I had tried placing the dehumidifier inside the tent before, but it was far less effective than keeping it outside and using a hose to direct the dry air into the tent. I’m not exactly sure why, but I suspect it’s because the air outside the tent stays around 55–60% humidity, while inside, it can reach up to 85% at night. This probably allows the dehumidifier to dry the air more efficiently.
I also think the difference comes from how it interacts with the tent’s exhaust system. And, of course, there’s the lack of space inside the tent! 😉
