2nd grow: Girl Scout Cookies Autoflower Zamnesia Indoor
My next grows finally start!
I put the GSC seed into a glass of water for a little over 2 days until the tap root showed itself.
The seed is now planted into an EazyPot. The waiting begins.
Update 22/10/24:
So the seed unfortunately never came out the EazyPot and I don't know why. The seed germinated and I planted it inside the pot like all my seeds. Now I germinated 2 more seeds with the cup of water method, both were really strong in the taproot building. One I planted inside the EazyPot and one directly inside its 3gal pot. Now I hope that at least one of these seeds make it. I'll update in the coming days!
It finally happened! 1 week too late but I managed to get a GSC above ground.
So after the first seed just did not come out of the soil despite that it germinated in water, I popped another seed. Since I was out of home for 4 days, the taproot reached a length of 5 cm so I could not plant it inside an EazyPot. Straight into the soil it went: in its 3gal (11L) end pot. By doing that, I damaged the taproot on its tip because it was long and stiff. This obviously never happened before since this is my 2nd grow but I was confident that the seed still will make it because of the sheer length and thickness of the taproot. And I was right, the seed came out of the soil only 1 day after planting it in. It needed to open up itself over night and today, I consider it born (Day 1).
I really hope that it just continues with not giving any fucks and is growing into a beautiful plant.
Happy Halloween!
So my GSC is growing pretty slowly I need to admit. It's day 8 already and she has not even build her first 2 real leafs. If you compare it to my Purple Lemonade even on day 6 the difference is night and day. I just hope that this is just how the genetic is but my feeling says me that the damaged taproot plagued the plant more than I wanted. I still believe in her and will update at least one more time this week on how she is doing.
03/11/24 Update
Good improvement in 3 days.
New Update!
Good grow. I did LST yesterday to get some experience in it. I also cut the fan leaf that blocks the new nodes. I think she does really well, considering her hard start :)
Soooo, the GSC is doing fine I guess. Day 22 already, still pretty small but the side branches are now coming through. The second seed that I popped is growing the same way so I guess the GSC genetic from Zamnesia is just taking its time.
Did some minor defoliation to get more light to the side branches.
The GSC is growing nicely, bending her down did really help the side branches to grow. I could have trained her much better but I am still okay with the outcome.
Flowering has begun. The GSC ist quite small but she did not really start to stretch yet so I'll chill. I have a second pheno in a small 3L pot. That one is growing with the exact some structure. So this plant seems to be quite consistent.
I started to give CalMag because of the deficiency that my Purple Lemonade (my other diary) has and I want to prevent it here. I'm still baffled because I live in an are with very, very mineral rich water. So that problem is BioBizz I guess, because there is no Mg and Ca content in the soil or in other fertilisers from them. Seems fishy that you need to buy CalMag even in areas with rich water.
The GSC is growing absolutely perfectly. I am really happy with her. She has no deficiencies what so ever, especially if you compare it to my Purple Lemonade. This pheno really is leaning to a sativa side, her leafs are really thin compared to more indica leaning plants. My 2nd GSC plant in the tent, which is in a small 3L pot, is doing just as fine. Also a really big plant, especially if you consider the small pot. That pheno is leaning more indica with thicker leafs.
As you can tell she is a very funky plant. Her growth is just alien-like. Very strong leaning on the sativa side with long growing thin leafs. Smell is nice, frost is really coming through right now.
What a plant. She is absolutely amazing. Looks amazing, buds are fat'ning up and her frost is out of this world. She even get's some really beatiful colours now on her buds. Her leafs are still growing funky but that's neutral for me. She is a 10/10.
This is the last update in flowering I guess. I want to cut her down in the next week. So it's just cruising and watering till then.
It will take some time until I update the harvest week here. I'll wait with my strain rating until after drying.
Extremely frosty. Most dense nuts I got from an auto flower, still not as dense as photoperiodics.
Update 01/02/25
So I tried this strain now several times. Even tho I only documented 1 pheno in this diary, I grew 2 of them. One in a 11 L pot (this diary) and one in a small 3L pot. Interstingly, the pheno from the 3L pot is much stronger than the pheno from this diary. This pheno here is really not the strongest but the high is still very satisfying. It get's you really hungry like most strains. The high is mostly in the head and your body stays pretty normal. It does not make me tired like the Purple Lemonade, so I could also vape this strain during the day.
When it comes to terpenes, the pheno from this diary is incredible. Very much like some danish or something else baked. It has creamy and buttery terpenes with sweetness and only a hint of mint.
The other pheno, the stronger one from the 3L pot, is quite different. Still sweet but more leaning to wild berries. It really reminds me of the Purple Punch, but the PP is still more berry-like.
I would recommend growing this strain for beginners since it's very, very easy to grow and it is really nice to handle when it comes to the high.
After consideration, I would not rank this strain a 10/10 because that's just not the case. Both phones grew and taste pretty different.
The wait is finally over, I harvested on 07/01/25. Dried very slowly for almost 2 weeks inside the tent at 60% humidity and 18 - 21 °C.
Smells very sweet, it reminds me strongly of the Purple Punch. Only in direct comparison, the Purple Punch leans more to berries while the GSC leans more to something, I can't smell out. But very tasty.
