I watched an interview with the owner of Fastbuds and he said that autos want deeper soil instead of wide soil. So I am going to put that to the test as well as I can I have a 15 gallon fabric pot with a 7 gallon fabric pot with the bottom cut out of it so the roots could grow through it stacked on top of it. Since I don't have any large diameter bags that are short, I'm going to fill a 7 gal bag about 6" deep and see if that will work for a wider, shallow bed. The control will be in an average sized 5 gallon bag. 9-7-24: started soaking these three lovely seeds 9-8-24: put them into a paper towel 9-9-24: All three popped! Yay! Putting them in rapid rooters 9-10-24, Day 1: today I will be putting them into their final homes, and hopefully my two experiments run well! 9-11-24, Day 2: today I just made sure the soil was moist, especially the biggun. That's gonna be a bitch to keep hydrated.. 9-14-24, Day 4: Today I harvested 3 decent sized autos, and moved 2 into the flower room so I cleared out a bit of space, so they got moved to a place that's better for them for light and air flow, and the controllers probes are closer to them. I can't wait until the "22 gallon" pot is big... Genetics and room to grow it could be huge. 9-16-24, Day 6: They are doing good! Gonna start giving them 350ppm bites today. They are looking hungry! 9-17-34, Day 7: This brings an end to week 1, and they are doing very well. Depth of the substrate hasn't seemed to have had an impact on growth.

Day 8, 9-18-24: they're seeming to shoot up rather quickly and that's wonderful! I can't wait Day 10, 9-20-24: They are starting to look like they're supposed to instead of babies! I got them level with each other so the ppfd should be more uniform. It's rained a couple of days this week so the humidity jumped some, but mostly everything is good Day 11, 9-21-24: they are doing amazing. They are starting to spread out nicely! Day 12, 9-22-24: They are really doing well! I had time to set up the camera this morning before work. That's a 4th gen purple star killer clone next to it. Day 13, 9-23-24: they keep getting noticeably bigger! Day 14, 9-24-24: they're growing nicely and starting to branch out. They have also grown pretty thick

Day 15, 9-25-24: They are starting to bush out nicely. So far, the growth is pretty uniform and they are staying even. Day 16, 9-26-24: They are doing great after the 1st feeding of silica. They are starting to bush out nicely!! Day 17, 9-27-24: Today I noticed some leaf curling on #1 and starting on #2. I raised the light and will check on it as we go. Otherwise, looking great! Day 18, 9-28-24: They have really bulked up! They've gotten a little taller, but most of the growth has been out. They are looking great! I raised the light up and the edges that has started to bend up in an odd way. The curled part is still there, but no advancement. Day 19, 9-29-24: They are booming! There is starting to be a size difference between them, and they're just as you'd expect. Lookin good fastbuds guy with the cool accent! Day 20, 9-30-24: They are getting big and thick. Keep on getting big ladies! Day 21, 10-1-24: They are bulking up so nicely! Good genetics and good VPD does the ladies good! My Cal mag went bad about a week and a half ago and I don't know how I didn't catch it but I did not. So all of my plants have been showing a slight calmag deficiency. They're starting to come back nicely though. I'm going to have to defoliate soon.

Day 22, 10-2-24: I did some trimming on them today for the first time! They needed some soil added, and I clipped the first 2 nodes and got them looking good! Day 23, 10-3-24: They are absolutely amazing. So vigorous... Great genetics... One of the few genetics companies I've gotten 100% ratios on popping seeds. These ladies are going to be some fine looking ones.. The bigger pot is definitely larger, but oddly, the six inches of soil is bigger than the control five gallon. Didn't expect that but it is what it is 🤷 Day 24, 10-4-24: The leaves on 1 and 2, and it has to be heat. I lifted the aglex 240 w about 6 inches this morning, the lights were reading good, and it doesn't feel hot under the light at their level, so IDK why they are curling. Day 25, 10-5-24: They are continuing to grow steady and robust. They are all generally the same again, and they feel good and flexible. Going to start lst'ing soon. Day 26, 10-6-24: I did some training on #1 and 2. 3, the control, is, lacking. Both more and less soil is doing better than the 5 gal.. 🤷 Life's a garden, dig it? Day 27, 10-7-24: I finally got my room moved around and got my 400 w Aglex in there and I have them at 17 inches from the light at 50% for around a 600ish par. Day 28, 10-8-24: They are growing like crazy! All except the control. #1 and 2 are doing great and are ready to be trained out more. #3 is slowly growing and it's just creeping along...

