1. I really, really, really like Christmas! I have a new QB and a new 4x4 grow tent. I thought the best way to kick off the New Year was to grow 4 autos in my new set up.
2. I started the seed in a glass of filtered water for 24 hrs. The seed had split and you could see the tap root that night.
3. AH was transferred to a moist paper towel and put in a warm room. I checked daily to see the tap root development.
4. AH was germinated and planted after a total of 3 days.
5. She broke the surface after 2 days. This is day 3.
6. I've only grown 1 auto before, and I did an okay job. Since then I've learned that autos like to be left alone, so I won't be doing any real training. I'll defoliate a bit to keep the budsites open, and I'll do some LST on the main top to open it up a bit, but otherwise its hands off.
1. She is the tallest girl in the tent! It must be the light.
2. I am watering at a rate of: 1l every 3rd day. I will increase that to 2l as the plant develops. AH is currently receiving full strength doses of Recharge.
3. I usually begin feeding my plants once the 1st set of fan leaves are fully developed. I will use the schedule: Feed+Feed+Recharge. I'll begin with .25 strength, then increase to .5 strength. Depending on the plant's response, I'll kick it up to 100% within the next 2-3 weeks.
1. She is certainly the giant of the bunch! Not only is this the largest of the 4 autos that I have in the tent, but she has developed secondary branching development at a faster, more robust rate. This is certainly a hardy strain so far!
2. AH received 2 feedings of 25% Strength Sensei Grow A+B in 1l of water this week. Next week I will increase the dosage to 50%. I will monitor her response to determine when to start feeding at 100%.
3. AH also received a weekly dose of full strength Recharge, but in 2l of water. Soon the root system and plant development will demand 2l of water each watering/feeding, but for now I just wanted to saturate the soil with Recharge.
4. AH might start flowering in the next week. I've noticed a few pre-flowering pistils. I was hoping for a 5 week veg at least, but oh well.
1. AH was the first of the 4 autos to really show true flowers. I almost switched the Diary to flower last week.
2. She has barely stretched so far. I was expecting a plant about 1m in height, but AH is fun-sized. There has been great secondary growth. The development is a lot faster than photos that I've grown.
3. I've switched to flowering nutes and I've increase the amount of filtered water I use. I will be using Sensei Bloom A+B (75% Strength) and Bud Candy (50% Strength) for the next 2 feedings. Then I will feed at full strength. Filtered water has been increased from 1l to 2l. Recharge Dosage and feeding schedule will remain the same.
4. I turned down the heater and exhaust fans in both the grow tents. The room where I have the tents was starting to get really muggy.
1. 2nd full week of flowering and she has changed quite a bit! First of all, she has almost doubled in size. That has really opened up the budsites. Secondly, her leaves have really taken on Sativa characteristics. They are long and narrow.
2. Buds are filling in nicely. I've done a bit of defoliation towards the bottom to get rid of some of the popcorn buds.
3. She received flowering nutes this week at 50% strength. Next week I will increase that to 75% for 2 feedings. They are currently receiving 2l of filtered water every 3 days. I feed twice in a row then use Recharge in between the 2 feedings.
1. AH is turning into a little bud bush! She has grown a few inches, but I don't expect much more vertical growth. Overall she is very round with buds everywhere! As long as those buds fill out properly, she is going to look fantastic in about a month.
2. I've increased flowering nutes to 75% strength. I'll do 1 more feeding at this strength, do a feeding of Recharge, then increase the strength to 100%.
1. She is cruising right along! Buds are developing nicely. She has an interesting smell. It should intensify as she matures.
2. I've had some cal/mag issues. I provided a picture. I added some Demeter's Destiny. So far I've just added it once, but I might start adding it more often. It's hard to start changing nutes so late in the game. This plant can't have more than 4 weeks or so left. These autos sure do finish fast.
3. I am at full strength flowering nutes. I add Bid Bud to the mixture this week. I have 2 weeks of Bud Candy left then I'll switch to Overdrive for the last 2 weeks before flush. I hope I have 6 weeks left including flush!!!
