Hi guys
New run with the Mob Boss from Anesia seeds!
The seed was germinated with a paper towel. After the first root appeared, the seeds was placed in a peat disk irrigated with water + mycorrhizae and PGPR
In the first 2 weeks I'll use the lite mix from Atami in 2l pot
See you soon!!!
Hi guys
First week of vegetation
I had i lil problem with transpiration (too high -- temperature high. RH% low) in the first days but nothing too worrying. The (2 liter) pot had the PlaGron light mix in it, with a little bit of mycorrhizae and pgpr
I haven't turn on the aspiration yet
See you next week
TRANSPLANT TIME!
Hi guys (and girls!), after 2 weeks is time to changethe pot!
I started with a 2l pot filled with only lightmix from PlaGron
As you can see the roots wanted a bigger space
I used a 9.5l platic pot. I didn't weight the components but I took the proportions into account so more or less:
35% expanded clay
35% light mix from Plagron
25% zeolite
5% mycorrhizae + pgpr
5% bat guano (very strong smell💩)
Why bat guano? Well the cool answer is the higher concentations in phosphorus but the real answer is because it was a gift from a friend, so thank you L.F.!
Hi folks,
the transplant went well and the plant looking pretty good
This time I think I will not topping, I did a little bit of lst and I removed some leaves
For now only water pH 6.8 (I use pH- from BioBizz)
Hi everybody
I did a defoliation and lst but unfortunately, while bending a branch, I broke it (photo). I waited a couple of days to see if it would recover, but it didn’t survive, so I decided to cut it off at the base
Overall, the plant is doing pretty well. The only issue, if we can call it that, is a slight nitrogen over-fertilization (due to bat guano), visible from the dark green color of the leaves and the tips starting to yellow and burn. Up to now, I haven’t added a single drop of fertilizer, and I don’t think it’ll be needed for the entire vegetative phase and the beginning of flowering. I’m using tap water acidified with Biobizz pH-
At the moment, I’m undecided whether to put up the SCROG net immediately to encourage horizontal growth or wait until I transplant it into the 18L pot. I’ll decide in the next few days
If I’ve missed any important details or if you need more information, feel free to let me know in the comments
See you around!"
Edit
The roots are visible at the bottom of the pot, so it's time to repot! In the end, I chose a 23L pot. The substrate was prepared the same way as for the first repotting, but without bat guano, as the plant already seems rich in nitrogen. Next week, it will be time to start scrogging.
Hi people!
The plant responded well to the transplant and is producing a lot of leaves. Normally, defoliation isn't done this frequently, but this Mob Boss handles stress (whether it's defoliation, LST, or transplanting) exceptionally well! All my compliments to Anesia Seeds for this strain😍. Additionally, I don't have much space, and when I start scrogging, I want to avoid too much clutter.
As you can see from the photo, the branch I had previously split vertically managed to survive.
I am continuing to water with pH-adjusted water without any fertilizers. Now, I'm undecided whether to elevate the plant (placing the pot on a stand) to immediately apply the scrog net (currently, it would hit the intake fan). I'll think about it since I don't need to update anyone in advance (not that anyone reads my grow journal, anyway!😅).
P.S. I got caught up in the seasonal sales and decided to purchase a Mars Hydro FC 3000 EVO (2024 version) with the addition of two AdLight modules: IR15 and UV30. I'm very curious to see how it performs. For the price I paid, it feels like a steal (on my part!😜) if the performance matches the claims. Only time will tell!
Edit
I did another defoliation on the lower leaves and branches ---- the plant looks shitty at the moment but I know it will recover (too strong genetic!💪)
The new lamp is finally arrived! I installed it in the box and it fits just perfectly
For now, I haven’t turned on the UV and IR (I’ll start using them during flowering)
As shown in the photo, the supplemental modules are not exactly symmetrical, as the plastic mounting brackets touch the walls of the grow box. A 90x90 or 100x100 space would have been ideal, but I don’t have the option to expand at the moment
Currently, the lamp is set at 50% power. I must admit that connecting everything was quite complicated since I couldn’t remove the scrog and the plant
I still need to decide on the timing for the UV and IR usage. I think I’ll stray slightly from Mars Hydro’s guidelines😝
Happy week friends!
As I expected, the Mob Boss has bounced back wonderfully. I've finally started scrogging the plant under the net. In the sixth photo, I’ve marked in blue where I aim to get before the switch — leaving two squares per side before moving to 12/12, so that during the stretch phase, it can fill up the entire available surface. I'm pretty excited about this!
Still no liquid fertilizers for now; the guano is doing all the work, and the excess is gradually disappearing. Honestly, if I hadn’t overdone it with the guano, I wouldn’t have had to stress the plant as much as I have, but the excess nitrogen has made it grow more vigorously than usual, so I’ve had to stay on top of it as much as possible.
