Soaked in water for 12 hours on a heating mat until the seed popped
Transferred to paper towel method for 12 to 18 hours and on a heating mat and the seed had an inch and a half long tail
Directed in a 5 gallon pot
Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted all of the previous weeks photos 😩
This was my first grow. Obviously, she’s a little stunted 😆
Here are some of my lessons learned:
- Transplanting: I started my growing journey from seeds and moved them into a jiffy, then into a solo cup, and finally transplanted them into a 5-gallon pot. Looking back, I think I might have overcomplicated things for my first grow, and it ended up affecting the root system.
- Feeding: Follow the manufacturers feeding schedule. I over-fertilized in the second week and I thought I was being conservative with what I added.
- Light Height: Follow the manufacturers light height hanging recommendations based on the stage of growth you are in.

This was my first grow and it was so much fun. I definitely learned a lot along the way and ready for the next grow.
First smoke after drying is incredibly smooth, with no chemical aftertaste or hay smell. It starts with a hint of citrus and finishes with a gassy kick, which I’m sure will develop into more fruity notes as the terpenes cure. The effects are immediate—calming the mind while making the body feel lighter and relaxed. Perfect for winding down. I’m excited to see how the flavors and effects deepen after a good cure!
That’s a wrap! My Purple Banana Punch Auto has officially crossed the finish line after drying, and the aroma is bananas (pun intended)! I’m excited to see how it matures after a good cure. Also, I was really impressed with the HerbsNow dryer! It handled the batch perfectly in 52 hours, and the carbon filter kept things scent-free until it was opened. Onward to the cure and enjoying the final product!
Hey, just thought i would stop in and say nice work on your first grow. And your runt turned out a lot like mine. Dont be discouraged by its size. You will probably never grow another plant that small again. 😆
@MysteryInc, for my first time using it, I really liked it. I followed the manufacturer recommendations and dried the buds until the smaller branches snapped, and the larger branches were easily bent. After drying, I immediately put them in and grove bags to cure. Right out of the dryer, I did not notice any hay smell and after testing a bud-did not notice any harshness. I would definitely recommend the Herbs Now dryer.
I also opted for the charcoal filter, and if smell is a concern for you, I would highly recommend it. I did not notice any smell when it was running with the charcoal filter, but it was definitely loud when you took the lid and filter off to look at the bud