1. All is well. She is finishing nicely. I'm hoping she goes another 3-4 weeks. She's looking like she is almost ready though. I don't think the buds are finished maturing. From what I've read Haze strains add most of their bulk at the very end. We shall see.
2. This was the last week for full strength flowering nutes.
3. The next 2 rounds of feeding will omit Bud Candy and Big Bud. I will also reduce the % of Sensei Bloom. I will continue using Demeter's Destiny for Calcium, and I will include Overdrive to help finish bud development. That should be 2 weeks. I'll flush for a week or so after that prior to harvest.
1. She is just packing it on these days. Buds are swelling and maturing. I can see the difference in a week.
2. This will be the final round of nutrient feedings. I've reduced Sensei Bloom and Bud Candy. I've stopped using Big Bud. I've started using Overdrive. I gave the last feeding of Recharge today.
3. This week I will reduce Sensei Bloom and Bud Candy again and use Overdrive instead of Big Bud. This will be the plan for the next 2 feedings. After that I will flush, wait for her to dry out a bit then feed with filtered water and Flawless Finish for 2 feedings. I'll check trichomes and general overall flower maturity to determine whether a 2nd week of flushing is required.
4. I'm hoping she will make it to about 12 weeks, but I'm prepared for 11.
1. Almost there! She is easily the stankiest plant in the tent! She is fading like Lebron.😱
2. I'm only adding Flawless Finish to my waterings. I'll do that for the next week. The final week I will probably flush once or twice before putting them in darkness.
3. Pictures are a little washed out, but she really is straw-colored strain. I'm not sure if that is right, but....
as Bulbi would say, "That's the way the genetics crumble."
1. She is about ready for harvest! I took her out of the tent for a final flush and photos. Buds are thick and heavy. I'm surprised that I haven't had to support some of these branches.
2. Trichomes are milky for the most part. I thought I detected a few amber trichs a few days ago, but I couldn't find them today. I'll probably water 1 more time with 2l of plain water later in the week. Once she has dried out, I'll put her in the dark for 3 days then harvest.
1. AH got the chop today. She had a final flushing last weekend. I left her in the tent for a few days to dry out a little then I put her in a dark room for 3 days to help the trichomes develop and to dry her out prior to cutting her down.
2. There are before and after pictures of the plant and main bud. I thought you'd like to see if there was any difference to the appearance of the plant after 3 days dark. I didn't notice anything. She was extremely sticky when I was cutting her down, but she's been sticky for awhile!
2. I believe I let AH go a might too long. I noticed a couple of hermies when I was trimming fan leaves. Hermies developing this late in flowering usually indicates a plant that should've been chopped earlier.
3. I kept her going because I was looking for amber trichomes, which never appeared. I even checked with my loupe after 3 days dark. I didn't notice much difference.
4. I noticed that she was very branchy when I was cutting her down. There are a lot small to medium sized buds all over the plant. The main buds are nice-sized and rock hard.
5. She weighed in at 437g. That gives me +/- 2.5 oz.! This grow has certainly given me the best yields I've ever had.
6. I'll be back with final harvest numbers, pictures, and observations next week. My plants usually take between 5-7 days to dry enough for trimming and jarring.
Great grow! Fantastic genetics from Seedsman. Without any training. or topping she gave me just over 3 ounces. Buds are sticky and dense. This was the perfect little grow.
I've smoked a few tester buds, a bit of kief, and of course all of the scissor hash from trimming! The flavor is bright and citrusy.
First hits resulted in a swoony type of headrush. Then the high set in and I was a trimming madman! This is a pretty energetic strain. It didn't get my heart racing or anything, but I noticed that I was really motivated to get things done around the house.
1. This was an easy plant to grow. She grew fast and robust. I noticed flowers forming by as early as 4 weeks. She was done at 12. I might've been able to harvest a week earlier, but I didn't notice anything amiss while harvesting.
2. She was very, very sticky. I ended up with several little balls of scissor hash that I smoke while trimming. Needless to say, it was a wasted day afterwards!
3. She had a lot of branching. This made trimming long and tedious, but the buds were very dense, even from lower in the canopy.
