Hey, this is my second Grow and first diary. I decided to share this journey with you. I am already some Weeks into the grow so the first weeks maybe lack some footage.
Actually i wanted to do a photoperiodic plant again but it turned out that way. Its a single Apple Fritter Automatic by RQS.
02.09.24: Seed into a glass of water, room temperature and darkness.

Because of a short vacation, I couldn't water the plant adequately. Unfortunately, it was a bit underwatered when I returned.

08.10.24: 2500 ml, Some more LST. Bend the four side branches more to the side and leveled the two tops.

Why is the pH of the runoff so much higher than the pH of the irrigation water? Is the runoff or the irrigation water more important to consider?

The pH lowering effect seems to vanish in the fertilizer solution after one to two days
It's just cause what you put in. Gets mixed at the end
Like your input has a set ppm..as the plant eats. It changes the makeup of out put therefore giving a different ph.
It's that simple.
When and how do you switch from Canna Vega to Canna Flores? Feel free to share any tips. What are your "signals"?
Do you suggest a hard switch like in the Canna schedule, or do you prefer transitioning by mixing the fertilizers?

I wouldn't mix the two. I would just go ahead and start feeding the bloom mix as you are in flower now. By the time you would see signals it would mean you are already defficent s you dont want to do that. i would just follow the directions the best you can and you should be good to go. Did the last big training with lollipopping, more defoliation, and more LST to bring the plant into its "final" form.
To be honest, I am kind of glad with how it has worked out so far, especially since it's my first time topping and doing LST, and also my first time growing an autoflowering plant. Now, let's pray for many evenly sized top buds🙏
I also noticed that the plant becomes very thirsty. It's going for 3L a day soon, probably.

Stretch is slowing down. Buds are getting larger. I'm looking for the right time to apply PK 13/14. It will probably happen during Week 4 of flowering.
Can't wait to see the buds fill out. Hopefully, all the top buds will grow together into big, even, solid colas.
I may defoliate some fan leaves soon to get more light to the buds.

By what visual indicators do you determine the ideal timing for giving a week of PK13/14? The stretch seems mostly complete, the buds are thickening daily, and the first trichomes are appearing on the sugar leaves. Should I start now or wait a few more days?

Dr. Bruce did a study on this and has concluded that this industry in general is giving way too much Phosphorus during the life of the plant. However, he did say that during the first weeks of flower to roughly the sixth week, extra phosphorous has helped increase yield.
Just be careful as I have seen so many people ruin the plant using too much PK boost.

Starting to apply PK 13/14 for one week, following the recommended CANNA fertilizer schedule.
Buds are widening, the aroma is becoming more intense, and I've also experimented with a DSLR for some more detailed photos.
A few leaves are showing slight clawing at the edges, which is an early sign of over-fertilization.
Currently, it doesn’t seem to be an issue. With PK 13/14 added this week, the EC peak in fertilization is reached, which should be fine but will need close monitoring.
I’m considering another light defoliation but haven’t decided yet. Relative humidity is well-controlled at around 45%. Above the canopy, I swapped my stationary fan for an oscillating fan and placed the stationary fan on the ground under the canopy to improve airflow throughout the tent.

Midweek, stop using PK 13/14. The buds are becoming broader, denser, and gradually heavier. Slowly begin to reduce fertilization as well.

What are the pros and cons of flushing plants pre-harvest?
Do you believe flushing significantly impacts the taste of the final product?
Do you personally flush your plants, and if so, what is your specific flushing routine?

I agree with a lot of the posts below, Flushing is a myth.
Its not going to leach anything out of the plant but it will leach out of the soil and plants can't make something from nothing.
Let them use up the left over nutrients in the pot, don't give them more last 2 weeks of life, but also don't dump gallons of water on them to "flush" the medium out.
A nice good tasting weed will happen in the slow drying process and slower curing process.
In short don't do it. Its dumb and broscience.
The buds are packing on the weight and the trichome production is ramping up.
The plant is starting to show some beautiful color changes, with hints of purple emerging.
The runoff EC is still pretty high and I've noticed some burn marks on the leaves, so I've turned down the nutrients a bit after last week's EC peak.
I'll probably be switching to just pH-adjusted water soon.
The scent is very strong now and smells deliciously fruity.

The plant is ripening slowly but steadily. I’m only giving it clear, pH-adjusted water now, with a little Cannazym and Cannaboost—no main nutrients anymore.
The idea is to let it start using up its internal reserves.
The trichomes are mostly clear to milky, so it still needs a bit more time to finish up.
You can already see some autumn colors coming through, with a nice touch of purple that’s starting to show.

This is the final update before harvest. The plant is gradually drawing nutrients from its leaves, resulting in increasingly autumnal colors,
mostly yellow, with some purple spots on the leaves and flowers.
The watering volume has also been reduced to slightly dry out the plant. This helps break down nutrients and chlorophyll in the leaves, improving the final flavor.
It’s fascinating to observe how the buds dry and ripen at different rates.
Initially, I was somewhat concerned about the possibility of encountering botrytis, as I did during my first grow. However, I’ve maintained a consistent relative humidity of around 40% during this late flowering phase. The drier buds, whose leaves are now very yellow and dry, reassure me that everything is proceeding as it should.
Most of the trichomes are cloudy, with a few amber ones appearing here and there. Some buds are fully developed, while others still have a mix of clear and cloudy trichomes.
I plan to wait a bit longer until nearly all the trichomes have turned fully cloudy.

For harvesting, I cut the stem and dried the entire plant in the tent for 13-16 days at approximately 50% RH and 18°C, with gentle indirect airflow. Afterward, I removed the dried individual buds from the branches and trimmed them finely. Finally, I stored them in airtight glass jars with 62% Boveda packs. I will burp them everyday for two weeks.
Unfortunately, despite maintaining controlled RH levels during the flowering phase around 40%-45%, I had to discard some buds due to mold.
Very impressive root development.
I am very satisfied with my second grow. It was much more efficient compared to my first attempt. Despite using only one plant and shortening the vegetative phase by a month, I achieved a higher yield than with three plants during my first grow.
Another major improvement was drying the buds under optimal conditions. Unlike my first grow, where summer temperatures occasionally reached 30°C, this time I dried them in a controlled environment. The difference is remarkable—the properly dried buds are noticeably more resinous and flavorful.
It was also rewarding to experiment with topping as a training method. Combined with LST, this approach worked so well that I plan to continue using it.
