Excited for my first indoor grow!
Germination went well.
Mephisto's Wedding Auto only took about 2 days.
The Medusa F1 failed her first germination, but I tried again directly after. (Other diary)
(PS: I'm counting the actual days from when she popped out of the ground. I'm not counting the germination week. Day 1 is directly after they popped)
Week 1 of my first indoor grow! Not much happening, just basic Week 1 things.
First serrated leaves appeared almost instantly after germination. Everything looks healthy and grows nicely.
Started to see a fungus gnat in my tent. I put up some glue traps and a day later I saw a few of them stuck to it. I hope it isn't going to be a problem in the future.
But till now it looks fine!
Week 2 of my first indoor grow! Just now I have started to make some more pictures, as I decided to create a grow diary.
Mephisto's Wedding looking really strong and healthy, no problems at all. Comparing it to other diaries, she's on track to becoming a great lady.
No extra nutrients till now, but I will start when she reaches day 10-12. I planned to perform LST in Week 3 as she should be strong enough to handle it by then!
Update Week 2:
Today I gave the first nutrients while watering. Looking back on their growth, I probably should have begun sooner. I wasn't quite sure when to begin, as there is no real indication if the plant "needs" it in the nutrient enriched soil. But hey, I'm here to learn and get a feeling for what the plants need.
Week 3 of Veg!
Mephisto's Wedding is booming and grows exponentially more every day. On Day 17 I put some ground anchors in the soil to stretch her out and support the lower nodes with more light.
As she was planted quite low in the pot, I'm gonna have to let her grow in height a bit, to reach over the edge of the pot.
Also, I started to perform some minor LST at day 18/19. I didn't want to overdo it. Maybe my next grow will include some "heavier" LST.
Update Week 3:
My leaves are a bit droopy and I asked via the grow-questions page. Due to this awesome community I now know why-
So apparently I did some bad research and was watering my plants wrong the whole time. I heard that you should start at around 100ml of water, increase it every week and only water around the plants, not directly on them. But I'm WRONG.
I apparently should have watered until some of it pours out of the bottom and should have watered all around the pot, not just a "ring" of water around the plant. After each watering I should wait until its dry and repeat. Guess I have a lot to learn but I'm here for it. I have adapted this method of watering from now on and will try to get a feeling for the weight of the pots before and after watering.
Week 4 for my ladies!
I'm adjusting the LST every other day to give the lower branches more light to grow. Also, I hung the light a bit higher to encourage vertical growth, which she desperately need.
Mephisto's Wedding is performing beautiful. Waiting for her to stretch up. She is a bit bushy indeed, but has some beautiful branches growing to expand the canopy.
Week 5 and she is beginning to flower! Saw some small pistol hairs down in the canopy. I gave her some LST to loosen up that bushy canopy. I'm really excited for the stretch!!
Because she is flowering, I'm adding Bio-Bloom and Top-Max to the nutrient plan.
Update Week 5:
I believe I am wrong. I thought she was going into flower but what I saw were just some pre-flower pistol hairs. She is showing no signs of flowering on the top-bud sites. Maybe she's just not ready to stop veg just yet. I dunno, works out for me.
Forgot to make a picture on D35 due to personal reasons. Also defoliated her on D36.
Wow, Week 6 for her and I finally see some pistol hairs coming out of the main branches. She is finally going into flower. She waited long enough!
However she slowed down the growth in the last week, probably preparation for the hormonal change during flower! Very happy.
I performed a final defoliation on day 42 to help her through flower and support the lower branches. Also, I stretched her out with some LST.
Week 7 is here! And she's beginning to stretch!
I have high hopes for the taste and smell of this strain. I know, her yield may be underwhelming in the end, due to her current size, but this lady is only for quality, not quantity!
Update Week 7:
I switched the light schedule from 18/6 to 20/4 and added a 1-hour sunrise/sunset. Overall I saw better growth during 20/4 but tried to compensate the missing 2 hours of darkness with a slow sunrise/sunset.
Week 8 is here!
So far, so good. Nothing really interesting happened this far. She's growing good but is still the smallest one overall. Just a bit disappointed but whatever.
She started to show deficiencies, so I increased the nutrients in my feeding water by around 2. I hope this helps her to recover.
My short queen is reaching week 9!
Although she is the shortest and most compact of all of my plants, she is producing trichomes heavily! Just within a week, she produced a huge amount of trichomes compared to the other two! She is frosty AF!!!
I can already tell she came to the party for quality and not quantity. Still, she is pretty hungry and needs watering around every 3-4 days to not make her dry out.
Also did some defoliation to increase light penetration for main bud sites.
Week 10 hyyypee!
She is doing good and I'm removing a few leaves everyday, because they get too big and cover bud-sites. Anyways, I'm feeding her about every 4-5 days and she's happy with that schedule.
If she's happy, I'm happy too!
Week 11!!
Looked at her trichomes under a microscope; a lot of milky but also a lot of clear. No amber trichomes so far, so I'm giving her about 2-3 more weeks before harvest.
She was a slow-burner during end of veg and beginning of flower. That's probably why she's so late to trichomes production?
Anyways, doing good. I adjusted the LST just a bit, to give the lower bud-sites more light, which they needed HEAVILY! But I didn't notice until now :(
Update Week 11:
I forgot to post some pictures for around 3 days. However I did make some photos every evening. So I just logged them all today.
Anyways still standing strong. Interestingly I've noticed that she's consuming a sizeable amount of more water than my other 2 plants. Nothing drastic, however the soil is drying out a LOT quicker. The top layer of soil is almost bone-dry apposed to my other 2 plants which are still soaking wet and heavy.
That's why I'm tightening her watering schedule to every 4 days.
Week 12 and she's still standing strong.
The buds are starting to thicken-up and her terps are getting louder every day. Really smooth grow so far. Just her size is a bit disappointing.
Still, Quality over Quantity!
Already week 13? Man... feels like I've planted them yesterday
Anyways, she is doing great. Buds are getting very sticky and starting to smell. However, still no amber trichomes?! It's about 80% milky and 20% clear which surprised me a lot for her age. But I'm not complaining!
On day 90 I'm starting the flush and harvesting around day 95-100. She's small, but I'm sure she's packing a punch!!
Update Week 13:
Ohhhhh, it's coming! First amber trichomes spotted on day 87. I think day 95 is optimal for harvesting!
I put her in the dark on day 90, I heard it's beneficial for the end-result, let's see!