4. I might defol some of the lower branches when I grow this strain again. However, it was a great grow, and I would have no problem growing this strain again real soon.32950
INCREDIBLE!! What else can I say. Great work. I'm growing one of these myself and hope I can pull in something half as beautiful as this. Again, great work.
@Quexos, agreed. Consistancy is key. And small changes help determine if the changes are helping or hurting. Removing all avenues for human error is key personally to growing. Letting mother nature take its course without too much of my interference.
@Denzul, I like to reduce the number of variables in a grow if I can. Once a system is in place, you can tweak it by changing one of the variables. If you change too many things at once, you don't know what caused your grow to improve...or not.
@ChainsawSanta, She is developing nicely. The plant that is really impressive is the Dark Devil! She is really stacking on the buds. This plant looks like its going to have a lot of roundish buds.
@ChainsawSanta, I think I have at least 6 weeks left. I'm thinking 12 weeks from seed to harvest might work out this time. If she isn't ready though, I'll go longer.
I'm a year late with my comment, but as a new grower I wanted to thank you for the detailed grow journal, especially how you explained the changes as she grew, and the detailed info on how you feed. That info is so helpful to us newbies (I'm currently 29 days into my first grow. A trial by fire with 8 plants in 3 gallon pots plus two fun runs in 1 gal pots.)
And wow, what a beautiful plant and huge harvest. Us newbies day dream about a plant like yours.
Nice work!
@GroguGrows83, Thank you for the kind words. WoW! You have a lot going for a first run. I was stressed out growing 1 plant in the beginning. Good luck!
WOW!!! 😵😵😵 Those nugs look amazing! The pictures have me very excited about my upcoming harvest of this same strain! My very first plant! I'll be happy if it comes even close to your yield. AMAZING! 😁
Congratulations! She's looking ripe and ready!
I can practically smell it from here! 😋
This strain really improves with some cure time. The pungency mellows a little bit and it turns super orange!
@Silverback_Guerilla, Thanks! I can barely smell her since there are 3 other strains in the tent. I'm happy that she kept her orange color. My other 2 autos went purple. I expected the Dark Devil, but the Royal Creamatic was a surprise. I will have a lot of purple bud in the near future.
She gets the dark room tomorrow/ I'll probably due the initial harvest Thursday or Friday.
@ArucambaAutoflowers297, Thanks! I'm a little concerned about the leaves, but they are just fading. I've never had a plant fade on me before. I've seeen lots of pictures though. I'll start trimming some of them off soon.
The Overdrive I'm adding this next round of feedings is supposed to bulk up the buds. I'd like to see that!😎
She's looking great...bushing up nicely without sacrificing any height! She'll take a little longer than mine, but she's gonna make some nice colas...👍
@Silverback_Guerilla, She is a few weeks younger than your Haze plants. I'm having some cal/mag issues. I've been noticing some spotting on the leaves. I thought about just ignoring it since this plant is probably 3 weeks or so from harvest and its going to fade out anyway. I did some reading and found out a little cal/mag never hurt anybody so I hit her up with some Demeter's Destiny.
I noticed that your colas are a lot thicker than my grow. My leaves and buds look more Sativa-ish.
Great results! I'm about to start this strain here soon. It'll be my first auto. Knowing that autos can be sensitive to LST, did you do any LST and when did you stop?
@@richrich,I didn't LST this strain on this grow, but I've grown numerous autos that I've topped and done some pretty serious LST. I would start training as soon as possible. Some strains I just pulled down the main stalk. Other strains I topped and did a mainline type of LST. I've had great results either way. However, since this is your first auto, I might suggest you let this one grow normally so you can get the feel of how of how autos develop.
I'm super excited by your diary here of the AH by Seedsman. I did a small .5 gal go last run and was impressed so I popped one in a 3gal and she is INSANE!!! I think we have very similar phenos by the looks of them, my lady is crazy leggy especially after my accidental breaking of her main cola while doing some LST. She recovered from that so quickly and it just forced all the surrounding branches to go insane!!!
