Hey everyone! I'm starting my first grow, so any tips or feedback are more than welcome.
For my debut run, I decided to go with Cinderella Jack Auto from Dutch Passion. The high THC content had me hooked right away. I know there are strains with even crazier THC levels out there, but I wanted to grow something I’ve personally tried before and loved — the effect was just unreal! I’m hoping I can recreate that same level of high with my own harvest.
I’m germinating the seeds using the good old tried-and-true method — between two damp paper towels. One of the seeds showed its taproot after 4 days, and I transplanted it into soil on day 6.
I’m working with an 80x80x160 cm grow tent, where I’ve got two seeds popped, each sitting in a 10L fabric pot. I’m hoping there’s enough room for their roots to spread out and really reach their full potential.
Light setup: Spider Farmer SF1000, 100W. Right now, it’s covering both plants, but by week three, I’ll be adding another SF1000, so each girl will have her own dedicated light. I want to make sure they’re getting the maximum amount of light for strong growth.
As for the medium and nutes, I’m using BioBizz products — Light-Mix soil and their full line of nutrients. I decided to go the organic route to give my plants the most natural environment possible, aiming for a clean, tasty final product.
Super excited to see how this journey turns out! It’s my first time, so I’ll do my best to avoid mistakes, but we’ll see how it goes. Good luck to everyone starting their grow alongside me!
The plant is growing very slowly. Unfortunately, when the seedling shed its shell, I had to leave the city for six days. So, I gave it 500 ml of water around the entire perimeter of the pot to make sure it wouldn’t go thirsty while I was away.
Another week has flown by, and the plant is looking stronger and healthier.
Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to the second plant that was sharing the grow tent. Now, the entire 80x80 space belongs solely to my one and only Cinderella.
This week, I only watered once on day 8, but I haven’t added any nutrients yet. I also topped up the soil, covering it almost up to the cotyledon leaves.
Since all my equipment is set up in the basement and the cold weather has arrived, the temperature in the grow tent has dropped, especially when the lights are off. To fix this, I installed a temperature controller that activates a heater. Now, the temperature stays between 23.5-24.5°C with the lights on, and 18.5-19.5°C when they’re off.
Next week, I plan to start adding a small amount of nutrients.
Wishing everyone a great day and good luck with your grows!
This week marked the start of nutrient feeding.
On the first day of the week, I added 1/4 dose of Root-Juice during watering. Midweek, when I sprayed the plant with a mist sprayer, I added 1/4 dose of Acti-Vera. At the end of the week, I gave the plant 1/2 dose of Root-Juice, 1/4 Acti-Vera, and 1/4 Bio-Heaven. The plant is gaining mass more rapidly now and looks really good. It's currently 8.5 cm tall.
On the last day of the week, I removed the first two leaves to help the plant focus on growing new shoots.
Midweek, I adjusted the light to 60% power, keeping the height at 50 cm above the plant. Next week, the second light will arrive, which I’ll use during the pre-flower stage.
So far, everything is going well, and I’m excited to see what happens in the coming weeks!
Four weeks have passed since sprouting. Honestly, I’m not too thrilled with the plant’s size at Day 28 — it’s looking a bit smaller than I’d like. But I think the slow start shifted its cycle a bit. Since it hasn’t shown its sex yet, it probably won’t start flowering next week. This means it still has time to bulk up.
I kicked off the week with some training, starting light LST. I’ve also been trimming a few leaves that block light to lower nodes.
Next time, I’ll definitely go with a bigger pot, aiming for 25 liters.
This week, I watered twice, on Day 4 and Day 7. For the first watering, I added Root-Juice at the recommended dose. I used half doses of Akti-Vera and BioHeaven at the start, then went full strength for the second watering. I also introduced 1/4 dose of BioGrow on the second round. The plant seems to be responding well to the nutrients.
As for lighting, I’ve set the lamp to 80% power during the day. I didn’t mention it before, but I also set the light at 30% an hour before lights-off and an hour after lights-on, creating a gradual transition to mimic natural sunrise and sunset. Next week, I’ll add a second light and plan to start with 140 watts during the day.
I think next week will likely be the last one in veg, and then the plant should start flowering.
Day 30 brought good news — she’s a girl!
This week, I watered twice with 750 ml each time. Because of the heater in the tent, the air stays pretty dry, with humidity levels ranging from 40% to 65%. I’m following the nutrient schedule by the book and currently on week two. By the end of next week, I’ll be introducing bloom nutrients, which should give her a boost as she transitions.
I’ve continued with LST to keep the canopy even and pruned a few leaves that were shading lower growth. This week, I also removed one of the original branches to allow for better airflow and light penetration.
I decided to hold off on using the second light for now, as the current one covers her needs well. I plan to add the second light once she starts spreading out more.
Excited to see her progress and hoping this next phase brings out her full potential. Wishing everyone a successful week with their grows!
Week 6 marks the end of the vegetative stage, and our beauty has officially moved into pre-flowering! She’s starting to form her first buds, which is exciting to see.
