took today to show up close where she is at today. The Cola is beginning to get top-heavy & leaning over. I will need to watch & possibly tie her upright if she goes into the 11th week. I hope you enjoy the new pics!

Has anyone ever heard of a strain that gets stuck on Cloudy Trichs? I'm just a few days past the proposed harvest date yet, 1 & 1/2 weeks ago I noticed 10% Trichs turned amber but, all the rest seem stuck on cloudy. 95% of the pistols have turned red, fan leaves are dying/dead

hey R_Owl , yeah I even had one that stayed stuck on cloudy trichs lol, really frustrating, but I'll tell you something, it's actually a good thing. Cloudy means the triches are filled with THC so 100% cloudy means that it's 100% max THC potency. amber trichs means they oxidised and produce CBN or CBD even which is not necessarily a bad thing, depends on taste. So when mine was all cloudy i left it a few more weeks then took it down, and after the cure it ended up being one of the stronger strains i harvested. Different strains rippen differently, maybe you just got one of the stronger phenos, so don't worry look at it like it's a good thing.

Week Ten - Everything is going well, no deficiencies, mold, bugs. I gave her a good dose of Mollassas, hoping the sugars would help her finish up. The Trichs percentage hasn't changed, except that those which are not amber are 100% cloudy. I trimmed off all the large fan leaves so the light would read every bud, leaving none under shade. There weren't many since those near the bottom have already died off. About one handful if you balled them up. So at this point, it's just a waiting game until I feel she's ready for Harvest. The directions on the packaging said 9-10 weeks but, she might go 11-12 weeks until she is really ready for Harvesting. It's times like these where it takes patience. I do enjoy growing these Autoflowers but, I must remember the same rules still apply when it comes to the timing of the harvest. It's not as simple as trusting the directions regarding how many weeks they need before harvest time. Nothing worse than spending all this time growing a plant, only to harvest a week or two early. Well, that's it for this week!

Week Eleven - Last Wednesday I flushed the container by slowly pouring two gallons of Distilled water, discarding the run-off. I haven't watered her since then and she feels like 90% of the water have evaporated/dissipated. After having done that, it seems the main stalk became flexible because the main Cola began falling over due to the weight. I had to tie her upright by using some dried stems and bread wire ties connected to the sides of the tent corners. The Trichomes have begun turning amber and are around 30% today. I took the photos today and plan on Harvesting her around Wednesday of this week. I appreciate all the input offered last week, thank you to everyone! I do have one question if anyone would care to answer. You can see the plant, I plan on just cutting her at ground level and hanging her to begin the curing process. Given the number of leaves and where they are located, is it advisable to leave them on the drying plant or to trim them now while she is hanging? I get differing opinions on that issue. Some say to trim everything while others say to allow the leaves to wrap around the buds. Which is suppose to slow down the evaporation within the buds. I have tried both ways but, I still don't know what is the proper way. Well, that is it for this week! I should be posting a Harvest next week, although the final photos might take a few weeks to get posted since there are more steps that happen in just one week.

This initial report is being posted at the time of cutting & hanging, I'm unable to comment on a smoke report. It was by far the easiest plant I have grown in 30 years. Absolutely no problems occurred throughout the entire grow. I just started growing Autoflower strains & the previous two strains did need attention to nutrients & PH. I'm unsure if I have just been lucky or the amount of Lighting I supply has allowed all my Autoflowers to grow above 32" and produce a few ounces of dried/cured buds. I've noticed other Autoflower growers who didn't fare as well and the one constant was the amount of lighting. I'm also very cautious with feeding nutrients while I've noticed others with a dozen or so nutrient products being used. They all seem to have problems with a nutrient burn so, perhaps that is something to consider? I will be updating this diary entry throughout the drying & curing process. Then I will be able to provide a smoke report.

To begin, I do not own a weight scale to measure the Wet weight or Dry weight so, I am unable to fill out those entries. Also, I am unable at this time to provide the flavor, potency since she was just cut & hung to dry. I will be updating this diary as those steps are completed. For now, all I am able to provide are some photos of the plant as she is hung up to begin drying. If I were to hazard a guess, I believe I should end up with at least a few ounces of smokable buds. I will be updating with new photos at each stage. Only then will I have a better estimate of the outcome. Today is March 21, 2019, so, in a few days, I should be able to show the cut & trimmed buds. In a few weeks, I will post up the final cured Buds and a smoke report. Until then, thanks for following along during this grow. Oh BTW, the last photo is of seeds which formed at the base of the Buds. There might be more inside the buds but, I don't expect there to be many more. As I mentioned in week 4, I found the second 'Feminized' plants turned out to be a true male. I thought I was able to remove him in time where no pollen sacs had opened yet but, obviously one had spilled it's pollen without my noticing. Should be interesting to see what these seeds produce. I only found one breeder which was providing these Autoflower 'Feminized' Hindu Glue & it is no longer available. These seeds may be the only ones left of this strain. Come to think of it, there may be a valid reason it's no longer available, at least not as 'feminized' seeds. UPDATE: After 3 days of hanging inside the tent with a small fan blowing, I checked the buds & since they are fluffy they were drying too quickly so I trimmed them off the stalks & placed them inside the jars. I filled two 16 ounce wide-mouth canning jars, one with the large buds & the other with the popcorn buds. I have added 5 new photos, one in a 12" bowl, the others are showing the jars & some closeup shots of the buds. They are extremely frosty! I can't quite put my finger on how to describe the smell. Sort of a mixture of Pine & Fruit. UPDATE - 7 day cure/taste test. It has been 3 days hanging in a dark tent, 4 days in mason jars. It could be due to only hanging for 3 days/4 jar & even with 3x burping/airing the buds are still spongy. I cut up a bud & let it sit for 15-20 minutes before rolling a joint. I then let the joint sit for about 4 hours before lighting it up. The smoke was very light, almost equal to a vaporizer (which I normally use), the flavors are as close as I could select, as described above. I took 4 nice puffs after lighting it up just before I began this Update and as I'm typing now it's getting harder to concentrate & type. It's still wintering here in Montana & we've had a few spring-like days & right now all I would like to do it lay-out on a lawn chair in the yard ;>} Definitely not a strain I would take Hiking up in the mountains unless you're sitting on the peak & only need to go downwards. As for the entry: "Up to 3 negative effects". Neither of the 4 selections is noticeable so, I left that section blank. I posted about 1 dozen photos of a few buds in their current state towards being cured. I will complete this diary with a final cured Harvest as the looks, flavor & effect will be most accurate for a harvest report. Until then...! UPDATE 03/29/19 Added new Photos of Buds which spent 7 days in jars. FINAL UPDATE April 4, 2019 I believe the buds have cured to a point where they are ready for steady use. They have definitely tightened up into some really nice firm buds. I ended up with one loosely packed 16 oz. wide-mouth jar of large buds and one densely packed 16oz. wide-mouth jar of popcorn buds. While I still don't have a scale with which I can provide an accurate weight, I would guess there are about 3 ounces from the one plant now that most of the moisture has evaporated. Quite enough to last me a good long while. I have two other jars, one each of different strains so, I don't imagine I will be growing any more for a while. In fact, I think I will be storing my tents and lights for the summer. I do have plenty of (auto) seeds so, I will probably select a few spots and plant some outdoors. I will probably germinate them & after two weeks, plant them directly in the ground. If I do, I will start another diary for them depending on how well they do. Probably around mid-June, I can safely plant them outdoors for a mid-September Harvest. Well, it's been fun! Until next time, take care.