Day 29, 10-9-24: They are growing great. #1 and 2 are 14 inches tall with #3 coming in at 11 1/2 inches. It's crazy that the control is the small one. Really odd. Day 30, 10-9-24: They are growing crazy good. I'm adding soil with a lot of mycorrhiza and the roots keep growing up through the soil. Day 31, 10-10-24: Im gonna do some tying down tomorrow. They're getting really busy. Day 32, 10-11-24: Didn't get to trim yet, and that's a shame bc I'm seeing some slight humidity issues. Day 33, 10-12-24: I got 1 retied down. They are starting to go into flower, so today they just got pHed water and tomorrow I'll start the preflower nutes. Day 34, 10-13-24: They took the trimming well, but I think it might have been a little too much. Don't smoke and trim lol Day 35, 10-14-24: They are better. Gonna do 3 today. Odd how from the top it doesn't look like I did anything.

Day 36, 10-15-24: They are coming back nicely from there trim up and training. They are growing ridiculously fast. One and two are now around the 18ish inch mark Day 37, 10-16-24: Today, I just tied them down a little bit more and made sure everything looked good. Day 38, 10-17-24: They are eating up this training. They're doing so well and they're starting to go into flower now so I guess this week will be the first preflower week because I've started feeding them preflower nutes. He's going to be huge! Day 39, 10-18-24: They are flipping into flower now. #2, 3, and 1, in that order. Did some light defoliation. Day 40, 10-19-24: The roots are growing so well they're popping out of the top. Gonna add a little more soil to the bags. I also forgot to take a picture of number two Day 41, 10-20-24: They are just exploding... As expected, #1 is the biggest and least in flower, #2 is oddly almost as big as 1, but it started flowering first which was expected.#3 is the littlest one. Day 42, 10-21-24: The root growth is starting to concern me. I can't add much more, but the roots keep growing out of the soil... Ethos, hats off for the amazing genetics! #1 has 0 stress, the big fan leaf stems are starting to to show some purplish coloring but they're getting cut today. #2 and #3 have some purple in the stem, but it's odd, I've touched 2 and 3 very little but the one most touched is so green and lush.

Day 43, 10-22-24: They are some big, thirsty ladies... I'm gonna have to adjust the ties, but other than that, we're starting out week 7 strong! Day 44, 10-23-24: Im starting to show a slight calmag deficiency. I'm gonna hit them with 600 ppm calmag juice and pull them back to normal. Day 45, 10-24-24: The calmag issue is being taken care of. I added a 750 ppm calmag solution, and I can already tell a difference. One more dose will get it. Day 46, 10-25-24: The calmag issue seems to be clearing up nicely. After tonight's dose they should be good I believe. I'm not going to make such a high PPM tonight. Got two and three tied down a little bit better and trimmed up. Day 47, 10-26-24: They are growing nicely. #1 has roots through all of the soil, 7 and 15 gal. They are starting to balance out height wise. 1 is the biggest, 3 is second, with 2 coming in shortest. Day 48, 10-27-24: roots are growing like crazy out of number one, and the rest are growing well. Day 49, 10-28-24: The end of week 7, and #1 is 3 feet tall lol. Good genetics...

Day 50, 10-29-24: Week 8 starts out with a ton of new growth, some more light training by moving the toes around. Day 51, 10-30-24: They are getting so tall, and with the Cal mag situation fixed, they're really going at it. Day 52, 10-31-24: I forgot to get a picture of number two top today. But it's a holiday so have fun everybody! Day 53, 11-1-24: They are booming! Day 54, 11-2-24: Sorry, nothing more than They're growing! Day 55, 11-3-24: Its starting to get into my birthday/holiday season. It's gonna get sporadic but I'll take pics daily and upload as I can. Day 56, 11-4-24: Preparty started, and got watered this morning. #1 is up to 1.5 gal of nutes.