I was hoping this week would bring a bit more size, but she’s still growing at a slow and steady pace.
This week, I watered three times with 750 ml each. During the third watering, I introduced 1/3 strength bloom nutrients, with a ppm reading of 620. For the next feeding, I’ll go up to 1/2 strength, and within a few waterings, she’ll be on a full dose.
I also removed a few leaves and continued LST. This will be the last week of LST; I won’t be training her any further. Instead, I plan to start releasing the ties in one to two weeks, once she settles into her final shape.
The light is set to 100% at 35 cm from the plant. I’ve decided to add the second light next week now that she’s in flowering. I’ll start at a combined 140W and gradually bring it up to 200W by the end of the week.
This week, I watered the plant twice, 1 liter each time.
She’s now soaking up 200 watts of light every day.
On day 49, I removed all the LST ties to give Cinderella more freedom to grow naturally.
We’ve entered the 'boring' phase of the grow — just going from watering to watering.
She’s flowering steadily and still staying small and compact. Now, it’s just a matter of patience as we wait for the buds to develop. The first trichomes should be showing up very soon!
This week brought slightly disappointing news.
Some leaves have started turning yellow. I suspect it’s because they’re too low and come into contact with nutrient-rich water or wet soil during watering. I’ve increased the nutrient dosage slightly and realized I made a mistake in tracking the flowering phase — it’s actually the third week of flowering, not the second.
Overall, the buds are starting to swell, and the plant remains odorless unless disturbed.
We’ve spotted the first trichomes! You can check them out in the latest photo.
Also, my nutrient lineup has a new addition: Bud Candy from Advanced Nutrients. I’ll start using it next week. I’ve read a lot of positive reviews about this supplement and hope it will enhance the final flavor and help Cinderella’s buds grow denser.
This week brought even more bad news. The last photo clearly shows how the plant is feeling. I believe this issue was caused by the Bud Candy supplement, so I’ve decided to stop using it since I didn’t experience these problems before, and they appeared just one day after feeding with this product for the first time.
I also flushed the plant with plain water for the first time since starting to use nutrients. The runoff water readings were normal, so it’s not caused by salt buildup in the soil. However, for my next grow, I plan to do a preventive flush every 2-3 weeks just to be safe.
Week 10 is over, and harvest is getting closer and closer!
After flushing with plain water, the plant has started to feel better. The issue has stopped spreading, which is a huge relief. I’ve decided to stop using Bud Candy for the rest of this grow and will save it for next time.
This week, I watered the plant three times on days 64, 67, and 70, with 1 liter each time. The nutrients used can be seen in the fertilizer section.
Approximately 30% of the trichomes are now milky, about 70% are still clear, and less than 1% are amber.
Next week, I’ll be closely monitoring the trichomes for changes. Once I reach around 90% milky trichomes, I’ll start flushing. I’m really hoping to have the plant ready for drying before Christmas so that I can enter the new year with some cured buds ready to enjoy.
Harvest is near!
I can confidently say that week 13 will be the final chapter in this Cinderella's life. The buds have become dense and sticky, just as expected. For testing, I harvested a small branch for tasting (see the last photo), and the results truly surprised me. The effect is already showing its strength.
Next week, I plan to do one more watering with the full set of nutrients, followed by another watering with only BioBloom and TopMax. After that, I will start flushing with plain water.
This week, there were two waterings: on days 73 and 76.
The penultimate week is over!
The penultimate week has come to an end. The buds are looking great, and I'm confident they are ready for flushing, as around 5% of the trichomes have turned amber.
This week, there were two waterings: on day 79 and day 82. The first watering included only BioBloom and TopMax, while the second was just plain water. Yes, I’ve started flushing.
With the plain water watering having ppm 130, the drainage came out at 940 ppm. The soil is heavily salted. I plan to do three more waterings. I will harvest when the drainage ppm reaches around 250.
That’s all the updates for this week. Thanks for following my diaries! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Another Penultimate Week 😅
Unfortunately, the soil has accumulated a lot of salts, and three flushes with 5 liters each didn’t show much improvement.
Last time, I tried a very careful flush to ensure the water drained only from the bottom. The runoff water measured 1700 ppm.
I plan to perform two more flushes with 10 liters each next week.
This will also be my last time using fabric pots, as not all the water flows evenly through the pot. Most of it simply runs down the sides.
The life cycle of the beautiful Cinderella named Jack has finally come to an end 😂.
This week marks the last one, with harvest planned for Day 99.
A detailed harvest week will be added once the buds are fully dried, and I conduct the final weigh-in.
Drying is complete, and the final weight is 41 grams. Honestly, I expected a slightly different effect, but this harvest is perfect for work and creativity. The effect is light and uplifting, definitely leaning towards sativa, possibly due to the specific phenotype. Considering the plant's height of 24 cm, the result is not bad, but next time, I'll aim for a stronger plant development.