In any case, I plan to move into flowering within the next two weeks👻😸😄
Hi everybody
At the beginninh of the week I did the last defoliation before switching to flowering stage (I cut everything under the scrog and some leaves above that covered buds site)
I found a blade of grass in the pot (cute😚) but I eradicated it (👿)
I have a problem with evapotraspiration but I can't turn the humidity down
The leaf blade is turning upwards and the leaf is closing ---- I adjust the high of the lamp and the potency and I watered with pH controlled water. We'll see
At the end of the week I think I'm going to switch the light cycle😇
Thanks for reading!
Edit
I finally discovered what was the problem with the deficency. It was the pH
I used to fill the 6L tank and adjust the pH, but at the time, I only used 3 liters, and the remaining 3 liters were poured 3 days later. However, the pH returned to its original value before I corrected it. A small misstep
Once the plant recovered (leaves no longer curled inwards), I started flowering, giving 1.5ml/L of Terra leaves and 1.5ml/L of Terra Max by Atami."
Flowering has finally started
I’ve increased the lamp power to 50% and will gradually raise it in the coming weeks (I don’t think I’ll go beyond 80%). I’ve also turned on the IR, setting them to activate 11 minutes before the main light and stay on for 4 minutes while the light is on, then turn off, and turn back on 4 minutes before the main light turns off, remaining on for 11 minutes after the main light shuts off
I’ve also added Terra Max and Bloombastic according to the doses mentioned earlier. I’ll turn on the UV once the flowers start forming, but unlike the IR, I’ll begin gradually. I plan to start with 5 minutes per hour and increase by 1 minute each week
The plant has stretched a lot, and I’m not sure if this elongation is also due to the infrared light
The growth slowed during the second week. The flowers are starting to form
In the next few days I think I will turn on the UV and I'll do a defoliation under the net
Good afternoon everyone
I turned on the UV lights, starting with 4 minutes per hour for all 12 hours of light, in the middle of each hour (e.g., main light on at 6:00 PM, UV on from 6:25 PM to 6:29 PM, 7:25 PM to 7:29 PM, and so on). From now on, if there are no issues with the light, I will increase the UV duration by 1 minute per hour each week (the IR lights will remain constant)
I lowered the lamp to 30 cm and set it to 75% power
The smell is starting to get intense.
Hi everyone,
The plant is clearly suffering from a nitrogen deficiency. I intended to keep it low in this nutrient, but not to this extent 😅. I must say that with organic fertilizers, there’s more room for error when it comes to excesses, but since they’re not instantly available, it’s harder to correct deficiencies. I’ve been using hydroponics with TA nutrients for 4 years, and there’s absolutely no comparison when it comes to nutrient control.
Anyway, I increased UV exposure by 1 minute per hour this week, and I noticed the appearance of some brown spots and the discoloration of some leaves (discoloration meaning they’re turning white!). I’m not sure if this is due to the UV exposure or too many PPFDs, but to be safe, I lowered the light intensity to 75% (from 80% where it was) and the UV by 1min/h (back to 4).
The scent is starting to develop, with very sweet notes. The flowers are swelling; they won’t become huge, but they give me the impression they’ll be rock-hard and heavy (just like in the last hydroponic cycle). I hope the nitrogen deficiency won’t affect the final yield too much, though it will definitely improve the flavor!
Additionally, the flowers are filling with trichomes (only on the flowers, none on the leaves for now). As for the UV exposure, we’ll see—since it’s my first time, I didn’t have any benchmarks to rely on. I think next time, I’ll start with less exposure (1 or 2 minutes per hour).
Hi
everything is going as expected. The smell is becoming very intense and, I must say, quite pleasant with sweetish notes
The flowers are filling up with more and more trichomes
Anyway, the flowers have started to take on/change color, tending towards purple
We'll see if there will be a noteworthy change.
New week, new experiment. I tried increasing the lamp intensity beyond 80%, but it wasn’t a good idea. You can see it in the first two photos of the whole plant, taken a day apart: the leaves, already pale due to nitrogen deficiency, became even more discolored and turned whitish. I went back to 75% power, more than that seems too bright for my 80x80cm space.
That being said, the smell is very strong—sweet with citrus notes—and I’m very, very curious to taste the final product. The flowers are still producing trichomes (the flowers are the only part of the plant that haven’t faded, maintaining a nice green color with some purple veins).
According to Anesia’s datasheet, the plant should be ready to harvest in about two weeks. Even though there have been no excesses during flowering (only deficiencies), I’ve decided to do a flush anyway since the bat guano caused some issues during the vegetative stage. From my experience, post-harvest it tends to leave a strong taste when smoked.
Let’s see if this time the product comes out clean—for now, I’m feeling very confident!