Day 57, 11-5-24: Preparty in full swing. They got pH nutrient water mixed correctly, that's about all I remember though. Day 58, 11-6-83: Birthday, don't remember much. I had pHed a gallon of water for each and that's what they got. Day 59, 11-7-24: They got watered late in the day, but they are rocking out. Yay 41...😐 Day 60, 11-8-24: They are growing very well! #1 seems to be slower to bud up, but it's probably something to do with it being twice the size of the other 2. Two months Woohoo Day 61, 11-9-24: They're getting sooooo frosty!! Day 62, 11-10-24: Wow... Day 63, 11-11-24: They are going nuts for being day 63...

Day 64, 11-12-24: They are beautiful! I am going to enter one of my tri pics in the November pic of the month. 1st competition entered! They smell exactly like peaches now. Fresh out of the orchard smell. Day 65, 11-13-24: They are sooo beautiful. And they smell on point. I am having some issues though. #1 has gotten so tall that the top light (aglex 400w) is at 25%, and 2 150w mars, a groplanner 150w, and an aglex 250w all at 100%, because the top is burning. Any suggestions? Day 66, 11-14-24: So sticky it caught a gnat lol. As far as the experiment goes, it ended how I expected, yet got there in an odd way. Number one grew is expected, number two grew more than expected but balanced out, and number 3 through smaller than I had expected. Day 67, 11-15-24: They're growing well, and the trichomes are just sooo pretty! Day 68, 11-16-24: They're starting to thicken up nicely! Day 69, 11-17-24: I defoliated them today. They were getting really bushy so I removed quite a few fan leaves to allow secondary lighting to be more effective. Day 70, 11-18-24: well the end of week 10 shows some amazing looking plants. My tests seem to have worked somewhat lol.

Day 71, 11-19-24: #3 is starting to look done. I need to get some trichome shots tomorrow. I was hoping for a bit longer so they would bulk up, but as smallest, it makes sense it would be the first to go. #1 will be last, but #2 will give it a run for its money! Day 72, 11-20-24: They have really started to amber on #3, some on #1 and #2. Day 73, 11-21-24: #3 is really starting to amber. I'm taking a branch off of it, the lowest half node, and checking it out thoroughly. Day 74, 11-22-24: So, I ended up taking the bottom 2 nodes. In the past, with autos, I've let the bottom branches mature somewhat then harvest them and let the rest of the groth focus on the main stem and it seemed to have work fairly nice. I've gotten some buds that are 18 to 24 inches in length by doing this that were fairly girthy. So I went ahead and took those two off thinking it'll help the bigger ones. I think I'm going to start the flush tomorrow. Day 75, 11-23-24: Im putting a round of just pH'ed water with a 800ppm potassium sulfate mixture. I moved the lights around a bit to adjust for growth and movement. Found a mushroom! Day 76, 11-24-24: I decided not to completely cut them off cold turkey. I'm going to wean down the nutrients until I'm just using potassium sulfate. Day 77, 11-25-24: The end of week 11! Woohoo! I've dropped the ppm to about 650 from 950ish. I'm going to be cutting back on them over the next few days and probably Wednesday or Thursday. The trichomes aren't there yet.

She's beautiful when she's hanging lol Day 80, 11-28-24: They were amber! I cut them down, and now they're drying. I'll be back to do the harvest week after it's dried/weighed

It was a great grow. The experiment didn't end as expected. #1 out grew them all and out yielded everything. #2 grew as fast as #1, but the 6" of soil stopped it short. #3 was slow going the whole time. It was 2" shorter, about 3" less diameter, but just as pretty. I really love Ethos genetics. Id recommend them to everyone. I expected #1 to grow the longest, go in flower last, and be the most yield. #2 I expected to grow the slowest, have the least yield, and be the first done. It grew on par with #1 even with the 6" of soil compared to 29". #3 was my control. A typical 5 gallon bag, and I grew it just as a common, every day grower would.
